Washington Post—Trump, Putin agree in phone call to improve ‘unsatisfactory’ relations between their countries, Kremlin says:
President-elect Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed in a telephone conversation Monday that relations between their countries were “unsatisfactory” and vowed to work together to improve them, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The statement said the two leaders discussed combining efforts in the fight against terrorism, talked about “a settlement for the crisis in Syria” and agreed their aides would begin working toward a face-to-face meeting between them.
Trump’s office has not commented on the call, and the Russian statement did not indicate who initiated it. Since his victory last week, Trump has received congratulatory calls from a number of foreign leaders. On the day after the U.S. election, Putin sent Trump a telegram covering many of the same themes, including his desire to improve U.S.-Russia relations and establish a dialogue based on “mutual respect and genuine consideration for each other’s positions.”

President-elect Trump reaching out to Russian President Vladimir Putin is good and it’s to be expected. In the days ahead, I think we will see the U.S. and Russia work more closely together in Syria and the Middle East.
There are pros and cons in the coming arrangement. On the pro side, much needs to be done in the Middle East and no one country should have to shoulder the entire load. On the con side, Israel is not the problem in the Middle East, but key players think she is. Thus, they push for concessions from Israel that her leaders should never accept.
That’s why I included Russia as one of my TRIC nations: Turkey, Russia, Iran, and China. I expect all of them to play an important part in the Middle East; I expect all of them to apply undue and irresponsible pressure on Israel to accept the unacceptable; and I expect all of them to pressure President Trump to go along with them.
While Donald Trump will be President of the United States in January, Yahweh is the Sovereign over all right now and forever more. It’s time for us to see some evidence that Yahweh is taken seriously by the occupant of the Oval Office. We haven’t seen it for the past 8 years. If we don’t see evidence in that regard, the U.S. will suffer. So will the rest of the world.
