Jonathan S. Tobin—Has Trump Finally Figured It Out?:

Donald Trump was elected president with no government experience or in-depth knowledge of foreign policy. That ignorance was reflected in some of his first choices to fill key administration positions. Yet after another shakeup this week in which former UN Ambassador John Bolton replaces Gen. H.R. McMaster as national security advisor, it would appear that after 14 months, Trump finally has the team members he needs. The only question is whether the president will have the wisdom to listen to them.

As far as the mainstream media is concerned, McMaster’s exit is just another example of the revolving door of personnel that has cycled in and out of the White House during Trump’s presidency. Liberal critics are not only damning Bolton as just another television personality, but proof that chaos is the only guiding principle of this administration. He is depicted as a knee-jerk hawk who understands nothing about diplomacy and is only interested in getting the United States into wars. His past stand on the Iraq War and his lack of enthusiasm for diplomacy with North Korea also might put him at odds with Trump, who became a harsh retroactive critic of that war and has just agreed to meet with Kim Jong-un.

From that perspective, Bolton’s appointment makes no sense. Naysayers think that like Trump’s appointment of fellow hawk Mike Pompeo to replace Rex Tillerson as secretary of state, Bolton will be just another passing fancy who will be tossed out the next time the erratic commander-in-chief feels like overturning the administration apple cart once again.

Given the unpredictable nature of this president, it’s impossible to say with certainty that they’re wrong. However, we can only hope that Trump has, by a process of trial and error, finally figured out that what he needs are principled conservatives who see the world as it is, rather than through the prism of diplomatic wishful thinking. He needed aides unencumbered by the foreign policy establishment’s conventional wisdom about how to deal with America’s enemies. That’s exactly what he has now with Pompeo at the State Department, Nikki Haley at the United Nations and Bolton at his side in the White House.

SnyderTalk Comment:

President Trump is learning as he goes.  Every president must go through the process becoming effective.  That’s what we’ve been witnessing.

Throughout the process so far, the president has not wavered in his support for Israel, with one exception.  To date, he hasn’t come to grips with the “settlements” issue.  John Bolton should help him understand it, because he is a principled conservative who sees the world as it is.

I call it realism, and this is the reality.  Yahweh promised the Land of Israel to the descendants of Israel.  Nothing can change Yahweh’s promises.  That’s the reality with which President Trump must come to grips.

Many believers are confused about the importance of the people Israel and the Land of Israel to Yahweh.  They tend to base their beliefs on things that they think Paul said, but they haven’t accepted the fact that Paul didn’t and can’t change any promise that Yahweh made even slightly.  Thankfully, he didn’t try to do that, but others did.

Many things that Paul said have been seriously misunderstood.  Paul didn’t create a new religion.  He didn’t even try to do it.  Please take the time to read His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition and The Trilogy.

This is important.  Jewish people are descendants of Israel, but they aren’t the only ones.  Israel had 12 sons.  Judah was one of them.  All of Israel’s descendants will inherit the Promised Land.  At this point, many of the descendants of Israel’s other 11 sons don’t know that they are Israel’s descendants, but they are beginning to get it.  It’s happening all over the world.  Yahweh is making sure that we get it.

Many things that Christians have been taught are wrong.  Regrettably, they don’t know it, because they aren’t familiar enough with the Old Testament/Tanach or the New Testament.

The Messiah said, “For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” (Matthew 5: 18)

The Law is the 5 books of Moses: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.  Collectively, they are called the Torah.  The remainder of the Old Testament/Tanach is called the Prophets and Writings.  They are important, too, and they are just as valid: “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” (Luke 24: 27)

When you see the word “Scripture” in the New Testament, it is a reference to the Old Testament/Tanach.  It does not include the New Testament, because the New Testament didn’t exist when the Messiah and His disciples were with us.

If this sounds strange to you, please take the time to read His Name is Yahweh: Revised Edition and The Trilogy.

All isn’t accomplished yet.  The Law, the Prophets, and the Writings are as binding today as they were when the Messiah was with us in Person.  That is a fact that Christians need to understand.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
