Herb Keinon—UAE Leaders Tell Jewish Leaders of Concerns about Turkey, Iran Expansionism:
Leaders of the United Arab Emirates put almost equal emphasis during talks last week with an American Jewish delegation on the negative regional behavior of Turkey as they did on Iran, Malcolm Hoenlein said Sunday.
Hoenlein, the executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, made his comments at a press conference following the visit of 70 leaders of American Jewish organizations to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Hoenlein said the group met with the senior leadership of the UAE, though he did not mention specific names.
He said that in addition to Qatar, which is a major concern for the UAE, the leaders expressed concern about the hegemonic desire of Iran and Turkey to recapture the Ottoman and Persian empires.
While Hoenlein said the UAE made no particular requests of him or his organization, they were “anxious to see support for Saudi Arabia.”
Stephen Greenberg, the chairman of the Presidents’ Conference, said the UAE leadership was also keen on getting out the message that the UAE had “boots on the ground” around the region supporting the US efforts.
According to both men, the UAE leaders also talked about tolerance and described efforts by the education system to combat the attraction of radical Islamic extremism to the country’s youth by sending moderate messages to mosques.

Every Muslim country is a target of Islamist extremists. Leaders of those countries waited too long to begin addressing the problem. Their countries are going to suffer.
See “Afrin offensive: Turkey warns Syria against helping Kurds”. Under President Erdogan, Turkey has become an Islamist country. Erdogan is a Hitler wannabe. He’s a serious problem that the world must confront sooner or later. He seems to know no bounds. Trouble is heading his way. In the end, bullies always get what’s coming to them.
