“Trust Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

The Trinity?

I don’t want to get into a fruitless debate with anyone, but I do want to say a few things about “the Trinity”:

  1. Genesis 1: 1—“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” That’s the first verse in the Bible.  Elohim is the Hebrew word that’s translated as “God”.  Elohim is a plural word.  Yahweh doesn’t make mistakes.
  2. Genesis 1: 26—“Then Elohim said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’” This verse suggests that Yahweh is talking with a manifestation of His Divine Being, an interpretation that is consistent with the meaning of the Hebrew word “Elohim”.
  3. Numbers 6: 24-26—“Yahweh bless you and keep you; Yahweh make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; Yahweh turn His face toward you and give you peace.” The Name Yahweh designates 3 Persons.  The first Person is called “the Father”.  The second Person is called “the Son”.  The third Person is called “the Holy Spirit”.  These verses refer to 3 blessings by 3 Beings.
  4. Isaiah 48: 16—“Come near to Me, listen to this: from the first I have not spoken in secret, from the time it took place, I was there. And now Adonai Yahweh has sent Me, and His Spirit.” In this verse, Yahweh refers to Himself as 3 distinct Beings.  First, we are told to come near and listen.  Then the Speaker (i.e., the Messiah) explains that He was in the beginning with Yahweh and that Yahweh sent Him and His Spirit to earth.  All 3 were together in the beginning.  The Father sent the Messiah and His Spirit to earth for a purpose.

The first verse in the Bible tells us that our Creator has more than one form.  As we read on, we learn that He has three forms.  We call one of them the Holy Spirit.  Actually, it’s Ruach Yahweh (the Spirit of Yahweh) or Ruach haKodesh (the Holy Spirit).  The Messiah is the human form of Yahweh.  We know that because Jeremiah told us His Name. It’s Yahweh Tsidkenu or Yahweh our Righteousness. (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)  The other form is the Father.  He’s a Spirit, too, but He is not the One referred to in the Bible as Ruach Yahweh or Ruach haKodesh.

They are referred to collectively as “the Trinity” even though the word “Trinity” doesn’t appear in the Bible.  It’s an indisputable fact, though, that the Bible tells us we have a triune Elohim (the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit), and they share the Name Yahweh.

Conclusion

Some people enjoy fruitless debate.  I don’t, because I have OTTD: Other Things To Do.

Since the word “Trinity” doesn’t appear in the Bible, some people are hypersensitive about the use of the word “Trinity”.  I’m not.  Yahweh refers to Himself as three distinct Beings.  That’s good enough for me.  The word “Trinity” means 3.

Read His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition.

I learned this lesson a long time ago.  Let Yahweh be Yahweh, and avoid fruitless debate.  Since I have OTTD, avoiding fruitless debate saves me a lot of time.

Technically, no one can “save time”.  Either you use time or you lose time.  Every second that I waste in fruitless debate is a second that I could have used doing something meaningful.  That’s what I mean when I say, “I have OTTD.”

Anyone who wants to debate the Trinity should look for people who have free time on their hands.  For me, free time is a luxury.  I don’t want to waste it.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
