Michael Curtis—Yes, Mr. Erekat, Jesus was a Jew:

The kindest thing one can say about Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian “negotiator,” is that he suffers, or pretends to suffer, from delusions or fantasies.  How else can one explain his statement on January 31, 2014 at a conference in Munich when he specified the reason for the Palestinian refusal to accept Israel as a Jewish state?  To do so, he said, would be “asking me to change my narrative.”

That fabricated Palestinian narrative of victimhood has concocted hyperbolic and inaccurate commentaries about Middle East history and Israeli policies.  Erekat has employed it, as many other critics and boycotters of Israel have done, for political ends.

Lee Bender and Jerome Verlin: Palestinian Arabs – The People Who Always Refuse a State: There are many peoples on this planet that would do anything for their independence, sovereignty, and a state of their own if it was offered to them. Just ask the Kurds, Tibetans, Basques, and Chechens. ‎Yet there is one singular group that continues to spurn offers of statehood, missing and wasting numerous opportunities, and blaming others for its “victimhood”- and then commits horrendous acts of terrorism and violence when offered almost all of what it wants. We are referring, of course, to the Palestinian Arabs – a people who, unlike the Kurds, do not have their own religion, language, or culture that’s different in essence from their Arab brethren in neighboring ‎Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon. The Palestinian Arabs have answered every peace offer for their own “Palestinian” state with one unequivocal word, “no,” and then initiated a wave of hatred, violence, and terrorism. The reason? Because it would also mean recognition of and co-existence with a non-Arab people, the Jews.

Jonathan Tobin: The Long Iran Stall Begins Again—It’s not just that the Iranians are pouring cold water on any optimism about the negotiations, with their Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei saying they “will lead nowhere” or his representatives’ adamant refusal to even discuss the dismantling of any of their nuclear infrastructure.

Shlomo Avineri: Don’t Expect Abbas to Sign Anything—As prime minister, Ehud Olmert met 36 times with PA President Mahmoud Abbas and couldn’t reach an agreement with him. Olmert was prepared to go further than any other Israeli leader in meeting the Palestinians’ demands, but when Olmert proposed that Abbas sign a document containing the Israeli concessions, he refused. This is exactly what happened in 1995 in Yossi Beilin’s talks with Abbas. There was never any Beilin-Abbas agreement. There was only a paper laying out Israeli concessions. Abbas will talk as long as the talks are designed to lead Israel to make more and more concessions. Then he will bring the negotiations to a halt, so they can be restarted in the future “where they left off”: with all the previous Israeli concessions included, and no concessions having been put forward by the Palestinian side.

Khaled Abu Toameh: Palestinians: Keep Religion on ID Cards— The row that erupted shows that among Palestinians, opposition to recognition of Israel as a Jewish state remains widespread. It also shows what awaits non-Muslims in a future Palestinian state controlled by Sharia Law. Regardless of Abbas’s motives, it is clear that Hamas and other Palestinians continue to seek and Islamic state where non-Musloms would be subjected to Sharia and enjoy fewer rights. Those who think that any Christian or Jew would be welcomed under an Islamic regime are living in a delusion.

Caroline Glick: The anti-Zionist challenge to the Jewish establishment— There is a difference between speech and war. Both are forms of expression, to be sure. But the essence of the former is engagement, and the essence of the latter is destruction. This distinction is apparently too subtle for many of Israel’s Supreme Court justices. On Sunday, the Court heard arguments on the constitutionality of the 2011 Anti-Boycotts law. The law allows targets of boycotts to sue boycotters for damages in civil courts, and empowers the finance minister to revoke the non-profit status of NGOs that engage in boycotts. It is being challenged by a consortium of foreign-funded, radical, anti-Zionist NGOs.

Ruthie Blum: Kerry’s gaseous emissions— Every time it seems American foreign policy couldn’t get any worse, Secretary of State John Kerry comes along to set the record straight. The weekend was no exception. In Indonesia on Sunday, during the last leg of an Asia tour that included South Korea and China, Kerry took the opportunity to talk about the dangers of climate change. The speech he delivered in Jakarta at the U.S. Embassy-run American Center took place a day after a second round of “peace talks” in Geneva between representatives of Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government and members of the opposition ended at an impasse. (Ironically, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem also raised the issue of climate, but he wasn’t referring to global temperatures. Rather, he was blaming the U.S. for “creating a very negative climate for dialogue in Geneva.”)

Scott Peterson: Rouhani Has a Firm Belief in Iran’s Islamic Revolution—Those who were dancing in the streets after the election of President Hassan Rouhani misplaced their hope, says Hamidreza Taraghi, a conservative politician who has known Rouhani for 42 years and first introduced him to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “[Rouhani] is not the person they think he is,” says Taraghi. “He has a firm belief in the pillars of the revolution, which are the supreme leader and the Islamic system, although his word choices are quite different from Ahmadinejad, and his friendship with reformists is much more.”

Jihad Watch: Iran’s Supremo: Americans are “enemies of Islamic Revolution and of Iran,” negotiations “will not bring an end to this enmity”— Ali Khamenei: Certain people, who try to conceal the true face of America, should not do so. They should not conceal America’s ugliness, barbarism, and violence against our nation. They try to portray its government as friendly. They should not do so. It is futile.

Jonathan Tobin: Robert Malley and the Shift to Appeasement—Back in 2008 when Barack Obama first ran for president, one of the many signals he sent to Jewish groups to reassure them of his good will toward Israel and his foreign-policy bona fides was to sever ties with Robert Malley. Malley, a Clinton-era National Security Council staffer, is best known for his stand blaming Israel rather than Yasir Arafat for the collapse of the 2000 Camp David peace summit. His position as an informal advisor to the Obama campaign was a major liability for a candidate desperate to reassure Jewish Democrats that he could be relied upon to maintain the alliance with Israel. But when it became known in May of 2008 that Malley had met with Hamas terrorists, the Obama campaign severed ties with Malley.

Investor’s Business Daily Editorial: The FCC Plan To Police The Newsrooms—First Amendment: The FCC has cooked up a plan to place “researchers” in U.S. newsrooms, supposedly to learn all about how editorial decisions are made. Any questions as to why the U.S. is falling in the free press rankings? As if illegal seizures of Associated Press phone records and the shadowy tailing of the mother of a Fox News reporter weren’t menacing enough, the Obama administration is going out of its way to institute a new intrusive surveillance of the press, as if the press wasn’t supine enough. Ajit Pai, a commissioner with the Federal Communications Commission, warned this week in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that a plan to dispatch researchers into radio, television and even newspaper newsrooms called the “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs” is still going forward, despite the grave danger it presented to the First Amendment.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Zechariah 6: 11-15

“Take silver and gold, make an ornate crown and set it on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Then say to him, ‘Thus says Yahweh Sabaoth, “Behold, a man whose name is Branch, for He will branch out from where He is; and He will build the temple of Yahweh. Yes, it is He who will build the temple of Yahweh, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.”’ Now the crown will become a reminder in the temple of Yahweh to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah and Hen the son of Zephaniah. Those who are far off will come and build the temple of Yahweh.” Then you will know that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you. And it will take place if you completely obey Yahweh your God.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
