Robert Spencer—Russia considering UN action on protecting Middle East Christians:

Why hasn’t the United States initiated such action?

“Russia Looking Into Initiating UN Action on Protecting Christians in the Middle East,” by Dr Alexander Yakovenko, AINA, November 26, 2014 (thanks to AINA):

Russia is currently considering the possibility of initiating a draft decision of the UN Human Rights Council on the protection of Christians in the Middle East and North Africa. Russian experts are now working on this document.

In addition, at the OSCE Ministerial Council in Basel on December 4-5, the Russian side will be calling for a thorough analysis of the processes leading to “Christianophobia” in the Middle East and the broader region. The scale of the problems demands the coordination of international efforts to protect Christians in the Middle East. Further initiatives, new measures and relevant discussions aimed at finding durable solutions in this regard are strongly needed. Of course, we believe that Europe, including the UK, should make its contribution to these efforts, taking into account the Christian roots of the European civilization, which are now often forgotten for the sake of political correctness.

SnyderTalk Comment: The irony is breathtaking.  Russia is taking action to protect Christians while the U.S. is talking about the persecution of Christians occasionally, but there is no sense of urgency.  The sense of outrage is barely detectable.  It’s mostly just talk.

Some people think that Barack Obama is a closet Muslim, that he’s trying to destroy Israel, and that he’s opposed to Christianity.  I don’t know the truth about Obama, but I do know this: his actions as president are hurting Israel, Jews, and Christians.  What he believes is almost irrelevant.

Many people from CAIR are close to President Obama and are influential in his administration.  Some of them helped to develop his Middle East strategy.  Under these circumstances, it’s not surprising that the U.S. has become anti-Christian, anti-Israel, and pro-Islam.  This may sound crass, but I think the public beheadings of American citizens are the only reasons why Obama is taking any action at all against ISIS.  He would rather talk.  It’s the only thing that he does well.

Given the atheistic underpinning of the old Soviet Union, it’s somewhat surprising that Russia is taking the lead to protect Christians.  They may be doing it for PR purposes, but at least they are doing something besides talking.

People who think they know details about the End of Days had better not fixate on their opinions.  We know some things because Yahweh told us, but we know only a small fraction of what will actually happen as the end approaches.  Many of the things that we think will take place won’t and many things that we have never considered will happen.

Yahweh is the only Person we can trust.

Mitchell Bard: Islamists: “Destruction is a Matter of Time”— “If the Jews left Palestine to us, would we start loving them? Of course not. The Jews are infidels not because I say so but because Allah does… They aren’t our enemies because they occupy Palestine; they would be our enemies even if they had not occupied anything.” — Muhammad Hussein Ya’qub, Egyptian cleric. Muslim extremists trust that time is in their side, in part because they are on the threshold of acquiring nuclear weapons. Once Iran and other Muslim countries have this capability, they will have the military means to blackmail their oil-rich neighbors, destroy Israel and threaten Europe.

Burak Bekdil: The Turkish Governor’s “Huge Hatred”— “It is shameful for a public official to make such remarks. Hate-speech and anti-Semitism have seized the state. The hate-speech often exhibited by the ruling politicians encourages public officials to follow suit.” — Aykan Erdemir, lawmaker, Republican People’s Party. “This governor has a lot to learn from Sultan Abdulhamid… They [Jews] are our people. This is Turkey’s synagogue, not Israel’s.” — Young Civilians group. The governor has probably scored good points to get a future promotion for the “huge hatred inside” him. Once again, hate-speech in Turkey will not be prosecuted because it targets people who are not Sunni Muslim Turks.

Mohshin Habib: Killing Christians: A State-Sponsored Crime in Pakistan— The mob beat them and broke their legs so they would not be able to flee. “They picked them up by their arms and legs and held them over the brick furnace until their clothes caught fire. And then they threw them inside the furnace.” — Javed Maseeh, family spokesman, to NBC News. The attack was not an isolated one. Rather it seems to be part of systematic killings, community by community.

Soeren Kern: Spain: Fate of Ex-Muslim Critic of Islam Hangs in Balance— The Supreme Court’s ruling is eerily similar to an international blasphemy law being promoted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a bloc of 57 Muslim countries dedicated to implementing a worldwide ban on “negative stereotyping of Islam.” Firasat’s lawyers say that they have presented the court with irrefutable evidence that the charges against Firasat were fabricated by Indonesian authorities, but that this evidence has been ignored by a judiciary that is under political pressure from the Spanish government to get rid of Firasat once and for all. “Even if Indonesians do not punish me for death, how will I be protected from Muslims who consider me a blasphemer and an apostate? Will I be able to get a fair trial when the judges, prosecution, fake witnesses and lawyers, everybody will be a Muslim?” — Imran Firasat. Firasat said it was never his intention to provoke the Spanish government, but that he felt it was his duty to “warn of the dangers of not understanding or stopping what is known as Jihad.”

Guy Millière: Obama’s Legacy (and Europe’s)— It is difficult to think that President Obama — or leaders in Europe — want their names to go down in history as the fools who actually legitimized a rogue entity such as “Palestine” or enabled Iran to acquire nuclear weapons. But just as Neville Chamberlain is looked on as the biggest laughing stock in history for promising “peace” with Hitler, so can Obama’s legacy be that of an even bigger fool. Chamberlain, after all, did not have a Chamberlain to warn him.

Rebecca Shimoni Stoil: Dennis Ross: Iran Showed No Flexibility in Nuke Talks—Iran was unwilling to show flexibility during recent nuclear negotiations, veteran U.S. diplomat Dennis Ross said Tuesday in a conference call with the Jewish Federations of North America. Ross said the U.S. had demonstrated flexibility during the talks, including a willingness to back down on demands over the Arak heavy water facility and the Fordo enrichment facility. “The fact that the Iranians did not take advantage of U.S. flexibility raises questions in my mind as to whether they are really capable of doing a deal,” Ross said, arguing that Iranian negotiators’ hands may be tied by the anti-American ideology of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. “If there is going to be a deal, the Iranians must have a perception that they don’t have today – that they want a deal more than we do,” adding that the negotiators need to “make clear to the Iranians that there is a high price to pay” if a deal is not struck.

Jeffrey Goldberg: The Many Iranian Obstacles in the Way of a Strong Nuclear Deal—An Iran with nuclear weapons would pose an acute challenge to pro-American moderates across the Middle East and to the cause of nuclear non-proliferation. And it would pose a genocidal threat to Israel. The goal of a deal is to make it as hard as possible for Iran to reach the nuclear threshold. Rep. Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, explained three potential weaknesses in an Iranian nuclear deal. First, any agreement that contains an expiration date is an inadequate agreement because it will, in essence, grant Iran time-delayed permission to build nuclear weapons. A second concern is that the U.S. will agree to lift the most biting sanctions now in place before guaranteeing real progress in the deconstruction of Iran’s nuclear program. The third issue concerns our ability to access any enrichment, research, or military sites. Deutch’s position is fairly representative of a broad swath of Democratic thinking.

Patrick Clawson and Mehdi Khalaji: What Difference Would an Iran Deal Make?—Reaching a nuclear deal with Iran is proving to be tough, as evidenced by the seven-month extension of talks agreed to on Monday. But negotiating an agreement will only be the first part of resolving the nuclear impasse. At least as important will be persuading Iran to abide by the deal over time, and the regime’s track record suggests that will not be easy. In 2003-2004, Tehran reached two nuclear agreements with the EU3 (Britain, France, and Germany) and then walked away from them. And in 2009, the regime reached a deal with the P5+1 (Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United States), but Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vetoed it before it could go into effect. Today, a variety of economic and political factors stand to threaten the durability of any new accord.

Jennifer Rubin: The Pro-Sanctions, Anti-Iran Contingent Grows in the Senate—43 Senate Republicans signed onto a letter to the president drafted by Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) expressing alarm about “recent developments in your administration’s policy toward Iran.” “Your negotiators appear to have disregarded clear expressions from the Senate emphasizing the need for a multi-decade agreement requiring Iran to fully suspend its enrichment and reprocessing activities, to dismantle its illicit nuclear infrastructure, and completely disclose its past work on nuclear weaponization. We see no indication your negotiators are pressing Iran to abandon efforts to develop an intercontinental ballistic missile that could reach American soil.” “We will continue to seek to impose additional pressure on Iran in the months ahead unless Tehran abandons its nuclear ambitions and pursues a genuinely constructive path in its relations with the world.” With a new Senate, the pro-sanctions, tough-on-Iran group will grow. Seven of the 12 new senators voted for the House version of the Iran sanctions measure. The remaining five Republicans all ran against Obama’s Iran policy.

Eugene Kontorovich: A Palestinian ICC Gambit Would Reach Far Beyond Parties to the Conflict—If PA leader Mahmoud Abbas accepts the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC), that decision would have far-flung diplomatic and legal implications. One major consequence is that any subsequent investigation would certainly focus on alleged Palestinian crimes at least as surely as Israeli ones. Moreover, a potential ICC investigation could scrutinize the conduct of senior Hamas operatives based in Turkey and Qatar. The decision of the Special Court for Sierra Leone in the case of Charles Taylor, and other decisions by international criminal tribunals, shows that leaders residing outside the territory in which crimes are being committed can be convicted on the basis of their overall support and leadership of the organization carrying out the crimes. Indeed, all those – regardless of nationality or domicile – who plan, finance or support Palestinian terrorism could be investigated to the extent they plan crimes within what the Court would regard as Palestinian territory.

Hamas says unity government is over

SnyderTalk Comment: There never was a “unity government”.  From the beginning, it was all for show.

Hamas and Fatah pretended to join hands politically to appease their benefactors in the U.S. and Europe primarily.  They wanted to protect the flow of funds and nothing more.

I call it the Palestinian Two-Step.  It’s a dance they do on cue when people like Barack Obama and John Kerry pressure them to come together so they can make “peace” with Israel.  We’ve seen this dance many times before.  At the end of it, things always come unglued and war with Israel takes center stage.

Only Yahweh can change hearts and minds.  Before He will do it, people must ask Him.  Palestinian leaders, both Hamas and Fatah, aren’t seeking Yahweh.  Quite the contrary, they are doing everything in their power to prevent Him from fulfilling His promises to and about Israel and the Jewish people.  By participating in the dance, people like Barack Obama and John Kerry are doing the same thing.

Most people in the world today are totally ignorant about what’s taking place in the Middle East and Israel.  They can be told just about anything, and they’ll believe it.  Even worse, they think that their opinions matter.  Well, they don’t.  The only person whose opinion matters is Yahweh.

Erdogan: West doesn’t like Muslims, wants them dead

SnyderTalk Comment: Anyone who believes that preparing for attacks from Islamists who have vowed to kill us is the same as wanting Muslims dead is delusional or pandering.

I have a strong hunch that Erdogan is delusional and that he’s pandering to Islamists in Turkey and the Middle East.  He may be pandering to Islamists worldwide, too.  He may even think that he’s the madhi, but that’s just a guess.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 38: 24-26

24 Now it was about three months later that Judah was informed, “Your daughter-in-law Tamar has played the harlot, and behold, she is also with child by harlotry.” Then Judah said, “Bring her out and let her be burned!” 25 It was while she was being brought out that she sent to her father-in-law, saying, “I am with child by the man to whom these things belong.” And she said, “Please examine and see, whose signet ring and cords and staff are these?” 26 Judah recognized them, and said, “She is more righteous than I, inasmuch as I did not give her to my son Shelah.” And he did not have relations with her again.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
