Something to Ponder: “Liberal Progressives” and HIV/AIDS

Former CIA Director and Secretary of Defense Bob Gates said about former Senator and Vice President Joe Biden, he’s “been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

Gates is right, and the same thing can be said about “liberal progressives”.  They have been wrong on every important issue that has arisen since Roe v. Wade in 1973.

“Liberal progressives”, most of whom are Democrats, are champions for every perverse cause being discussed.  For instance,

  • Sodomy: “liberal progressives” don’t just champion it. They are wildly enthusiastic about it.  They want to teach it to our kids.  They keep adding to the list of perversities they endorse.  LGBTQ is in vogue today, but nobody knows what’s next on their agenda.  Pedophiles and “animal lovers” are waiting in the wings to become the next “liberal progressive” darling.  According to “liberal progressives”, they have “rights”, too.
  • Abortion: “liberal progressives” are proud of the 60,000,000 unborn babies they have slaughtered. Now, they want to legalize infanticide.  A movement is getting underway to delay declaring that babies are human beings until they are 2-years-old so that they can be euthanized long after birth for whatever reason legally.  If that day comes, “liberal progressives” will have to change their slogan from “My Body, My Choice” to something else.  “My Baby, My Choice”?  “My Crying Blob of Tissue, My Choice”?  I’m just guessing.
  • Border security: what borders? We don’t need or want borders “liberal progressives” tell us.
  • Islamism: Christianity is under attack everywhere, especially in public education, but public schools are teaching Islamic prayers and chants. Why?  “Liberal progressives” think it’s good for America.  If you don’t support them, you are an Islamophobe, or so they say.

HIV/AIDS

HIV/AIDS hit gay communities in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles in 1981, but it wasn’t identified as a serious public health threat until 1983.  In the early days, HIV/AIDS could have been contained if we had quarantined infected individuals.  We didn’t take the necessary precautions because we didn’t want to stigmatize homosexuals and other perverts.  Anyone pushing for common sense measures was called a “homophobe”.

Sound familiar?

As you would expect with an infectious disease that isn’t treated properly, HIV/AIDS crossed over from the homosexual community to every group in society at every age.  So far, 675,000 Americans have died of HIV/AIDS.  We are told that in the United States right now “1.2 million people live with an HIV infection, of whom 15% are unaware of their infection.”

Below are a few facts that were published on the official government website, hiv.gov.

Approximately 1.1 million people in the U.S. are living with HIV today. About 15 percent of them (1 in 7) are unaware they are infected.

An estimated 38,700 Americans became newly infected with HIV in 2016.

Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men bear the greatest burden by risk group, representing an estimated 26,000 of new HIV infections per year.

  • In 2017, 38,739 people received an HIV diagnosis in the U.S. and 6 dependent areas
  • The annual number of new HIV diagnoses in the U.S. remained stable from 2012 to 2016.
  • HIV diagnoses are not evenly distributed across states and regions. Of the 38,739 new HIV diagnoses in the U.S in 2017, 19,968 (52%) were in the South.

The information below is from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation:

  • The first cases of what would later become known as AIDS were reported in the United States in June of 1981.1Today, there are more than 1.1 million people living with HIV and more than 700,000 people with AIDS have died since the beginning of the epidemic.2,3,4
  • HIV continues to have a disproportionate impact on certain populations, particularly racial and ethnic minorities and gay and bisexual men and other men who have sex with men. 5,6
  • HIV testing is important for both treatment and prevention efforts. Yet, 15% of those infected with HIV are unaware they are infected.7
  • Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has substantially reduced AIDS-related morbidity and mortality and improved long-term outcomes for people with HIV. Treatment guidelines recommend initiating treatment as soon as one is diagnosed with HIV.8According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), when an individual living with HIV is on antiretroviral therapy and the level of HIV in their body is undetectable, there is “effectively no risk” of sexual transmission.9 Still, many people with HIV are not in care, on treatment, or have their virus under control.10
  • Numerous federal and local government departments and agencies are involved in the domestic HIV/AIDS response, which together provide disease surveillance, prevention, care, support services, and health insurance coverage. Additionally, the private sector and community-based organizations, provide services for people with HIV and those at risk for HIV.

“Liberal Progressives” in the Democrat Party are the Problem

As you can see, HIV/AIDS remains a serious public health threat.  Hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens have died painfully and needlessly thanks to policies that “liberal progressives” insist are “good for America”.

“Liberal progressives” also champion other causes that threaten our existence.  Extensions of abortion on demand, pedophilia, bestiality, open borders, and Islamism are a few of them.  What comes next is anyone’s guess.

“Liberal progressives” in the Democrat Party are the problem.  If we vote for them, we become complicit.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
