Ruth Eglash and William Branigin—Three abducted Israeli teens found dead, army says:

The Israeli army confirmed Monday evening that search teams found the bodies of three kidnapped Israeli teenagers, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed that the Islamist militant group accused of the abductions would pay a heavy price.

Speaking at the start of a meeting of his security cabinet following the grisly discovery, Netanyahu said, “Hamas is responsible, and Hamas will pay.” He said the three “were kidnapped and murdered in cold blood by wild beasts.” The teenagers were abducted June 12 as they made their way home from their religious school in the Israeli-occupied West Bank.

While few details were released on the exact fate of the three teens, security officials said the bodies of Naftali Fraenkel and Gilad Shaar, both 16, and Eyal Yifrach, 19, were found in an open area close to Hebron, in the West Bank, near the location where the teens disappeared. Fraenkel was a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen.

SnyderTalk Comment: The perpetrators of these heinous crimes deserve what is coming to them in this life and the next, and so do others who were complicit in the gruesome murders whoever they may be.  My prayers go out to the loved ones of these three young boys, and I pray that there will be swift justice in this life and the next for everyone involved—and I mean everyone.

Peter Berger: Are People Killing Each Other Today Over an Election Dispute in Arabia More Than a Thousand Years Ago?— While it would be wrong to think that the conflict in the Middle East is only about religion, it would be even more wrong to downplay just how much of the conflict actually is just about religion.

Prof. Abraham Ben-Zvi: Obama versus the Middle East reality— U.S. President Barack Obama probably wanted to avoid the annals of his presidency last week. Indeed, his job approval rating reached an all-time low of about 40 percent, which comes mostly against the backdrop of the Iraqi government’s precipitous demise.

Guy Millière: EU, U.S., Funding Incentives to Kill Jews—Children living in territories controlled by the Palestinian Authority, funded by Europe and the U.S., are encouraged to kill Jews and destroy Israel. There can be no peace so long as financial incentives to kill Jews and destroy Israel continue to be dangled in front of Palestinian populations. It is this aggression, and not humanitarian relief, that much of the well-intended international funding — with no conditions whatsoever attached — is used for. The only conclusion one can draw is the EU and the U.S. are actually on the side of terrorism. So long as the EU and the U.S continue to fund entities which openly promote acts of terror, they should be held criminally liable as accessories to war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Dr. Shaul Bartal: Don’t succumb to Hamas— The publication of the names of two Hamas operatives suspected of kidnapping the three Israeli teens prompted a particularly thunderous response from Hamas spokespeople. It could no longer be denied that Hamas was responsible for the kidnapping. The two kidnappers come from families known for their support of Hamas, and the kidnappers themselves have served time in Israeli prison for being members of the group.

Shadi Paveh: Iran: Murder by Prison, Karaj—Prison conditions in the Central Prison of Karaj have become deadly since the previous head of the prison infirmary was replaced by Dr. Pajman Adeli, in February, 2014. According to sources, Dr. Adeli regularly denies medical treatment after visually examining prisoners with “a glance” and declaring them “not in need of medical care.” In 1955, the United Nations adopted the Standard for Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners. Presumably, therefore, Dr. Adeli can eventually be tried in an international court for war crimes.

Avi Issacharoff: Ramadan in Gaza—Nearly every Ramadan, the same terrorists in Gaza get inspired by the holy month, wait for the sun to go down and the day’s fast to end, enjoy their iftar dinner, and then get to work trying to fire rockets at Israel. Hamas does not want war, but is hesitant to play too participatory a role in preventing rocket fire on Israel for fear of being perceived as collaborating with the Jewish state while it criticizes the Palestinian Authority for its security cooperation with Israel.

Zalman Shoval: A Nuclear Deal Amid Crisis in Iraq?—As the July 20 deadline draws near for a potential nuclear deal between the West and Iran, the chances of such an agreement being reached seem low. The Americans and their allies are fed up with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif’s polite diversion tactics, and his proposed outline for the agreement falls vastly short of meeting their demands. American diplomats underscored that the Iranian position on several key points – such as the number of centrifuges and amount of enriched uranium – was far from the West’s position on those matters. So far, the Americans seem steadfast in their demands, that while the West is willing to abide 1,000 centrifuges at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, such allowances do not extend to any hidden facilities; and that uranium enrichment could be performed only up to 5% – not to 20%. Publicly, the Iranians have adamantly rejected all of the West’s demands, and now it is a matter of who blinks first – unless the crisis in Iraq brings about an extreme change of circumstance.

Yoav Limor: Dancing to the extremists’ tune— The dynamics behind the events in southern Israel over the past few days are the work of no more than a few dozen radical terrorists who are trying to force the area into an overall escalation.

Abraham Cooper and Yitzchok Adlerstein: Countering the Presbyterian Church’s World Without Zion— The tactics deployed by anti-Israel zealots at the recent Presbyterian Church (USA) General Assembly would have made Soviet dictator Joe Stalin proud. The leadership of PCUSA and a few committees long hostile to Israel hijacked the committee process. They removed a chairman they couldn’t control, and made sure that the microphone stayed in the hand of anti-Israel speakers, along with self-loathing Jewish Quislings who piled lies upon accusations upon demonization of Israel. Pro-Israel voices were given only one-90 second shot to respond. Pro-Israel resolutions were turned into pro-Palestinian, so that delegates who had bothered to read originals before the conclave unwittingly voted against their actual wishes.

David M. Weinberg: Plan B for ‘balagan’— Maj. Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin is one of Israel’s most important strategic thinkers. His background in the air force and military intelligence, along with the non-conventional and non-political positions he has staked out over the years, have earned him a reputation for fairness. Unlike many of his peers, he has backed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the Iranian issue, and admirably avoided snarky attacks on Netanyahu.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 14: 17-20

17 Then after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High [El Elyon]. 19 He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth; 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” He gave him a tenth of all.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
