August 21, 2015 SnyderTalk: What Are Palestinians Doing With U.S. Money?

1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My Name will be great among the Gentiles, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My Name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My Name will be great among the Gentiles,” says Yahweh Sabaoth. (Malachi 1: 11)

Khaled Abu Toameh—What Are Palestinians Doing With U.S. Money?:

During the past 20 years, the U.S. has invested $4.5 billion in promoting democracy among the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and boosting the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

This is what Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah revealed during a meeting in Ramallah this week with Congressman Kevin McCarthy, Majority Leader of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Hamdallah said that the money was also invested in projects in various Palestinian sectors.

The $4.5 billion that Hamdallah talked about does not include the billions of dollars poured on the Palestinian Authority (PA) since its creation in 1994. Palestinian economic analysts estimate that the PA has received a total of $25 billion in financial aid from the U.S. and other countries during the past two decades.

One does not have to be an expert on Palestinian affairs to see that the billions of dollars have neither created democracy for the Palestinians nor boosted the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Twenty years later, the Palestinians still have a long way to go before they ever see real democracy in the West Bank or Gaza Strip.

To begin with, the Palestinian Authority, which was born out of the 1993 Oslo Accords between Israel and the PLO, was never a democratic regime. On the contrary; what the Palestinians got from the start was a mini-dictatorship run by Yasser Arafat and his PLO and Fatah cronies. It was a corrupt regime, was directly funded and armed by the U.S., Europe and several other countries.

SnyderTalk Comment: The answer is simple.  Palestinian leaders are enriching themselves and paying terrorists to attack Israel.

We have poured enough money into the so-called “Palestinian problem” to make all of them rich.  Well, their leaders are rich, but ordinary “Palestinians” are suffering and it’s not Israel’s fault.

It’s time to stop this madness.  It’s time to end support for Palestinians completely and to tell the world that the two-state solution is dead.

Forget it.  With Obama in office, nothing sensible will happen.

Eugene Scott: Anti-abortion group releases seventh Planned Parenthood video—”Today’s video contains heartrending admissions about the absolute barbarism of Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice and baby parts sales in which fetuses are sometimes delivered intact and alive,” Daleiden said in a statement. “Planned Parenthood is a criminal organization from the top down and should be immediately stripped of taxpayer funding and prosecuted for their atrocities against humanity.”

SnyderTalk Comment: By now, everyone should have heard about the latest Planned Parenthood video in which the dissection of an aborted child while it was still alive is discussed.  They cut his face open to remove his brain intact.

That’s criminal.  It’s inhumane.  Anyone who would do it is depraved.

If the person had done that to a cow or a pig in a slaughterhouse, the mainstream media would have given it the same kind of coverage that they gave the BP oil spill or the Enron collapse.  It would have been nonstop until the company was out of business and the culprits were indicted.

PETA and other similar groups would have organized rallies to protest the company and the practice.  Envirowackos would have targeted the company’s higher-ups for terrorist attacks.

None of those things will happen.  The mainstream media will bury coverage if they cover it at all.  Human rights and animal rights groups will ignore it completely.  All of them have bought into the concept of murder on demand if it involves the life of an unborn child.  To me, that’s one of the clearest signs that our nation is soul sick, and it’s not just our nation.  The whole world has gone crazy when it comes to protecting the lives of unborn children.  They have no rights.

We have criminal laws that protect us from those who would attempt to murder us.  That’s what Planned Parenthood is doing.  It’s time to charge the culprits with murder and the organization under RICO statutes for criminal activity.

What Planned Parenthood is doing makes Enron and BP look like choir boys.  If Obama’s so-called “Justice Department” won’t go after the guilty parties, charges should be brought by a moral prosecutor.  Surely, there must be a few of them in this country.

More than 35% of babies that are aborted in our country are African Americans.  Where is Obama when you need him?  He was out on the stump before the evidence was collected when Michael Brown was shot.  As it turns out, Brown was shot by a police officer in self-defense after he had committed several criminal acts.

Obama is one of Planned Parenthood’s most ardent supporters.  The Democrat Party is in lockstep with him.  Democrats as a group are just as guilty as our president.

Lawrence A. Franklin: Nuke Deal or Not, Iran Has Already Declared War on Us— Iran has been at war with the “Great Satan” (USA) since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979. Its opening move was the regime’s seizure of the American Embassy and its taking U.S. diplomats hostage for 444 days in 1979-1980. Technically, the move was an internationally recognized casus belli, legitimate cause for war. In addition, the Iranian regime’s proxy terrorist group, Hezbollah, engineered the murder of 241 U.S. soldiers, sailors, and marines in Lebanon on October 23, 1983. Iran also sponsored the truck bombing that murdered 19 US Air Force personnel at the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia on June 25, 1996, in an attack allegedly executed by a Bahrain-based cell of Hezbollah, with the cooperation of a Saudi-trained Hezbollah cell.

James Woolsey and Peter Pry: A Shariah-approved nuclear attack: How America could easily enable Iran to get the weaponry to destroy the West— Congress must stop President Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. The most important reason – Iran can threaten the existence of the United States by making an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack using a single nuclear weapon. It may obtain one, relatively easily, by cheating in the use of the nuclear infrastructure permitted them under the agreement. U.S. intelligence cannot meet the impossibly high standard of assuring that Iran cannot acquire a single nuclear weapon and, given the regime’s existing nuclear infrastructure, cannot with absolute certainty guarantee that Iran does not already have one.

SnyderTalk Comment: This assessment is accurate, but it’s too late to stop the Iran deal.  This is a problem for the next president, and we can’t afford another Democrat.

Kim R. Holmes: What Happens If Congress Says No to the Iran Deal?—Robert Satloff, the executive director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, recently suggested that Congress vote “no” and re-adjust the terms of the Iran nuclear deal to correct some of its flaws. Most experts believe it would take until spring 2016 at the earliest for Iran to comply with the terms of the agreement. Since none of the U.S. sanctions will be suspended by then, there would still be time for the U.S. to take remedial measures to strengthen the deal. Among these could be reaching understandings with European partners “on the appropriate penalties to be imposed for a broad spectrum of Iranian violations.” Other actions could include a clearer declaratory policy that military force will not be taken off the table, and ramping up tougher sanctions against Tehran’s terrorist and other non-nuclear activities that destabilize the region. Strong sanctions are what forced whatever concessions Iran made. Keeping or strengthening sanctions enhances America’s bargaining leverage. Even if Congress disapproves the deal, that leverage will remain. If Tehran responds to a congressional “no” vote by thumbing its nose at everybody, it will only be back where it started, which is not where it wants to be. Sure, the Iranians would bluster and threaten, but they would have no choice but to return to the bargaining table if they want the sanctions eliminated. The secretary of state called the prospects of a better deal a “fantasy.” He’s got it backwards. The real fantasy is the administration’s promise that the current agreement will eliminate Iran’s nuclear capability.  Also see these articles:

Armin Rosen: Why the IAEA-Iran Side Deal Is Important—In the IAEA investigation of the military dimensions of Iran’s nuclear program, Iran will be allowed to use its own experts to inspect Parchin, a military facility where detonators for a nuclear bomb may have been tested in 2003. But experts believe that any evidence of nuclear-weapons activity at Parchin was wiped from the site years ago. Aaron Stein of the Royal United Services Institute has noted that the AP story on the IAEA-Iran side deal is important for what it suggests about the overall effectiveness of the international effort to investigate the extent of Iran’s nuclear weaponization work, since the IAEA was “using Iranian language” in framing how disclosure issues would be settled.

Jonathan Tobin: The Sorry Spectacle of Obama’s Pro-Iran Deal Jews— President Obama may have a stranglehold on the votes he’ll need to sustain a veto of a Congressional rejection of his Iran nuclear deal. But while getting one-third plus one votes in either the House or the Senate will save the agreement, the administration and its allies are not satisfied with scraping through this debate and have been playing hardball against critics on both sides of the aisle. The president has likened Republican opponents of the deal to Iranians who chant “Death to America” even as he inaccurately claims that the person leading those chants — Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei — is “just a politician” and can be counted on to behave responsibly. He’s also exerted fierce pressure on pro-Israel Democrats to stay in line rather than their principles that would lead them to vote against him. But nowhere has the political combat been nastier than in the American Jewish community. While polls have shown most Jews don’t like the deal and most of their organizations are opposing it, the administration has been able to rally some of his allies in the Jewish community to not merely articulate half-hearted defenses of the deal but to blast opponents for having the temerity to call out Obama for his attacks. Though they claim to be in favor of free debate and to merely want civility, the not-so-subtle subtext to their message is clear: American right-winger warmongers and Israelis need to stop questioning dear leader.

SnyderTalk Comment: Yes, it’s a “sorry spectacle”, and it’s stupid, too.

Hassan Lasjerdi: The Supreme Leader’s New Message to the West—There are some points to bear in mind about Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s viewpoint regarding Washington’s policies. Some wrongly believe that following the nuclear pact, Iran and the U.S. are set to resolve all the outstanding issues they have in their relations. Some hold the idea that Iran and the U.S. will turn into partners to resolve the crises crippling the Middle East. Amid these speculations, the Leader has stressed that Iran would keep on practicing its anti-hegemonic, anti-imperialism, and resistance policy. In other words, the Leader has clearly indicated that taking a single step to resolve a number of issues does not mean turning a blind eye to all that has happened in the past, and that the West needs to take more serious and fundamental steps to make up for what it has done in the past.

AP: Thai police issue arrest warrant for Bangkok bombing suspect—Police in Thailand issued an arrest warrant on Wednesday for an “unidentified foreign man” shown in a security video leaving behind a backpack just minutes before a deadly bombing at a Bangkok shrine, but acknowledged they’re not sure of his nationality. Police also released a sketch of the man they believe carried out Monday’s bombing and offered a 1 million baht ($28,000) reward for help leading to his arrest. But apart from the rough portrait, authorities had few solid leads. At a news conference earlier in the day, the national police chief expressed uncertainty about the man’s origin. Somyot Poompanmoung said the suspect “looks like a foreigner” but “might have been in a disguise and wearing a fake nose” to conceal his identity. […] “He didn’t do it alone, for sure. It’s a network,” Somyot said. Police spokesman Lt. Gen. Prawut Thavornsiri said the security video appears to show two possible accomplices standing in front of the man who are also considered suspects.

SnyderTalk Comment: This attack in Thailand has ISIS’ fingerprints all over it.

Yaniv Halili: British tourist under attack for expressing love for Israel— Emma Carter, 34, from London fell utterly in love with Israel and its people during her first visit to the Holy Land. She took to social media to share her new found passion for Israel, but found herself under attack by her friends. It got so bad that she had to close her Facebook account altogether. Carter’s good friend, Dafna Endoditch-Rau, a young Jew who lives in the British capital, decided to celebrate her 40th birthday in Tel Aviv and invited her to join her for the trip. “I was worried about visiting Israel and I hesitated quite a bit before I agreed,” Carter said. “As an Englishwoman, all I knew about Israel were the wars in Gaza. But Dafna told me that I would be safer in Israel than in London, and I decided to go and see the country for myself.”

Zack Beauchamp: The Matisyahu Israel boycott controversy, explained— Over the weekend, American reggae singer Matisyahu, who is Jewish, was booted from Spain’s Rototom Sunsplash music festival. According to the festival’s organizers, they canceled his performance because Matisyahu refused to issue a statement endorsing a Palestinian state. That’s exactly as outrageous as it sounds: The implication is that Jews are a suspect class, that all Jews are presumed responsible for the actions of Israel, and that is appropriate to demand that Jews affirmatively prove they have the “right” loyalties and beliefs. But this is about more than just one Spanish reggae fest. The controversy speaks to a much bigger fight over the growing international campaign to boycott Israel, and if that campaign can overcome the extremists in its ranks — or whether it even wants to.

SnyderTalk Comment: Jewish people living in Europe and visiting Europe need to be very careful.  As Bob Dylan said, “The times they are a changin’.”

James M. Dorsey: Saudi Arabia and Iran: Volatile Political Geography of Oil and Minorities— DISCONTENT IS bubbling over among the majority Shiite population in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, home to the kingdom’s major oil fields and petrochemical industry. Disgruntlement is no less in the Iranian province of Khuzestan where up to 90 percent of Iran’s oil reserves are located. Iranian Arabs, who account for approximately half of the four million inhabitants of Khuzestan, chafe at perceived cultural and ethnic abuse and repression. The fact that dissatisfied minorities populate the oil-rich regions of Iran and Saudi Arabia creates an ironic parallel in which in the rivalry between two of the Middle East’s larger powers often amounts to the pot calling the kettle black. Rather than recognising that protests and mounting incidents of violence are the result of government failure to address legitimate grievances, both Iran and Saudi Arabia have blamed each other for the unrest in their strategic backyards.

SnyderTalk Comment: When the truth is finally revealed, it will become clear that this battle has less to do with oil and more to do with different interpretations of Islam.  This is part of the “last man standing” battle that I have explained before.

In a nutshell, it’s about who will control Islam as terrorists envision the creation of a caliphate that will govern Islam globally.  The last group standing will be in the driver’s seat.  Iran and Turkey, for example, under Islamist rulers are in the game, too, so it’s more complicated than it appears at first blush.

Martin Scicluna: Middle East maelstrom— Europe and the West are paying a high price for their damage limitation policies in the Middle East. The fundamental challenges of successive waves of migration into Europe from the Middle East and the threats posed by ISIS will continue to dog European countries and the West for another generation. As Justin Marozzi, an eminent author and lecturer who has spent the past 30 years travelling in and writing about the Middle East said, quoting from a letter-writer in the Daily Mail: “Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle East? Let me explain. [The West] supports the Iraqi government in the fight against Islamic State. We don’t like IS, but IS is supported by Saudi Arabia whom we do like. We don’t like President Assad in Syria. We support the fight against him, but not IS, which is also fighting against him. We don’t like Iran, but the Iranian government supports the Iraqi government against IS. So, some of our friends support our enemies and some of our enemies are our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting our other enemies, whom we don’t want to lose, but we don’t want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win.”

SnyderTalk Comment: Sounds confusing because it is.  As I have said, it’s not as simple as journalists and politicians make it out to be, and it’s all about Islam which many of them refuse to admit—Barack Obama in particular.

Burak Bekdil: Election Time in Turkey: Tossing the Dice Again— By this autumn, the Turks will have gone to the ballot box four times in about a year and a half. Three of the elections had been scheduled in advance: municipal in March 2014, presidential in August 2014, and parliamentary in June 2015. But apparently the Turks will have to elect another parliament a few months after the one they voted for on June 7. Not because there was large-scale vote-rigging in the last election, but rather because President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not like the election results.

SnyderTalk Comment: Every election in Turkey is an opportunity for Erdogan to have his way in his country.  He’s like Hitler in this regard: he won’t quit.

Max Ehrenfreund: Why Ashley Madison’s founder thinks cheating can help marriages—A security breach at Ashley Madison, the dating Web site for those with a mind to break their marital vows, has revealed the names of roughly 37 million people, along with other information such as heights, weights, credit card numbers and personal descriptions. Though some of the identities may be false ones, security researchers say they think the data are genuine, and the records probably include many cheaters who now fear that they will be exposed. Yet Ashley Madison’s founder, Noel Biderman, has long argued that the unfaithful are unfairly stigmatized. Not only that, he thinks that the world would be a better place if more people cheated on their spouses.

SnyderTalk Comment: I haven’t included anything in SnyderTalk on the Ashley Madison affair (pardon the pun) so far, but this one was too much to resist.

Cheating helps marriages is insane.  Does that mean people won’t buy that argument?  Hardly.  It simply means that it’s a stupid defense of the indefensible.

Exodus 19

16 So it came about on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunder and lightning flashes and a thick cloud upon the mountain and a very loud trumpet sound, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled. 17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
