Many Jewish and Christian Traditions Hide Important Truths or Betray the Truth Completely

While I was teaching business strategy and leadership at the University of Virginia, Yahweh turned my attention toward the importance of His Name.  Eventually, I understood that I was supposed to write a book about it.  The book is titled His Name is Yahweh.

It took me 13 years to write and publish the book.  Thirteen years sounds like a long time, but from Yahweh’s perspective, it’s less than the blink of an eye.

In 1976, 35 years before I started the process of writing His Name is Yahweh, Yahweh told me that I would do something specific for Him.  I was working on a Ph.D. degree in business at the time.  What He was telling me made no sense to me, because it had nothing to do with business.

It didn’t matter.  As it turns out, a Ph.D. degree is about learning investigative and research skills.  If I had been working on a theology degree, I would have been inundated with dogma.  Turns out that dogma is the primary source of major problems in Christianity and Judaism.

In 2016, Yahweh showed me that He detests the title God, because it’s the name of a false deity variously pronounced as God, Gad, Gaud, and Gawd.  “Elohim” is the Hebrew word that’s translated as “God”.  I revised His Name is Yahweh to remove any mention of God in connection with Yahweh.  The title of the revised version is His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition.  It’s available in paperback and eBook, and it’s available for free in PFD format.

Writing His Name is Yahweh taught me many lessons.  One of the most important lessons I learned is that dogma and the traditions associated with dogma in religion betray the truth revealed in the Scriptures.  The best example of this is the Name Yahweh.

In the mid-2nd century BC, Jewish religious leaders forbade the use of the Name Yahweh (Sanhedrin 7: 5) even though Yahweh commanded us to tell the world about Him by Name.  That tradition made its way into Christianity, and today most Christians have never heard Yahweh’s Name in church.  Infinitely worse, they have no idea that the Messiah is Yahweh.  For details, read His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition.

There are many more examples.  Today, I want to talk about one of them.

Matthew 27: 46 and Mark 15: 34 quote the Messiah on the cross saying, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

The notion that Yahweh the Father could or would forsake Yahweh the Son is ludicrous, but that bit of dogma made its way into Christian tradition and was taught to seminary students as fundamental truth.  Theologians found what they thought was scriptural support for that ridiculous concept in Psalm 22: 1-2:

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?  Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish?  My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest.

Psalm 22 is a psalm of David, and David was a prophet.  He revealed to us many things about the Messiah, but Psalm 22: 1-2 is not about the Messiah on the cross.  It’s about David and the agony he was experiencing.

The Messiah didn’t say, “Why have You forsaken Me?”  In essence, He said, “Why is this taking so long?” or “I’m ready to die.  Let’s get on with it.”  In a matter of minutes, He yielded up His Spirit.  His blood sacrifice for our sins redeemed us and paved the way for our salvation.

For a detailed explanation, see Aramaic English New Testament by Andrew Gabriel Roth, page 86, note 261.

For centuries, pastors have been preparing torturous sermons trying to make sense of the nonsensical.  That has to stop.  The truth can be discovered, but it won’t be found in false dogma that is deeply embedded in Christian tradition.

Both Judaism and Christianity are loaded traditions that are not from Yahweh.  The fact that we don’t hear these things in synagogue or church is telling.

Yahweh’s faithful followers need to hear the truth.  Many Jewish and Christian traditions hide important truths or betray the truth completely.

Dogma and tradition are not good substitutes for Yahweh’s word.  Problem is most of the people teaching dogma and tradition don’t know they are doing it.  They think it’s the truth, because that’s what they were taught.

For My Jewish Friends who Ridicule the Notion that Yahweh has a Son

Psalm 2:

1 Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing?

2 The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying,

3 “Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!”

4 He who sits in the heavens laughs, Adonai scoffs at them.

5 Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying,

6 “But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.”

7 “I will surely tell of the decree of Yahweh: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.

8 ‘Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession.

9 ‘You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.’”

10 Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; take warning, O judges of the earth.

11 Worship Yahweh with reverence and rejoice with trembling.

12 Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

Isaiah 9: 6-7:

6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; and the government will rest on His shoulders; and His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. The zeal of Yahweh Sabaoth will accomplish this.

Proverbs 30: 4-6:

4 Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His son’s name? Surely you know!

5 Every word of Elohim is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

6 Do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

Yes, Yahweh has a Son.  His Name is Yahweh.  Surely you know!

Genesis 1: 1:

1 In the beginning Elohim created the heavens and the earth.

Elohim is a plural word. Yahweh used it in the first verse in the Bible for a reason.

SnyderTalk Comment:

This video does a great job of presenting many important truths, but it begins by trying to make sense of something that makes no sense.  Yahweh’s people need to hear the truth, not wild rationalization and speculation.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
