This is the Word of Yahweh:
Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh. (Jeremiah 12: 14-17)

Isaiah 66: 3-4—“But he who kills an ox is like one who slays a man; he who sacrifices a lamb is like the one who breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers a grain offering is like one who offers swine’s blood; he who burns incense is like the one who blesses an idol. As they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations, so I will choose their punishments and will bring on them what they dread. Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sight and chose that in which I did not delight.”

People make a terrible mistake when they expect Yahweh to react to every foolish step they take.
A man fell from the top of a 100-story building. On the way down, he passed a man who was standing at an open window on the 50th floor. The man inside the building said to the falling man as he was passing by, “How are you doing?” The falling man didn’t have much time. All he said was, “So far so good.”
Consider “gay” marriage and civil unions. Yahweh’s position on homosexuality is crystal clear even though some foolish Christians do their best to rewrite the Bible by pretending that Yahweh didn’t mean what He said. One after another, states are voting to legalize “gay” marriage and civil unions, and the federal government is backing away from enforcing The Defense of Marriage Act.
Judging by pundits’ reactions, people don’t have a clue who Yahweh is or how He operates. An editorial in yesterday’s Chicago Tribune titled A sound decision on gay marriage is a perfect example. This short paragraph from the editorial tells the tale: “Law and public opinion are evolving on this issue, and the right forums for that debate are the states. The Illinois legislature recently approved civil unions. It was a sound decision, and the sky didn’t fall.”
People make a terrible mistake when they expect Yahweh to react to every foolish step they take. The sky won’t fall because we humans make bad choices, but Yahweh is watching and waiting. In due course, He’ll make Himself heard, and it won’t be pretty. According the Bible, He will rip open the sky and make a personal appearance. That’s called the End of Days, but we’re not there yet. In the meantime, we have to contend with the mental, emotional, and health consequences associated with wonton perversity. I’ve talked about them before in previous SnyderTalk editorials, so I won’t repeat them here, but I will say this. Thumbing your nose at Yahweh produces horrible consequences in real time – long before the final verdict is in.
You can be certain of this fact. Yahweh will make Himself known, and when He does, it will be too late to repent. C.S. Lewis put it this way in Mere Christianity:
“When that happens (when Yahweh returns), it is the end of the world. When the author walks on to the stage the play is over. God is going to invade, all right: but what is the good of saying you are on His side then, when you see the whole natural universe melting away like a dream and something else — something it never entered your mind to conceive — comes crashing in; something so beautiful to some of us and so terrible to others that none of us will have any choice left? For this time it will be God without disguise; something so overwhelming that it will strike either irresistible love or irresistible horror into every creature. It will be too late then to choose your side. There is no use saying you choose to lie down when it has become impossible to stand up. That will not be the time for choosing: it will be the time when we discover which side we really have chosen, whether we realised it before or not. Now, to-day, this moment, is our chance to choose the right side. God is holding back to give us that chance. It will not last forever. We must take it or leave it.” (Lewis, C. S., Mere Christianity, HarperSanFrancisco, New York, New York, 1952, p. 65)
The man falling from the building was heading for a certain future. In a matter of seconds he would be a mangled mess on the sidewalk. He didn’t have much time to think about his pithy “so far so good” appraisal of his predicament. Thankfully, we still have time – but not much. It’s insane for us to use the “so far so good” criterion to assess our situation.
