Jonathan S. Tobin: The U.S. and the Murders at the Cathedral— Assurances about the benign intent of the Muslim Brotherhood have been the coin of the realm in Washington in the past year as the Obama administration justified its continued embrace of the Egyptian government. But even though we are still being told that there is no alternative to engagement with Mohamed Morsi’s regime, the escalation of anti-Christian violence ought to shock Americans into the realization that they are subsidizing a regime bent on oppressing religious minorities.

4--Scripture of the Day

Daniel 5: 29-31

Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the third ruler in the kingdom. That same night Belshazzar the Chaldean king was slain. So Darius the Mede received the kingdom at about the age of sixty-two.

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

Todd Starnes: Army Email Labels Christian Ministries as ‘Domestic Hate Groups’— A U.S. Army officer sent an email to dozens of subordinates listing the American Family Association and Family Research Council as “domestic hate groups” because they oppose homosexuality — and warned officers to monitor soldiers who might be supporters of the groups. “Just want to ensure everyone is somewhat educated on some of the groups out there that do not share our Army Values,” read an email from LTC Jack Rich to three dozen subordinates at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. “When we see behaviors that are inconsistent with Army Values, don’t just walk by – do the right thing and address the concern before it becomes a problem.”

Simon de Hundehutte: The Church’s Fading Influence on American Culture—Religion, or more accurately, the Christian way of life, is being shoved out of not only politics but the American culture.

Andrew Harrod: Persecuted on All Sides: Christians in the Modern World—A new book chronicles the shocking global religious cleansing of the followers of Christ.

Ari Lieberman: Beware of the Revisionists—How Israel’s enemies are distorting the truth about the Arab world’s genocidal war against the Jewish State.

Edmund Sanders: Kerry leaves Israel with hopes, but few results— Wrapping up his first solo visit in a renewed Obama administration campaign to restart peace talks, Secretary of State John Kerry left Israel on Tuesday with few signs of progress and a vow to keep trying.

Prof. Abraham Ben-Zvi: What makes John Kerry tick?— It appears John Kerry is more determined to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict than Barack Obama is.

Nicholas Blanford: Iran’s ‘axis of resistance’ loses its Palestinian arm to Syrian war— Before the uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad began in 2011, Hamas was a key ally of Damascus and a component of the Iran-led “axis of resistance” that challenged Israel and the West in the Middle East.

Amir Taheri: The Art of Turning Neighbors into Enemies—By all accounts Azerbaijan should be Iran’s closest ally. The republic on the Caspian Sea is home to nine million people with strong ethnic, historic, and religious ties to the Iranian people. In Iran, 12 million people in five provinces speak a version of Azeri. The areas that form Azerbaijan were part of the Iranian heartland for more than 25 centuries. Iran lost them in two disastrous wars with Tsarist Russia in 1824 and 1830. With Shi’ite Muslims representing 85% of the population, Azerbaijan also shares strong religious ties with Iran.

Phillip Smyth: The Worsening State of Libya’s Christians—What began as a Western-backed chance to assist Libyans in gaining freedom from an oppressive dictator has resulted, according to some reports, in nearly the entire population of 100,000 Libyan Christians leaving the country. The rising power of numerous radical Islamist militias, which have recently launched a low-scale terror war against Christians, is increasingly being felt throughout the country.

Kim Zigfeld: The Russian Military and the New Cold War—Despite being least able to afford it, Russia appears intent on outspending the rest of the world on its military. When have we seen this before.

Maayana Miskin: Syrian Rebels Sought Intel on Israel— An Israeli Arab man from Taibe has been arrested for illegally entering Syria and fighting with the Global Jihad rebel group. The man, 28-year-old Hakhmat Othman Hassin Matsarwa, entered Syria with two goals: to join Global Jihad and fight the Syrian army, and to find his brother Hassin, who had left for Syria to fight with rebels several months earlier.

Ahmad Hashemi: Why the Arab Spring failed: Anti-Semitism— About two years ago, when the so-called pro-democracy movement, better known as the “Arab Spring,” began in the region, many commentators hailed it as “a great step forward,” “a turning point in the contemporary Arab world history”, and a “fourth wave of democratization.” I remember those days very well because my colleagues at Iran’s foreign ministry were very excited. Like most Iranians, they supported the toppling of the old tyrants in the Arab world. Many of my colleagues were saying – in private of course – that Iran would be next in the domino effect, and the whole region would take great strides towards democracy.

Laura Shackelford: New Gun Control Laws Face a Tough Constitutional Test— Nearly everyone in Washington knows that Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s fatally flawed gun grab bill has little support in Congress. When Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that he would not include Sen. Feinstein’s gun control bill in his package to be voted on by the full Senate later this spring, the air rushed out Sen. Feinstein’s lead balloon. But after the American Civil Liberties Union recently voiced “serious concerns” about the latest version of the democrat’s gun control bill, essentially agreeing with the National Rifle Association and several Constitutional experts, it sent a strong signal that the knee jerk gun control legislation sponsored by many on the left, is doomed to fail.

Billy Hallowell: Colorado Sheriff Alleges Shock Training to the Blaze: Department of Homeland Security Bound Official Warned Against ‘Christians Who Take the Bible Literally.’— This weekend, an email written by Ron Trowbridge, the undersheriff of Prowers County, Colorado, started sweeping some of the viral corners of the internet. It alleges that a Colorado State Police training encouraged law enforcement officials to look at Bible-believing Christians with intense skepticism.

Matthew Vadum: Selling Out on Guns—Former NRA-endorsed senators embrace attack on Second Amendment, but the opposition stands strong.

Bill Straubz: Reid’s ‘Nuclear Option’ Looms as Judicial Nominees Stall—Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid is threatening anew to change the chamber’s filibuster rules if the pace of confirmations for nominees to the federal judiciary, often the targets of Republican stalling tactics, doesn’t speed up.

Ian Smith: Eric Holder’s Schedule: Frequent Meetings With Race-Based Groups—Attorney General Eric Holder began his tenure by calling Americans cowards regarding racial issues. Newly released documents reveal that Holder’s schedule shows a preoccupation with racial issues: he spends an inordinate amount of time meeting with race-centered organizations.

Larry Elder: Five Decades of Lies Help Dems Create Monolithic Black Vote—Why keeping blacks ignorant of history remains crucial to the Left’s future.

Walter E. Williams: Black Unemployment— A couple of weeks ago, Black Entertainment Television founder Bob Johnson, speaking at The National Press Club, said the nation “would never tolerate white unemployment at 14 and 15 percent.” Black unemployment has been double that of white Americans for more than 50 years. The black youth unemployment rate is more than 40 percent nationally. In some cities, unemployment for black working-age males is more than 50 percent. Let’s look at this, but first let’s look at some history.

Jacob Sullum: Obama’s Abuse of Dead Children– “This is about doing the right thing for all the families who are here that have been torn apart by gun violence,” President Obama declared on Monday, promoting his “common-sense gun safety reforms” in a speech at the University of Hartford, where the audience included parents of children who were murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary School in nearby Newtown last December. “This is not about politics.” Unless you disagree with him. “There is only one thing that can stand in the way of change,” Obama said, “and that’s politics in Washington.” Members of Congress have a simple choice to make, he explained: “What’s more important to you — our children, or an A grade from the gun lobby?”

Daniel Greenfield: The Chicagoization of America—How the forces that destroyed the city are destroying the nation.

James V Capua: ‘If We Can Save Just One Child…’—There’s much more to that Adam Lanza story than the media (or the politicians) have let on.

Thomas Lifson: The Warmist Empire Strikes Back—The ruling elites of the post-Gramsci intellectual establishment have many weapons with which to fight back against gains of the skeptics.

Thomas Lifson: Architect of ObamaCare admits it is ‘just beyond comprehension’—That’s what happens when people who have never run anything in their lives more complicated than their own mouths start organizing everyone else’s lives.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
