“Seek Yahweh while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and let him return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him. Turn to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.”

The President Needs to Weed Out the Weak Players at the DOD During His Second Term

See “Esper risks being sidelined as White House floats replacements”.

Mark Esper is the secretary of defense. That’s an important position, but at the end of the day, Esper is just one of many political appointees.

Some political appointees work out. Others don’t. Esper is another Trump appointee that didn’t work out.

Mark Esper Needs to Go

Esper committed the unpardonable sin for political appointees. He went public with criticism of the president. Appointees in high-level positions like secretary of defense are free to say just about anything to the president in private settings. In cabinet meetings, they must be more discrete, but taking sides against the president in cabinet meetings is okay, too.

Once the president makes a decision, his appointees are expected to get onboard with it or get out. Esper’s comments the other day should have been made after he submitted his resignation, or they should not have been made at all.

Esper in finished. He didn’t have enough common sense or integrity to resign before criticizing the president publicly. Maybe he’ll muster the courage to do the right thing after he is iced out of the decision-making process.

Obama Almost Destroyed the U.S. Military

Something is desperately wrong in the U.S. military at the general staff level. Barack Obama spent 8 years eviscerating the military, and for the most part, the general staff was conspicuously silent.  There were mutterings by a few of them, but that’s all.

President Trump’s admiration of the military has been obvious since Day One of his presidency. He has given the generals and admirals more power than they have had in our government since World War II.  Many of them have been dismal failures. That’s an indication that our military needs a complete overhaul.

Mad Dog Mattis

Former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis committed the second cardinal sin. He presumed to know what is going on inside the president’s head and broadcast his assumptions publicly as though they were facts.

The media ran with Mattis’ story. That’s not a surprise. The fact that Mattis gave the media a story to run with is a surprise.

See “James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution”.

I thought Lt. Col. Vindman was an anomaly in the military. I was wrong. Obama left our military without a lot more than bullets. He left us with bench-warmers, platoon players, to run the show.

During President Trump’s second term, he needs to weed out the weak players at the DOD.

For What It’s Worth

For what it’s worth, I was proud of President Trump for walking to St. John’s Episcopal Church with Bible in hand to send a message to the American people and to the Democrat-led Antifa mob that tried to burn it down.  I understood the message.  I think the mob got the message, too.

Obviously, people at the highest level in the Pentagon didn’t get it.  Neither did the media.  Maybe there are jobs available for Esper and Mattis at CNN or MSNBC.

History won’t treat Esper or Mattis kindly.  President Trump is working for the American people.  They are pushing a politically correct political agenda that is hurting our country badly.

“I pray…that they may all be one, even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one. I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 21-24)
