Matthew Brown—Faith’s impact on global economies:
As businesses assess opportunities in the growing economies of China, Indonesia, India and even Africa, a new report makes a case for executives to seriously consider a factor that is often ignored: religion.
In a unique analysis of economic and demographic data, researchers Brian Grim and Philip Connor demonstrate the impact religious diversity will have on economic growth around the world by 2050. They conclude that existing religious populations in Asia and Africa will not only grow but become more diverse.
“The growth of religious populations has implications for how the world’s wealth will be spread about,” Grim said in a statement announcing the report that is to be presented this weekend at the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the Role of Faith in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Titled “Changing religion, changing economies: Future Global Religious and Economic Growth,” the study was done by Grim’s Religious Freedom & Business Foundation for the Global Agenda Council. Grim described it as part of a “toolkit” to increase the religious literacy of government and business leaders around the world.

SnyderTalk Comment: Along with economic prosperity comes a higher standard of living and the things that go with it, but with that comes the lust to have more and more stuff. Eventually, possessing things becomes the end game for far too many people.
The Messiah said this:
“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Paul said this:
“They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.” (Philippians 3: 19)
If we are honest with ourselves, we have to admit that the lust for things is almost irresistible. The Super Bowl commercials were a good example, and so was the halftime show. They showcased our desire for things that have nothing to do with our eternal well-being. We live in a world where Yahweh is given short shrift or no shrift at all.
Each one of us must fight this battle every day because we live in this world. There are consequences for bad choices.
Inordinate attention to material things is more dangerous than cancer or heart disease. I think there is a connection between the three.
Paul said, “For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (1 Timothy 6: 10) I suspect he was talking about that very problem
Don’t discount the importance of economics, politics, and religion as we move forward, and don’t be surprised if economic issues are the drivers of global events in the future.
The chart below is interesting. If it’s accurate, and I’m not saying that it is, it means that Islam will represent nearly as many people as Christianity by 2050.
What do you think will happen when Islam and Christianity are about equal in size?
Do you trust the Democrat Party to do the right thing?
Is the current upsurge in Islamist violence a coincidence or is it based on the belief that the return of their Golden Era is at hand?
I’m not endorsing anyone. I’m simply saying that we know where Democrats stand on Islamist terrorism because they have made it clear. They reserve their most potent venom for people who tell the truth about Islamists, and they have welcomed Islamists into their party with open arms.

1: CNN—Bill Clinton rips Sanders backers’ ‘sexist,’ ‘profane’ attacks:
Bill Clinton lashed out at “sexist” and “profane” attacks on Hillary Clinton and her supporters by proponents of Bernie Sanders, and accused them of harassing those who don’t back the Vermont senator’s campaign or disagree with his policies.
Speaking in New Hampshire on Sunday, Clinton delivered an extended rebuke of the Sanders supporters, whom he said subject people who back his wife to “vicious trolling.”
He described a progressive blogger who wrote a favorable column about the former secretary of state but was compelled to post it under a pseudonym out of fear of blowback from Sanders proponents.
“She and other people who have gone online to defend Hillary and explain — just explain — why they supported her have been subject to vicious trolling and attacks that are literally too profane often — not to mention sexist — to repeat,” Clinton said.

No surprise there.
Hillary thinks she’s progressive, but she’s not. She’s regressive. The difference in her mind is slight.
Madeleine Albright said that “there is a special place in hell for women who don’t support Hillary Clinton.” Hillary was standing beside her smiling and clapping when she said it.
It’s no surprise that Hillary is losing women’s support. Her history of defending a notorious philanderer is coming back to haunt her. She stands for everything that modern women detest.

2: Niraj Warikoo—FBI: Palestinian Muslim Plotted ISIS Attack on Detroit Church:
A 21-year-old Dearborn Heights man threatened terror attacks in support of ISIS with targets including police and a Detroit church with up to 6,000 members, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed Thursday.
Khalil Abu-Rayyan, 21, has not been charged with any terrorism crime. In an affidavit filed in a criminal complaint on a weapons and marijuana charge, he’s described as being an ISIS supporter who talked about committing violent acts of terrorism, including shootings and beheadings.
In his affidavit, FBI Special Agent Alan Southard said that Abu-Rayyan had been investigated by the FBI since May.
“Since May of 2015, the FBI has been conducting an investigation of Khalil Abu-Rayyan regarding increasingly violent threats he has made to others about committing acts of terror and martydom — including brutal acts against police officers, churchgoers and others — on behalf of the foreign terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraqi and Levant.”
3: Khaled Abu Toameh—Iran Infiltrates the West Bank:
Emboldened by its nuclear deal with the world powers, Iran is already seeking to enfold in its embracing wings the Arab and Islamic region.
Iran’s capacity for intrusions having been starved by years of sanctions. Now, with the lifting of sanctions, Tehran’s appetite for encroachment has been newly whetted — and its bull’s-eye is the West Bank.
Iran has, in fact, been meddling for many years in the internal affairs of the greater region. It has been party to the civil wars in Yemen and Syria, and, through the Shiite Muslims living there, continues actively to undermine the stability of many Gulf states, including Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
The lives of both the Lebanese and the Palestinians are also subject to the ambitions of Iran, which fills the coffers of groups such as Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad.
4: Avi Issacharoff—Abbas Signals Solidarity with Terrorism:
About two weeks ago, Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) met with a group of Israeli journalists, myself included, in the Muqata in Ramallah. The rais made firm statements against violence and terrorism and repeated his call for the resumption of peace talks.
On Wednesday, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met with parents of several Palestinian terrorists who had murdered Israelis and promised to rebuild the families’ homes, which Israeli security troops had demolished. Abbas’ words and deeds are interpreted in Palestinian and Israeli society as acts of solidarity and support for the terrorists’ actions. Both official and unofficial Palestinian media convey the message that the terrorists are “heroes” and Abbas is seen embracing the families of these “martyrs.”
It may be that Abbas sees such a promise as a humanitarian gesture, perhaps an act of mercy, toward the families. But he must know how his words and deeds would be interpreted in Palestinian and Israeli society: as an act of solidarity and support for terrorists’ actions in a week that those three young men, from families that are strong supporters of Fatah, went on a killing spree outside Jerusalem’s Old City, and a Palestinian Authority police officer tried to kill three young soldiers. Plainly, this is no way to build peace; nor is it any way to convey a message against violence and terrorism.
SnyderTalk Comment: Fact is Abbas is a two-faced liar. He can’t be trusted any more than Yasser Arafat could.
Some people object to the use of the word “liar”. I do, too, but it’s the truth. Not saying it would be dishonest.
5: Jerusalem Post—Turkey looking to warm ties with Egypt after trying with Israel:
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would allow ministerial-level talks between the two countries, but ruled out meeting with the Egyptian president, Turkish media reported on Sunday.
Turkey is looking to upgrade diplomatic ties with Egypt, after relations became strained when President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ousted president Mohamed Morsi of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2013.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he would allow ministerial-level talks between the two countries, but ruled out meeting with the Egyptian president, Turkish media reported on Sunday.
“My stance on that issue is clear; in the first place, I will not meet Sisi until the decisions of a death penalty for Morsi and his friends are reviewed and lifted. Our ministers may meet with their counterparts,” Erdogan told reporters, according to a report by the Hurriyet Daily News.
“But I wouldn’t find our prime minister’s meeting [with his Egyptian counterpart] appropriate,” Erdogan added.
