Los Angeles Times—Donald Trump blames dissolution of European Union on refugees — ‘all of these illegals’:

President-elect Donald Trump blamed Europe’s acceptance of Mideast refugees — as he put it, “all of these illegals” — for the decision by Britain to leave the European Union, and predicted the organization would disintegrate barring a reversal of immigration policies promoted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“People, countries, want their own identity and the UK wanted its own identity,” Trump told representatives of the Times of London and the German publication Bild about the June Brexit vote. “But, I do believe this, if they hadn’t been forced to take in all of the refugees, so many, with all the problems that it … entails, I think that you wouldn’t have a Brexit.”

“I believe others will leave … I think it’s gonna be very hard to keep it together because people are angry about it.”

SnyderTalk Comment:

Finally, we have a U.S. president who is willing to tell the truth about what’s happening in Europe and the U.S.

Trump’s critics use statements like this one to convey the message to their followers that Donald Trump is anti-immigrant.  That’s not what he said, though.

European leaders have brought in so many immigrants so fast that their nations can’t assimilate them.  The very idea of assimilation is under attack in Europe because it runs afoul of the foolish belief that all cultures are equal.  That’s what Trump said.  He said that Brexit was a response to that absurd belief and that other European nations would abandon the EU.  He’s right on all counts.

The article didn’t mention the fact that the refugees Europe is allowing in now are mostly unvetted, military-age males, but that’s what is happening.  Trump has talked about that before as well.

The United States is doing the same thing.  It’s dangerous and it’s wrong.

It’s not anti-immigrant or anti-immigration to state a simple, irrefutable fact.  That’s what presidents should do.

The world is changing rapidly.  The consequences of the changes we are making haven’t been addressed properly by the powers that be in Europe and the United States.  If we continue on the present course without a critical review of the situation, the world as we know it will spiral out of control.  That’s happening now in Europe.  If we don’t take corrective measures, the same thing will happen in the U.S.

See “5 facts about illegal immigration in the U.S.” for some very interesting facts about immigration in the U.S.

Also see “European leaders shocked as Trump slams NATO and E.U., raising fears of transatlantic split”.  EU leaders are afraid (horrified might be a better word) that they will have to help pay for their own defense.  That’s what Trump said should happen.  He’s right. In the real world, it’s called acting responsibly.  Of course, in this Washington Post article, it’s presented as a ridiculous idea.

“If My people who are called by My Name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7: 14)

Change that Yahweh calls “good” begins in the hearts of believers—people who are recognizable because they are different.

We are different because we belong to Him and are called by His Name.  We are Yahweh’s people, His followers.

“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17: 22-24)
