Messiah means “Anointed One,” and Genesis 3: 15 is the first verse in the Bible that mentions Him: “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel.”
The seed of the woman is the Messiah, and Satan is the one He will bruise on the head. In this verse, Yahweh says Satan will wound the Messiah, but He will achieve victory in the end, redeem His people, and destroy His archenemy. Christians are not the only ones who have interpreted this verse as a Messianic prophecy. Midrash Rabbah, an ancient rabbinic commentary, says this about Genesis 3: 15: “R. (Rabbi) Tanhuma said in the name of Samuel Kozith: [She hinted at] that seed which would arise from another source, viz. the king Messiah.” (Midrash Rabbah XXIII 5-6. As quoted in Dr. Moore’s book The End of History—The Messiah Conspiracy, Vol. I, p. 9.)
The most unlikely prophecy about the Messiah is found in Isaiah 7: 14. A virgin will bear this Child. The probability of a virgin having a child in Isaiah’s day was almost zero (if not zero), and it could not have happened at all until the late-twentieth century except under very rare circumstances. Even today virgins cannot bear children without the aid of sophisticated medical technology, and at great cost, unless they have an incredibly unusual medical condition.
Some Bible scholars argue that the Hebrew word translated as “virgin” in Isaiah 7: 14 can also mean a young girl or a young, recently married woman. Therefore, they believe God was simply saying that a “maiden” or young girl would have a child. However, the Hebrew word translated as virgin, “almah,” is used seven times in the Old Testament: Genesis 24: 43, Exodus 2: 8, Proverbs 30: 18, Psalm 68: 25, Isaiah 7: 14, and Song of Songs 1: 3 and 6: 8. In each instance it speaks of a virgin as we understand the meaning of the word. Also, the 70 rabbis who translated the Greek Septuagint Tanach in the third century B.C. used the Greek word “parthenos” which means “virgin” as we use the term today.
If we look at the context in which the prophecy about a virgin bearing a child was made, we can see that Yahweh’s message was that something that was seemingly impossible was about to happen. At that time, King Ahaz of Judah was afraid that his kingdom would be attacked and conquered by two allied kings from the north—Razon King of Aram and Pekah King of Israel. Yahweh assured him that they would not be successful, and He instructed Isaiah to tell Ahaz to ask Him for a sign—any sign—to prove the truth of His Word:
“Ask a sign for yourself from Yahweh your God; make it deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” (Isaiah 7: 11)
Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test Yahweh.” (Isaiah 7: 12)
Ahaz’s reply infuriated Isaiah. He said, “Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well? “Therefore Yahweh Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with Child and bear a Son, and she will call His Name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7: 13-14)
This prophecy cannot refer to a maiden or a young woman. If a maiden or a young woman had a child, would anyone consider it to be a sign from God that is “deep as Sheol or high as heaven?” Obviously not! That would be an ordinary childbirth, and no one would interpret it as a great sign. But if a virgin had a Child, everyone would believe it was a sign from God.

- Nuclear agency secret report says Iran can make bomb, developing delivery system
- Iran reformist attacked; Ahmadinejad slams Israel
The second article begins this way: “Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashed out at Israel and the West saying Friday the Holocaust was a lie and a pretext for occupying Palestinian lands, while hard-liners attacked a reformist cleric who was marching with the opposition at an anti-government rally in Tehran.”
That gives us a pretty clear picture of what Iran has become under the leadership of radical Islamofascist crazies. It should help any reasonable person understand why Israeli leaders think they can’t permit Iran to have nuclear weapons. You need to keep in mind that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes he has a prominent role to play in the Mahdi’s coming. From his point of view, the Mahdi is the prophesied redeemer of Islam who will precede the Day of the Resurrection. I bring this up to point out that the discussion in SnyderTalk about the Messiah is not an academic exercise. You need to be aware that the Messiah’s role is being discussed right now by heads of state. I’m afraid that most of them do not know the true Messiah, so their understanding is flawed. Don’t be deceived. There is only One Messiah, and His Name is Yahweh. (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
The articles below will help you understand Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s perspective on the Mahdi:

There is more to this than meets the eye. You need to explore and discover what the Islamic view is toward locations over which they claim “sovereignty.” For instance, once Muslims claimed the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, in their view it could never belong to Yahweh again. That’s why to this day Christians and Jews are not permitted to pray on the Temple Mount. If they do, they are subject to arrest. I mentioned that a while back in SnyderTalk when a rabbi claimed that his group prayed while they were on the Temple Mount. The Islamic authorities in Jerusalem responded by saying they violated international law. That’s nonsense of course, but it gives you some idea how deeply they feel about this issue.
Religious Muslims routinely claim sovereignty over sites that people of other faiths revere. They’ve done it all over the world. It may not mean much to you, but it means a lot to religious Muslims and to Islamofascist crazies. This may surprise you, but I think it means a lot to Yahweh. Human action, or inaction, doesn’t change the ultimate outcome, but our faith, or lack of it, matters a lot. Read 1 and 2 Kings and 1 and 2 Chronicles and see what I mean.
