Caroline Glick—Indivisible Anti-Semitism:

On March 19, it will be two years since Mohammed Merah slaughtered three Jewish children and a rabbi in the courtyard of the Ozar Hatorah Jewish day school in Toulouse, France.

Far from being a wake-up call that forced the French to their senses, and compelled them to purge their society of the Jew-hatred that inspired Merah to film himself blowing his victims’ brains out, his act served as an inspiration for other anti-Semites.

According to the French Interior Ministry, anti-Semitic attacks rose 60 percent in 2012 over 2011 levels.

Over the past decade and a half, anti-Semitism has moved from the backroom to the living room throughout Europe.

All aspects of Jewish life are under assault.

James Lewis: Dangerous Times: Will Europe ever Defend Itself?— In purely cynical geopolitical terms, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin has completely outfoxed President Obama and the whole foreign policy apparatus of the West. The United States and our overfatted intelligence apparatus were caught with their pants down. The Europeans were just as badly suckered. Our National Security Agency may be able to track every email and phone call in the world, but it can’t grasp the plainly stated intentions of our obvious great power opponent, imperialistic Russia, which is now trying to reverse the breakdown of the Soviet Empire in the Cold War.

Paul Alster: Wave of rocket attacks on Israel signal power struggle in Gaza— A frightening wave of rocket attacks raining down on Israel from terrorists in Gaza has not only broken a yearlong period of relative quiet on the border, it has put Hamas at odds with both Israel and an even more militant terror group within the territory. The 70 indiscriminate Qassam and Grad missile attacks are already 11 more than were mounted in all of 2013, and have prompted dozens of counter-attacks by Israel Defense Forces. But officials believe Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and not Hamas, the terrorist group that governs the territory, is behind the attacks. Hamas’ popularity in the strip is in freefall, as the economy struggles and other groups such as Islamic Jihad vie for public support.

Dror Eydar: The debate is about our right to exist— This is what you found? A murmured response to the question by PLO leader Yasser Arafat in 1988, and an additional hum directed toward Haaretz journalists? And after this, they’ll be angry that people talk about U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in terms of messianic obsession. Why should it be necessary to search high and low for Palestinian recognition of a Jewish state? Because there is none. One can read the declarations of the Palestinian Authority and its leaders over the past 20 years. Indeed, opposing recognition of Israel as the national home of the Jewish people is more important to the Palestinians than land, since this is the true heart of the conflict, rather than the other territorial nonsense that the Left has been selling for years. It’s not about territory and not about settlements and not about refugee rights, not at all.

Luboš Motl: Kosovo and Crimea: common themes and differences—On March 16th, we are choosing: [this] or [that]. As the billboard shows, the people will be choosing between a membership in the burning land composed of fences and represented by fascist national colors of Ukraine (black and red: the Right Sector uses the same colors on their flag) with a swastika on one hand, and a future in a shiny Russia represented by the Slavic tricolor flag on the other hand. The sniper-controlled parliament in Kiev has helped the independence of Crimea by declaring the Crimean parliament non-existent according to the Ukrainian laws, so the Crimean parliament may finally start to operate outside Ukraine. It won’t be a smooth sailing. For example, Ukraine may quickly cut water pipelines and other things.

Joseph Puder: Crimea 2014: Czechoslovakia 1938 Redux—The recent standoff in the Crimea between Russia and the Ukraine is reminiscent of the tactics employed by Germany to bring pre-World War II Europe under the Nazi heel. Hitler amassed troops around the German-Czechoslovak border, the Czechs sought to effectuate their treaties with western allies, Britain’s Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain rushed to Germany to appeal to Hitler to avoid aggression and, in an effort to prevent a war, sacrificed Czechoslovakia on the altar of appeasement. The weakness of the west was on display and only served to whet Hitler’s appetite for further aggression.

Kenneth Levin: Jeffrey Goldberg, Jackson Diehl and Obama’s Targeting of Israel— In his recent hour-long White House interview with Jeffrey Goldberg, President Obama once more unleashed a biased, dishonest attack on Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Goldberg, like all too many high-profile writers and commentators, gave the president a pass on his anti-Israel riff and even seconded it. A striking contrast, demonstrating incisive, reality-based coverage of Obama’s anti-Israel slant and its inevitable negative consequences, has been provided over the past five years by the Washington Post’s Jackson Diehl. Goldberg’s interview received wide attention for the president’s warnings to Netanyahu that he must quickly reach a peace agreement with the Palestinians or Israel could face dire consequences from a world impatient with the Jewish state’s supposed foot-dragging in ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, now in the tenth year of a four-year term, the president had only positive things to say, including definitively characterizing him as ready for a peace deal.

Michael Curtis: Israeli and Chinese Academics Meet— An old Chinese proverb says, “Every step leaves its print.”  One recent small step forward has been taken by SIGNAL, a non-governmental, independent non-profit Israeli organization.  This advance, aimed at increasing academic relations between Israel and China, may at this stage be relatively small, and not a giant leap for mankind, but it is the first step in the thousand-mile journey that will leave its prints on academic and student exchanges between the two countries.  It is always better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.

Arab News: US re-indictment of Indian diplomat irks Delhi— NEW DELHI: India on Saturday said it was “disappointed” by new US visa fraud charges against an Indian diplomat over her employment of a domestic servant and warned the move could reignite a bitter row between the countries. Government spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said India was “disappointed” the US Justice Department “chose to obtain a second indictment” against Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade even though a US judge threw out similar charges earlier in the week. “Any measures consequent to this decision in the US will unfortunately impact upon efforts on both sides to build the India-US strategic partnership, to which both sides are committed,” the Indian spokesman warned.

Richard Baehr: US foreign policy and midterm elections— There is rarely a break from electoral politics in the United States. If there is one, it is usually in the first year after a presidential election. By the second year, both major political parties are fighting over House, Senate, and governor races, plus state legislative elections. By the third year, the next presidential race is fully underway, with candidates lining up to woo campaign workers, fundraisers, party professionals, pollsters, advisers and influential media to create buzz about their chances. Things accelerate in the four year in a president’s second term in office.

Elvira F. Hasty: Misleading the Faithful— For the first time in history, humanity possesses the knowledge and skill to relieve poverty in the world.  The number of poor people in the world fell by half from 1990 to 2010 due mostly to capitalism and free trade.  Why then do Catholic Church leaders continue to criticize capitalism as an evil market tool that hurts the poor and disadvantaged?  Why are our Catholic bishops allowing “social justice” programs in our parishes as well as the progressive “Common Core” curricula in Catholic schools?  Why are Catholic bishops demanding amnesty for illegal aliens and, at the same time an increase in the minimum wage?  These last two issues alone would surely hurt working American citizens by increasing unemployment. Just when the world is beginning to wake up to the nightmare of socialist/communist agenda, our Catholic leaders mislead with disinformation that props it up.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Zechariah 13: 1-6

“In that day a fountain will be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for impurity. It will come about in that day,” declares Yahweh Sabaoth, “that I will cut off the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered; and I will also remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land. And if anyone still prophesies, then his father and mother who gave birth to him will say to him, ‘You shall not live, for you have spoken falsely in the name of Yahweh’; and his father and mother who gave birth to him will pierce him through when he prophesies. Also it will come about in that day that the prophets will each be ashamed of his vision when he prophesies, and they will not put on a hairy robe in order to deceive; but he will say, ‘I am not a prophet; I am a tiller of the ground, for a man sold me as a slave in my youth.’ And one will say to him, ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will say, ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.’”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
