Yahweh is Just as Serious Now as He Ever Was

Daniel was a faithful follower of Yahweh.  Along with other Jewish people in Jerusalem at the time of the Babylonian Captivity, he was taken to Babylon to live out the rest of his days.  He prospered there and served Yahweh and the King of Babylon.

As the Babylonian Captivity was coming to an end, Daniel studied the prophet Jeremiah to determine exactly when it would end:

In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of Median descent, who was made king over the kingdom of the Chaldeans—in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, observed in the books the number of the years which was revealed as the word of Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet for the completion of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years. So, I gave my attention to Adonai Elohim to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to Yahweh my Eloha and confessed and said, “Alas, O Adonai, the great and awesome HaEl, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those who love Him and keep His commandments, we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly and rebelled, even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. Moreover, we have not listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your Name to our kings, our princes, our fathers and all the people of the land.” (Daniel 9: 1-6)

What did Jeremiah say?

“Therefore thus says Yahweh Sabaoth, ‘Because you have not obeyed My words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them and make them a horror and a hissing, and an everlasting desolation. Moreover, I will take from them the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp. This whole land will be a desolation and a horror, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Then it will be when seventy years are completed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation,’ declares Yahweh, ‘for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and I will make it an everlasting desolation.’” (Jeremiah 25: 8-12)

Sabbatical and Jubilee Years

Judah was kept in captivity in Babylon for 70 years to atone for the Sabbatical years and Jubilee years that the people had failed to observe in the land.

Sabbatical Year

Yahweh then spoke to Moses at Mount Sinai, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I shall give you, then the land shall have a sabbath to Yahweh. Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard and gather in its crop, but during the seventh year the land shall have a sabbath rest, a sabbath to Yahweh.  You shall not sow your field nor prune your vineyard. Your harvest’s aftergrowth you shall not reap, and your grapes of untrimmed vines you shall not gather. The land shall have a sabbatical year.” (Leviticus 25:1-5)

Jubilee Year

“You are also to count off seven sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years, so that you have the time of the seven sabbaths of years, namely, forty-nine years. You shall then sound a ram’s horn abroad on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of atonement you shall sound a horn all through your land. You shall thus consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim a release through the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, and each of you shall return to his own property, and each of you shall return to his family. You shall have the fiftieth year as a jubilee; you shall not sow, nor reap its aftergrowth, nor gather in from its untrimmed vines. For it is a jubilee. It shall be holy to you. You shall eat its crops out of the field.” (Leviticus 25: 8-12)

Yahweh had Warned Israel about the Consequence of Ignoring His Commands Concerning Sabbatical Years and Jubilee Years

“Yet if in spite of this you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me, then I will act with wrathful hostility against you, and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins. Further, you will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you will eat. I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your remains on the remains of your idols, for My soul shall abhor you. I will lay waste your cities as well and will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell your soothing aromas. I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled over it. You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste. Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies’ land. Then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation, it will observe the rest which it did not observe on your sabbaths, while you were living on it.” (Leviticus 26:27-35)

Yahweh told Judah that Punishment was on the Way

Yahweh, the Elohim of their fathers, sent word to them again and again by His messengers, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place; but they continually mocked the messengers of HaElohim, despised His words and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of Yahweh arose against His people, until there was no remedy. Therefore, He brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or infirm. He gave them all into his hand. All the articles of the house of HaElohim, great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king and of his officers, he brought them all to Babylon. Then they burned the house of HaElohim and broke down the wall of Jerusalem, and burned all its fortified buildings with fire and destroyed all its valuable articles. Those who had escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, and they were servants to him and to his sons until the rule of the kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the word of Yahweh by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed its sabbaths. All the days of its desolation it kept sabbath until seventy years were complete. (2 Chronicles 36: 15-21)

Yahweh is Serious

When Yahweh says something, He means it.  When He told the Children of Israel to allow the Promised Land to enjoy a Sabbatical Year every 7th year, he meant it.  When He told them to recognize another Sabbatical Year each 50th year as Jubilee Year, He meant that, too.

Israel and Judah ignored Yahweh.  The land was fertile, so they sowed it every year.  The thought of sacrificing the earnings they could reap by planting and selling crops was more than they could bear.

Disobedience cost them dearly.  Israel was exiled completely and remains in exile to this day.  Judah spent 70 years in exile, but they returned to Judah under King Cyrus.

Yahweh hasn’t Changed

Yahweh is the same today as He was yesterday.  He’ll be the same tomorrow as He is today.  We ignore Him at our own peril.

LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer) is one of the latest fads.  Perverts parade in front of us flaunting their depravity.  Some of them mock Yahweh by saying, “God made me this way,” but Yahweh didn’t do it.  They did it to themselves.

They proudly display their debauchery in cities all over the world including Jerusalem.  Political leaders in most countries including Israel trip over each other trying to get out front to declare their support for things that we know Yahweh abhors.  He calls those perversions detestable sins, abominations.

Will there be consequences?

Of course, there will be consequences.  Yahweh hasn’t changed.

BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) is a movement that was created by so-called “Palestinians” to destroy the State of Israel.  Several countries are on-board with it already.  Pressure is growing in other countries to get on-board with it.  Along with BDS, anti-Semitism is increasing globally.

Will there be consequences?

Of course, there will be consequences.  Yahweh hasn’t changed.

It sickens me when people profess support for these and other movements that I know Yahweh loathes from the core of His being, and they do it with a mocking air.  They don’t know Yahweh.  Their words and their actions betray them.  They are lost souls.

For some, it’s just a silly game.  They have no idea what is at stake.  Many people are dreadfully insecure.  They think that going along with the crowd and approving despicable behavior will make people like them.  Others are not very smart.

The reasons are unimportant.  Their rejection of Yahweh is critical.  It’s a deadly serious matter.

Yahweh isn’t a fairy tale character or an imaginary friend.  He’s the Creator and the Sovereign.  People who mock or ignore Him are His enemies.  If they don’t repent, there will be hell to pay.

Many of them will say, “I don’t believe in hell.”

What they believe is irrelevant.  I tell them, “One day you will know that hell exists.”

Yahweh is Still Serious

Yeshau came out from the temple and was going away when His disciples came up to point out the temple buildings to Him. And He said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone here will be left upon another, which will not be torn down.”

As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Yeshua answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.” (Matthew 24: 1-8)

Forty years later in 70 AD, just as Yeshua said, Yahweh’s Temple was destroyed by the Romans.  They didn’t leave one stone standing on another.  I need to point out that the Temple was destroyed, not the retaining wall around the Temple Mount complex.  The Messiah was talking about the Temple, not the retaining wall around the Temple Mount complex.

That was part of the beginning of birth pangs.  Much more and much worse is heading our way if we continue to mock Yahweh and ignore His commands.

Every Christian knows this verse and can recite it by rote:

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3: 16)

Few of those who can recite John 3: 16 have any idea about John 3: 36:

“He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not obey the Son will not see life. The wrath of Elohim abides on him.” (John 3: 36)

The Most Frightening Verses in the New Testament

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your Name, and in Your Name cast out demons, and in Your Name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you who practice lawlessness.’” (Matthew 7: 21-23)

Yahweh is just as serious now as He ever was.  People who are playing games with Him need to stop it.  Time is of the essence.  If their opinions don’t fall into line with Yahweh’s thinking, they have a problem.  They need to fix it by bringing their thinking into alignment with His thinking.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
