July 31, 2021 SnyderTalk—Never Take Sides Against Yahweh or His Chosen People

“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Isaiah 55: 6-7

Never Take Sides Against Yahweh or His Chosen People

Numbers 12 begins by telling us that Moses’ brother and sister, Aaron and Miriam, “spoke against Moses”. The important point is that they spoke against him, not why they did it, but I suspect they were jealous of him. It may have boiled down to sibling rivalry.

Moses was Yahweh’s chosen man, His designated leader. Yahweh had used Moses to tell Pharaoh to let the Children of Israel go. When Pharaoh refused to obey Yahweh, He used Moses to deliver 10 plagues on Egypt. Then He used Moses to part the Red Sea, so the Children of Israel could walk across on dry ground. Moses led the Children of Israel to Mount Sinai, and he went up on the mountain to talk with Yahweh. Then, Yahweh gave Moses the Ten Commandments.

As I said, Moses was special. Aaron and Miriam were probably jealous of him. I think Numbers 12: 2 supports that conclusion:

“Has Yahweh indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us as well?”

As I said, why Aaron and Miriam spoke against Moses didn’t matter. The fact that they did it mattered.

Below is Numbers 12 in its entirety. You should read it.

Numbers 12

1 Then Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married (for he had married a Cushite woman); 2 and they said, “Has Yahweh indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us as well?”

And Yahweh heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very humble, more than any man who was on the face of the earth.) 4 Suddenly, Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron and to Miriam, “You three come out to the tent of meeting.”

So, the three of them came out. 5 Then Yahweh came down in a pillar of cloud and stood at the doorway of the tent, and He called Aaron and Miriam. When they had both come forward, 6 He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, shall make Myself known to him in a vision. I shall speak with him in a dream. 7 Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household; 8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, even openly, and not in dark sayings, and he beholds the form of Yahweh. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?”

9 So, the anger of Yahweh burned against them and He departed. 10 But when the cloud had withdrawn from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. As Aaron turned toward Miriam, behold, she was leprous. 11 Then Aaron said to Moses, “Oh, my lord, I beg you, do not account this sin to us, in which we have acted foolishly and in which we have sinned. 12 Oh, do not let her be like one dead, whose flesh is half eaten away when he comes from his mother’s womb!”

13 Moses cried out to Yahweh, saying, “O El, heal her, I pray!”

14 But Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, would she not bear her shame for seven days? Let her be shut up for seven days outside the camp, and afterward she may be received again.”

15 So Miriam was shut up outside the camp for seven days, and the people did not move on until Miriam was received again. 16 Afterward, however, the people moved out from Hazeroth and camped in the wilderness of Paran.

Numbers 12: 6-8

Pay particular attention to Numbers 12: 6-8. In those verses, Yahweh explains that Moses was not an ordinary guy. He wasn’t even an ordinary prophet. Yahweh spoke with him in Person, “mouth to mouth”:

6 He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, shall make Myself known to him in a vision.

The Children of Judah in Israel

The Children of Judah in Israel today are special, too. They are evidence of Yahweh fulfilling His promise to give the Promised Land to Abraham’s descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel. They are not perfect. We can point out things to them that they need to know and remember, but we can’t attack them in any way when they make mistakes. We shouldn’t even speak against them. They are Yahweh’s responsibility, not yours or mine.

This week, Democrat representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Cori Bush, Andre Carson, Mark Pocan, Betty McCollum, and Ayanna Pressley sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen telling her that “West Bank settlements” in Israel may be in violation of international law and that the “settlements” may not be eligible for tax-exempt status. That was a direct assault on the Children of Judah, Jerusalem, and the State of Israel. Their attack falls into line with so-called “Palestinian” attacks on Israel that are designed to destroy the nation.

Most of those “settlements” are neighborhoods in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital. The representatives who signed the letter to Secretary Yellen are trying to eliminate Israel one parcel of land at a time, and they are attacking Jerusalem, Yahweh’s holy city, first. At this point, I don’t think the representatives have a chance of winning a vote in the House, but they are loud, and they are getting lots of attention.

Support for Israel in the Democrat Party has been waning for decades. A short while ago, no Democrat would have been foolish enough to make a frontal assault on Israel in Congress, but their reluctance is waning, too.

Keep in mind that the Democrat Party has no morals. Betraying Yahweh and His people means nothing to most of them. That should be obvious, especially to Jewish people. Regrettably, the Democrat Party still enjoys enormous support from American Jews.

I pray that Yahweh will deal with the anti-Semites and Israel haters in Congress. I pray that He will do it the way He dealt the Miriam. If they don’t get the message, I pray that He will deal with them the way He dealt with Pharaoh.

There need to be consequences from Yahweh for their arrogant and boastful sinning against the State of Israel and His chosen people in Israel.

By the way, what we call the “West Bank” is actually Judea and Samaria. They are talked about in the Bible. They are the ancestral home of the Children of Israel dating back more than 3,000 years.

Today’s “Palestinians” who claim to own the land are recent arrivals. They didn’t use the name “Palestinians” until the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was founded in 1964. Before that, they were called “Arabs”. Yasser Arafat, the founder of the PLO, was an Egyptian Arab.

“I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and My sheep know Me — just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father — and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one Shepherd. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life — only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father.”
