July 21, 2015 SnyderTalk: The Temple Mount, Prophecy, and the Iran Deal

1--Intro Covering Israel and ME

“And it will come about in the last days that the mountain of the house of Yahweh will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, and the peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, ‘Come and let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh and to the house of the God of Jacob, that He may teach us about His ways and that we may walk in His paths.’ For from Zion will go forth the law, even the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.” Micah 4: 1-2

The Temple Mount, Prophecy, and the Iran Deal

In an article titled “Iran deal a prophetic milestone”, Bill Wilson said,

The “president” is making a big deal about his recently signed deal with Iran that will assuredly allow the terrorist sponsoring state to develop a nuclear weapon. The White House is hailing the agreement as a breakthrough for peace, but those who watch closely the affairs and politics of the Middle East know better. It is beyond reason that any deal voluntarily agreed to by Iran would be good for world peace. Israel, who has the most to lose because Iran continuously calls for the annihilation of Israel, is livid. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in response: “The world is a much more dangerous place today than it was yesterday.” Notwithstanding, the US “president” was true to his word.

The Iran agreement is the very political result of “Blackmail Diplomacy” announced by then White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel at the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee meeting on May 5, 2009. Emanuel said, “Israel now faces a moment of truth–it can either acquiesce to international demands and in return have its most serious threats dealt with, or maintain the status quo and have those threats persist.” Emanuel was saying that the White House would ignore Iran’s nuclear threat, if Israel did not buckle to demands over a Palestinian state. This is exactly what happened. Israel refused to cut its nation in half with the proposed Palestinian state, and the “president” paved the way for Iranian nuclear weapons.

The Iran deal really is a prophetic milestone.  Fools won’t see it that way: “The fool has said in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” (Proverbs 14: 1)  In Wilson’s article, Rahm Emanuel was speaking for Barack Obama.  Both of them are fools.

Today, many people deny Yahweh’s existence, and far too many of those who say they believe in Him are unwilling to demonstrate faith in Him.  That’s regrettable, because without faith, it is impossible to please Yahweh.

We are entering a new era in world history.  Yahweh gave us a precursor through Haggai:

1 On the twenty-first of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh came by Haggai the prophet saying, 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people saying, 3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison? 4 But now take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares Yahweh, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares Yahweh Sabaoth. 5 ‘As for the promise which I made you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!’ 6 “For thus says Yahweh Sabaoth, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. 7 I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says Yahweh Sabaoth. 8 The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares Yahweh Sabaoth. 9 ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh Sabaoth, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares Yahweh Sabaoth.” (Haggai 2: 1-9)

Iran’s leaders have said that they are going to solve the “Palestinian problem” by wiping Israel off the map.

Barack Obama and other world leaders have opened the door for Iran to complete the development of nuclear weapons in a short while.

Iran has ballistic missiles that they can use to target Tel Aviv and beyond with nuclear warheads.  Israel has every right to be concerned, and a preemptive attack is not farfetched.

Before the Iran deal was signed, Obama started prepping the United Nations Security Council to endorse it.  That means Israel will be defying the will of the United Nations if her leaders decide that they must act to defend themselves, and they will be risking the possibility of being confronted militarily by the United Nations.

This is what Yahweh told Zechariah:

1 The burden of the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.  Thus declares Yahweh who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him, 2 “Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. 3 It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.” (Zechariah 12: 1-3)

Now, think again about what Yahweh told Haggai: “Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land…The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former.”

I think Yahweh’s Temple is about to be thrust to the forefront.  All the nations of the earth will gather against Jerusalem and Judah when it happens.  The significance of these events will escape the notice of unbelievers, and many so-called “believers” will brush it aside.  Even so, Yahweh is moving expeditiously to bring about His predetermined conclusion.  Again, I think He’s doing it right now.

Our job is simple.  We must do our part.

Our role is to follow the leading of Yahweh’s Spirit and have complete faith in Him.

Temple Institute Director Yehuda Glick has demonstrated the kind of courage that Yahweh wants.  In October 2014, an Islamist terrorist attempted to assassinate him.  He shot Glick 4 times and called him “an enemy of al-Aksa [Mosque]” because he is pressuring Israeli leaders to do what they should have done long ago.

Glick has recovered and is as active now as he has ever been.  I took this picture of him in the Old City of Jerusalem in June:

Rabbi Yehuda Glick in the Old City

Israel’s Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely has a role to play, as well.  She has ordered her staff to make sure that all foreign dignitaries who visit Israel are taken to the Western Wall/Kotel while they are in Jerusalem.  She needs to go one step further.  They need to be taken to the top of the Temple Mount and shown the spot where Yahweh’s Temple belongs.

0 ST Picture 2

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely

Hotovely may be a modern-day Deborah.  A succession of men has served as prime minister in Israel.  Every single one of them has failed to do what Yahweh expects them to do.  As a result, Israel has suffered.

Things are going to change.  Hotovely may be the person to finally do what should have been done already.  Time will tell.

Rabbi Benjamin Blech: The Iran Deal and the Hebrew Calendar— Deadlines came and went before the deal with Iran was finalized last week. The initial interim agreement set a July deadline in 2014. That was extended to November, then to April 2015, followed by a “final deadline” of June 30, ignored once again and pushed off to July 7. But even that didn’t happen. It wasn’t until Tuesday, July 14 that Iran and the world powers announced they had sealed a final nuclear deal with Tehran that will lift most economic sanctions on the country and permit it to continue many of the most controversial aspects of its nuclear program, as well as its missile development. And for those of us sensitive to divine messages implicit in seemingly meaningless “coincidences” of the calendar this almost bizarre aspect of the date on which the deal with Iran was at long last finalized represents perhaps one of the most powerful verdicts of this agreement’s place in history. Jewish tradition acknowledges that God makes his voice heard in many different ways. One of them is by way of the connection between events and the calendar, between the linkage of a day’s meaning to its historic significance.

Shlomo Cesana, Erez Linn, Eli Leon, Mati Tuchfeld, Israel Hayom Staff and Reuters: Netanyahu: Iran has 2 paths to a nuclear bomb — honoring the deal or violating it— A day after world powers and Iran reached a comprehensive nuclear agreement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched an international media campaign against the deal, highlighting its flaws. “Iran has here two paths to the bomb,” Netanyahu said in an interview with NBC News on Wednesday. “One is if they keep the deal, and the other is if they cheat on the deal. They can cheat on the deal because inspections are not instantaneous, anywhere, anytime, as Foreign Minister of Iran [Mohammad Javad] Zarif said correctly. In fact, you don’t have inspections within 24 hours; you have 24 days before you can inspect any site that you find suspicious in Iran. “Twenty-four days. Can you imagine giving a drug dealer 24 days’ notice before you check the premises? That’s a lot of time to flush a lot of meth down the toilet.”

Erez Linn, Reuters and Israel Hayom Staff: Obama adviser: We never sought ‘anytime, anywhere’ inspection of Iran sites— The deputy national security adviser for strategic communication in the Obama administration, Ben Rhodes, backtracked on earlier comments, saying Tuesday that the U.S. “never sought anytime, anywhere inspections” of suspect Iran sites. Rhodes’ comments to CNN’s Erin Burnett contradict an interview he gave to Israel’s Channel 10 in April, during which, in his answer to a question specifically about access to these sites, he said there would be “anytime, anywhere” inspections of Iranian facilities. Pressed about the issue by Burnett, Rhodes simply said, “This has the most robust inspections and verification regime that we’ve ever had in this type of agreement that we’ve negotiated.”

SnyderTalk Comment: That’s a stunning admission and an indication of the Obama administration’s incompetence.

Only an idiot would not seek inspections because they are the only way to verify compliance, but it takes a special kind of imbecile to admit it publicly.

Now see “Deal means ‘permanent prohibition’ on Iranian nukes, insists Obama” and “No Americans in IAEA’s Iran inspection teams, says Susan Rice”.

Obama is delusional or worse.  I suspect that he’s worse than delusional, and his underlings make him look good by comparison.

Raphael Ahren: Israel: Inspection Clauses in Deal “Worse than Worthless”—The nuclear deal’s inspections regime is “worse than worthless” and actually helps Iran more than the international inspectors, Minister Yuval Steinitz said Wednesday. “Unfortunately, when you examine the details, you discover that the inspection [mechanism for undeclared military sites] is actually just a mirage.” By instituting a mechanism that gives Iran close to a month of advance notice to conceal any illicit nuclear activity before it needs to grant access to inspectors, the agreement renders useless any intelligence suggesting that Tehran is violating the deal.

Leslie H. Gelb: The Real Reason Obama Did the Iran Deal—According to top administration officials, Mr. Obama has always been after something much bigger than capping Iran’s nuclear program, and he got it – the strategic opportunity to begin converting Iran from foe to “friend.” Iranian negotiators understood well what’s been driving the U.S. president, and they have used the prospect of becoming “a friend” as their best bargaining card. For over a year now in small private conversations and strolls, they have been painting rosy pictures of Iranian-American cooperation. The Iranian list of possibilities goes to most of Washington’s principal worries in the Middle East. They would step up their fighting alongside Iraqi troops to combat the Islamic State in Iraq. And they would do much more in Syria to go after the forces of ISIS there. They spoke of finding “solutions” to the civil war in Yemen. They raised hopes of forging better relations with America’s “partners” in the Gulf. However, they said little or nothing about Lebanon, so as not to jeopardize the strong position there of their Hizbullah allies, or about their backing of Hamas in Gaza. And U.S. diplomats couldn’t get anything positive from them about Israel, the country that feels greatly threatened by Iran.

TIME: Iran’s Supreme Leader Says Nuclear Deal Won’t Change Policy Toward ‘Arrogant’ U.S.— Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Saturday a landmark nuclear deal won’t change his country’s policy toward the “arrogant” U.S., making his first public speech since the Islamic Republic’s historic pact with world powers. Khamenei said a more wide-ranging agreement with America is unlikely, striking a different pose than moderate President Hassan Rouhani, who earlier said the Vienna accord could “step-by-step remove bricks from the wall of mistrust” between Iran and the U.S. However, the ayatollah’s remarks also praised the Iranian negotiators who struck the deal. That likely means he won’t offer a major criticism of the deal as Iran’s parliament and its Supreme National Security Council, the nation’s highest security decision-making body, consider the agreement in the coming days. “Our policy toward the arrogant U.S. government won’t change at all,” Khamenei said in an address carried live by state television. “We have no negotiations with America about various global and regional issues. We have no negotiations on bilateral issues.”

Dov S. Zakheim: The Iran Nuclear Agreement: Tehran “Achieved All It Wanted”—As the Iranian Mehr News Agency has pointed out, Iran has achieved all that it wanted in the nuclear deal. All economic and financial sanctions against Iran will be removed. None of its nuclear sites will be shut down. Iran will continue nuclear enrichment. No centrifuge will be destroyed and research and development on advanced centrifuges will continue. Billions of Iran’s blocked revenues in foreign banks will be unfrozen. In reality, America, with its allies in tow, has made concession after concession to an economically starved state whose delusions of grandeur will now be greater than ever. Iran will have little trouble cheating IAEA inspectors while it proceeds along its path of nuclear-weapons development. It did not have to be this way.

RTÉ News: Saudi breaks up IS network, arrests 431 members—Saudi authorities announced today that they have broken up an organisation linked to the Islamic State group and have so far arrested 431 of its members, mostly Saudis. Authorities have “managed over the past few weeks to destroy an organisation made of a cluster of cells, which is linked to the terrorist Daesh organisation,” the interior ministry said, using the Arabic acronym for the so-called Islamic State. Network members were engaged in a “plot managed from areas of unrest abroad, with the aim of sowing sectarian sedition and spreading chaos,” the ministry said. The cells were involved in several attacks and plots, including the deadly suicide bombings that hit Shiite mosques in the kingdom’s Eastern Province, it said. The so-called Islamic State, which considers Shiites heretics, has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Ruthie Blum: Right from Wrong: A deal with the devil—On Tuesday, following the announcement that the P5+1 countries (the US, the UK, France, China, Russia and Germany) had finally reached an agreement with Iran on its nuclear program, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani addressed his people. Unable to contain his joy at having brought the “Great Satan” America to its knees – during Ramadan, no less – he began by paying tribute to Islam and the legacy of the late Ayatollah Khomeini, the father of the Iranian Revolution in 1979. “Peace and blessings upon the pure souls of the prophets and the holy men, the great Prophet of Islam [Muhammad], the imams, the imam of the martyrs [Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini], and the exalted martyrs, especially the nuclear [scientists], and peace and blessings upon the Hidden Imam,” he said.

Mehrdad Farahmand: Is this Iran’s time in the Middle East?— “A wild beast unleashed”. This damning verdict from Saudi columnist Abdul Rahman Rashed, writing in the influential Ahsarq Al Awsat newspaper, largely sums up the tone of reaction to Iran’s nuclear deal across the Arab media. And judging from the conversations I’ve had with ordinary Egyptians here in Cairo – and the conversations on Arabic social media – these fears are very much shared by ordinary people. For many Sunni Arab governments and their people, the worry is that with international sanctions lifted Shia Iran will be able to expand operations in its client states across the Middle East. That means more military support for Bashar Assad in Syria, for Shia militias in Iraq, for the Houthi rebels in Yemen and for Hezbollah in Lebanon. Much has been made in the Arab press in recent days of a comment by the former UN Syria envoy Lakhdar Brahimi after a trip to Tehran in 2013. “We are not an important country in the region,” he was told by his Iranian hosts. “We are THE important country in the region.”

Alan M. Dershowitz Does this Deal Prevent Iran from Developing a Nuclear Weapon?— Does the proposed deal with Iran actually prevent the Mullah’s from ever developing a nuclear weapon? Or does it merely delay them for a period of years? That is the key question that has not yet been clearly answered. In his statement on the deal, President Obama seemed to suggest that Iran will never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. He said that this “long-term deal with Iran… will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” He then repeated this assurance: “because of this deal, the international community will be able to verify that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not be able to develop a nuclear weapon.” These seemingly categorical statements were intended to assure the world that President Obama would keep his earlier promise that Iran will never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.

Ben Cohen: The World’s Surrender on Iran Will Doom Syria First— Last week—and please forgive me for the graphic nature of this metaphor—Russian President Vladimir Putin pulled down his pants and urinated over the graves of the 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys exterminated by Serb forces in the enclave of Srebrenica in July 1995. Twenty years after Bosnia was torn apart by the genocide committed by both Serb and Croatian forces, the Russians—who were the main backers of the regime of the late tyrant of Belgrade, Slobodan Milosevic—are still playing the insidious role of denying the most monstrous crime to take place in Europe since the Second World War. In vetoing a joint American-British resolution to commemorate the slaughter at Srebrenica with the legal status of a genocide, Russian U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin grunted that what was tabled at the U.N. Security Council was “not constructive, confrontational and politically motivated.” Predictably, his words drew a furious response: “After 20 years, Russia showed that it backed the crime instead of justice,” declared Munira Subasic, the head of the Mothers of Srebrenica Association. But as deplorable as the Russian stance is, it isn’t at all surprising. Towards the end of the 1990s, when it came to dealing with genocide and crimes against humanity, the momentum was clearly on the side of the western democracies. Among the milestones were the creation of the International Criminal Court—whose true purpose was to try monsters like Milosevic and the late Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein—and the development of the “Responsibility to Protect” doctrine. In essence, that doctrine, known by the shorthand of R2P, was aimed at overriding state sovereignty in order to prevent authoritarian and totalitarian regimes from exterminating their own civilians at will.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Exodus 15

15 “Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed; the leaders of Moab, trembling grips them; all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away. 16 Terror and dread fall upon them; by the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone; until Your people pass over, O Yahweh, until the people pass over whom You have purchased. 17 You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance, the place, O Yahweh, which You have made for Your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established. 18 Yahweh shall reign forever and ever. 19 For the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, and Yahweh brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea. 20 Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dancing. 21 Miriam answered them, “Sing to Yahweh, for He is highly exalted; the horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
