Jerusalem Post—Top Palestinian official looks to Israel for life-saving transplant:

After a career as Israel’s chief adversary at the negotiating table, Erekat may now rely on Israel for life-saving treatment.

Chief Palestinian f Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat is suffering from a serious respiratory disease and is on the waiting list for a lung transplant in Israel or the United States, according to Ynet.

Erekat, who is also secretary-general of the Palestinian Liberation Organization and one of the most recognizable Palestinian public figures, is reported to be suffering from pulmonary fibrosis and has been informed that a transplant will markedly increase his chances of survival.

After a career as Israel’s chief adversary at the negotiating table, Erekat may now rely on Israel for life-saving treatment.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a form of lung disease that can result in lung scarring. As the lung tissue becomes scarred, the sufferer will find it increasingly difficult to breathe. In most cases, there is no known cause for the disease.

Given his declining health, Erekat is said to have greatly reduced his public duties and sometimes requires oxygen to assist his breathing, Ynet reported.

Erekat, one of the architects of the Oslo Accords, will be temporarily replaced by the head of the Palestinian intelligence service, Majid Faraj.

Faraj is one of the Palestinian Authority’s top officials and has taken on an increasingly important role in Palestinian diplomacy in recent times. In July, Faraj joined Erekat in meetings with US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt and US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman in Jerusalem.

Reports that 62-year-old Erekat’s health is in decline comes at the same time as Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s medical condition is also in question after spending a number of hours at a Ramallah hospital on Saturday.

Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Abbas was discharged from hospital after undergoing “routine medical checks.”

SnyderTalk Comment:

Two points:

  1. Palestinian leaders are showing their age. It’s an authoritarian regime, so their bench strength is not good.
  2. Erekat is filthy rich. His net worth is about $40 million.  Erekat could go anyplace he wanted for surgery, but he is deciding between Israel and the United States.  If he’s smart, he’ll choose Israel.  There’s a reason for that.  Israeli doctors are the best in the world, and Israel’s healthcare system leads the pack.

Israel is the best friend Palestinians have, and yet Palestinians have vowed to destroy Israel.  That’s why Israelis must protect themselves.  Any sensible person would do the same thing under the same set of circumstances.

Palestinians remind me of undisciplined children who demand everything and expect to do nothing in return.  Actually, it’s worse because they are plotting to kill their parents, and the world blames the parents.

See “Palestinian negotiator says US silence fostering ‘apartheid’”.  Erekat speaks with forked tongue.  Apartheid is not in place in Israel.  It’s alive and well in Gaza and the West Bank.

Switching Gears Slightly

See “Arab man says he murdered Jewish girlfriend to ‘free Palestinian prisoners’”.  That kind of evil logic is rampant among Palestinians.   They are taught hatred of Jewish people and Israel from the moment they are born.  They hear it at home; they get the message from their political leaders; and they hear it in mosques.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is guilty of inciting that kind of violence.  So is Saeb Erekat.  All of them have blood on their hands, and they have shown no signs that they are serious about living in harmony with Israel.  Their hatred is so ingrained in their culture that abandoning it at this point is virtually impossible.

The facts point to a showdown, not peace.

Also, see “At Hamas summer camp, kids ‘liberate’ Temple Mount, ‘kill’ Israeli troops”.  This is what is actually happening in the Palestinian community.  Unlike Western media reports about Palestinians, it’s not fake news.

Thanks to Palestinian duplicity and hate, this is what peace looks like.  It occurred in Yavneh on Wednesday:

Finally, see “Kushner: ‘There may be no solution’ to Mideast peace”.

Kushner is being overly optimistic.  “There may be no solution” is inaccurate.  “There is no solution” is accurate.

There comes a time when facing the facts is unavoidable.  That time has arrived.

People who don’t know any better believe Erekat.  The sad part is that most people are totally ignorant.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
