NPR—Stolen Iranian Nuclear Plans May Trigger New Inspections:

Former weapons inspectors say an apparent trove of information on Iran’s nuclear weapons program will increase pressure for more intrusive inspections of its atomic sites.

On Monday, the Israeli government disclosed it had obtained thousands of pages of documents and nearly 200 CDs’ worth of data on Iran’s nuclear program.

“Everything you’re about to see is an exact copy of the original Iranian material,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told reporters. His presentation included blueprints, photos and documents that he claimed were stolen from a vault in Tehran earlier this year.

Netanyahu said Israel was prepared to share the documentation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. The IAEA is the body charged with conducting comprehensive inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites under a 2015 deal that froze the nation’s nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief.

The IAEA has long known that Iran once had a nuclear weapon’s program, despite Iranian denials. That assessment is based on information provided to the agency by other countries, as well as the IAEA’s own efforts to probe sites inside the Islamic Republic.

In a 2015 report the IAEA provided numerous details about the old Iranian program, known as project AMAD. Nevertheless, former inspectors say the documents obtained by the Israelis could provide still more information about what the Iranians were up to in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

“Certainly if this is what they say it is, this is quite a jackpot,” says Olli Heinonen, a former weapons inspector who is now with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. Heinonen adds that the documents shown by Netanyahu appear to be authentic and are consistent with information contained in some unpublicized documents obtained by the IAEA when it was investigating the Iranian program.

SnyderTalk Comment:

Iran can’t be trusted.  The Iran nuclear deal is a perfect example.  It has provided cover for Iranian leaders to continue developing nuclear weapons while they rake in mountains of cash to support terrorist activities.

The Iran nuclear deal is Barack Obama’s legacy.  It’s not a treaty.  It was not ratified by the U.S. Senate.  It’s exactly what critics of the deal said it was before it was signed.  It’s a deal between Barack Obama and Iran.

In the video below, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu presents information that proves Iran is still working to develop nuclear weapons despite assurances that they are not.  In the next few days, President Trump will decide whether the U.S. will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal or renegotiate it.  During recent visits to the White House by French President Macron and German Chancellor Merkel, President Trump laid out his concerns.  Macron and Merkel are negotiating with him in hopes of keeping the U.S. in the Iran nuclear deal.

Iranian leaders have threatened to “wipe Israel off the map”.  On Israel’s northeast border with Syria, they are setting up military bases.  On Israel’s northwest border with Lebanon, they support Israel’s avowed enemy Hezbollah.  On Israel’s southwest border with Gaza, Iran supports Hamas, the Palestinian terror group masquerading as a political party.  In the West Bank, Iran supports the Palestinian Authority that’s run by Fatah.  It’s a terrorist organization, too, but it has an undeserved cloak of respectability.

If Iran develops nuclear weapons, Israel is vulnerable.  That’s why Prime Minister Netanyahu is so concerned.  He should be.

Finally, see “UN chief warns scrapping Iran nuclear deal could lead to war”:

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres warned Thursday against scrapping the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, saying that doing so without presenting a good alternative could lead to war.

The U.N. Secretary General must be as naïve as they come.  The drumbeat for war is resounding throughout the Middle East, and Iranian leaders are beating the drum. The Iran nuclear deal that Antonio Guterres fears will fall apart has made war between Iran and Israel and Iran and Saudi Arabia more likely, not less likely.  It needs to be renegotiated or scrapped.

Thankfully, President Trump is willing to do the right thing.  No amount of cajoling by the U.N. high command can keep him from doing his job.  It’s a Yahweh thing.

At this time, Yahweh is not a welcome guest at the U.N.  That’s a serious problem.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
