Khaled Abu Toameh—Kerry Trying To Save Hamas, Restore Muslim Brotherhood:

The U.S. Administration’s main objective in cease-fire talks is clearly to empower Muslim Brotherhood and its Palestinian branch, Hamas.

This is how the Palestinian Authority [PA] sees the recent efforts of U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to achieve a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

It is no secret that the PA, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates would like to see an end to Hamas’s rule over the Gaza Strip. Moreover, they seem to support the idea of disarming Hamas as part of any agreement to end the current crisis.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas, who has been issuing strong condemnations of the Israeli “aggression” on the Gaza Strip over the past few weeks, is hoping that the war will result in the return of his loyalists to control the Gaza Strip or, at least to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.

SnyderTalk Comment: Obama’s misguided policies are virtually impossible to comprehend.  He says that he has Israel’s back, but almost everything he does places Israel’s back against the wall.  I am not going to engage in speculation about Obama’s and Kerry’s motives.  I prefer to focus instead on the results of their misadventures.  If they don’t intend to sabotage Israel, they are bumbling idiots.  If Obama does intend to sabotage Israel, then he is an evil man, and Kerry is no better.

This is the point:  it doesn’t matter what Obama’s motives are.  For Israel, the outcome is the same.  He says that he’s Israel’s friend, but with friends like Obama, Israel doesn’t need enemies.

Israel’s back is against the wall, and the U.S. helped to put our single reliable ally in the Middle East in that dangerous position.  I’m not blaming Obama alone.  It started with the Oslo Peace Accords.  That was President George H.W. Bush’s doing.  Bill Clinton and George W. Bush share responsibility because they advanced the Oslo Accords and the two-state solution while it was clearly failing and costing Israeli lives, but Obama has done more harm to Israel than any of them.

Hamas has been lying about everything since it took control of Gaza in 2005.  That fact has been obvious since the get-to.  Anyone with a smidgen of common sense and a little knowledge knows it.  Regrettably, the mainstream media is loaded with lazy, opinionated, self-serving, anti-Semitic boneheads, and the general public in virtually every country bases their beliefs on nothing but feelings.

Hamas gets away with murder literally; Israel is raked over the coals for defending itself; and masses of people parade in the streets all across Europe to support Hamas.  I have a hunch that Yahweh won’t let this kind of stupidity go on much longer.

Elder of Ziyon: Hamas Accepted the ‘Truce’ Specifically to Kidnap a Soldier— This morning, Israel accepted a U.S.-brokered 72-hour cease-fire starting at 8:00 a.m.. At 9:30, Hamas started a seemingly pre-planned operation in Rafah, killing 2 Israeli soldiers and kidnapping one during a suicide bombing. Terrorists emerged from a tunnel shaft, and a suicide bomber detonated himself in the vicinity of soldiers. Heavy exchanges of fire ensued, before one of the IDF soldier was kidnapped, a senior army source said. Clearly the cease-fire provided the opportunity Hamas wanted to perform this operation. Their acceptance of the cease-fire – including the terms that IDF soldiers can keep their positions, which Hamas knew were near a hidden tunnel entrance – can only be described as a well-planned ruse for this attack, Hamas’ most sought-after prize. These were not conditions that Hamas would normally accept.

Ben Cohen: The Vanishing Two-State Solution— Speaking to a British television network this week, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron bemoaned that “facts on the ground” were on the verge of wrecking the prospects for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Cameron, it should be said, has consistently supported Israel’s right to defend itself from the stream of rocket attacks launched from Hamas-ruled Gaza. At the same time, he believes that there is no substitute for a robust, lasting political solution. That is why his anxiety about the two-state solution is likely shared by other world leaders. What’s so frustrating, the international community reasons, is that everyone knows what a final settlement will look like, yet no one is willing to take the steps necessary to get us there.

Steve Apfel: The Human Rights Commission: Another bash at Goldstone 1— With Israel’s Gaza War III raging at full bore, the UN Human Rights Council created a “commission of inquiry” to investigate Israel’s human rights violations in the strip. Note well. The resolution does not mandate the inquiry to investigate fairly and impartially. This was no drafting error. The Council may be biogoted, but it is not stupid. UN lounge-abouts are capable of learning from their mistakes. Pretending that the Council’s investigative Model 1 was above board left the Human Rights Council with egg all over its humane mask. It learnt a good lesson. And it has no intention of going there again.  As we’re about to see…The laws of war! The devil is in their detail, detail looks at intentions; intentions reside in the mind, and the mind can change. How the mind of a Jewish man of law can change! Richard Goldstone changed his – publicly, in the Washington Post. The one-time constitutional court judge of SA, prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for Yugoslavia, and Chairman of the UN Human Rights Council fact-finding report on the Gaza conflict (2008-2009), changed his mind. From what did he change it, and to what?

Bob Fredericks: Israel Is Fighting on Behalf of the Free World—”Israel in the Middle East is fighting on behalf of the free world,” declared Mosab Hassan Yousef, the outspoken son of Hamas leader Hassan Yousef. “Hamas does not care about the lives of Palestinians, or the lives of Israelis, or Americans; they don’t care about their own lives,” Yousef told CNN. “They consider dying for their ideology a way of worship.” “Their goal is to conquer the globe and build an Islamic state on every inch of the globe….[Hamas] is willing to sacrifice as many Palestinian lives as it takes.” “Hamas is not seeking co-existence and compromise. Hamas is seeking conquest and taking over. And by the way, the destruction of the State of Israel is not Hamas’ final destination. Hamas’s final destination is building the Islamic caliphate, which means an Islamic state over the rubble of every other civilization.”

David Bernstein: Questions for the International Media in Gaza—How do you feel about the Spanish journalist who said Hamas would kill any journalist if they filmed rocket fire? When Hamas Health Ministry statistics contradict Hamas’ own propaganda and reveal that mostly men of fighting age have died so far in Gaza, does it give you pause? Were you aware that Hamas chose to execute dozens of anti-war protesters in Gaza?

Ali Alfoneh: Khamenei Mends Relations with Hamas—Arm Hamas. That was the main message of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s speech on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the feast marking the end of the month of Ramadan. The support for Hamas marked a shift in rhetoric for the Iranian leader. Ties suffered because of Iran’s support for Bashar al-Assad. The Hamas external leadership left Damascus in 2012. “A rabid dog, and a predatory wolf has attacked innocent people,” Khamenei said, referring to Israel and its current war against Hamas in Gaza. He accused “the usurping and infidel Zionist regime” of committing “genocide,” and demanded “punishment” for the “perpetrators of these crimes and their backers.” Finally, Khamenei said: “The entire world, and in particular the world of Islam, is obliged to do everything in its ability to arm the people of Palestine.” The renewed partnership should serve as a warning to those who believe a negotiated solution to the nuclear crisis would lead to changes in the regime’s policy of supporting violent non-state actors.

Sultan Sooud Al-Qassem: Why Qatar’s Intervention Won’t Help End the Gaza Crisis—Qatar’s overall strategy with the Muslim Brotherhood has failed miserably: It resulted in the alienation of the Brotherhood in Egypt. Qatari support for Muslim Brotherhood affiliates elsewhere in the region, such as Libya, Jordan, and Tunisia, has also backfired. Qatar’s continuous financial and media support for the Muslim Brotherhood through the once-popular Al Jazeera have further poisoned relations between Qatar and Egypt.

Ruthie Blum: Pillay’s Dastardly ‘Doublethink’— On Thursday, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay accused Israel of “deliberate defiance” of its obligations under international law. Referring not only to the current operation in Gaza, but to past confrontations, Pillay said that Israel has repeatedly ignored calls to respect the laws of war. “The same pattern of attacks is occurring now on homes, schools, hospitals, U.N. premises,” she said, alluding to previous instances of what she considers to be Israeli aggression. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Pillay added, “None of this appears to me to be accidental.” In other words, what the world’s human rights chief — and ostensible champion — was implying was that Israel has been targeting innocent civilians in Gaza, particularly the weak and infirm.

Dore Gold: Israel’s Doctrine of Proportionality in Gaza— The images of destruction after the battle between the Israel Defense Forces and Hamas that began July 20 in the Shajaiya neighborhood in the Gaza Strip have caused many to declare, in a now-frequent refrain, that the IDF is behaving “disproportionately.” Some commentators are simply dressing up in sophisticated language their belief that Israel is using excessive force, but others clearly mean to accuse Israel of violating the laws of war — specifically, of violating the doctrine of proportionality. These accusations have no merit. Shajaiya was not just another neighborhood in Gaza, but rather a crown jewel of Hamas’ effort to intertwine civilians and terrorists to complicate Israel’s ability to defend itself. Shajaiya was crisscrossed with an elaborate network of underground bunkers and tunnels containing equipment for the manufacture of rockets, storage facilities for rockets and other weapons, and launching sites from which the rockets were fired at Israeli towns. It was a civilian area where Hamas embedded its most important military capabilities, precisely to encourage condemnation of Israel should the IDF be forced to fight there.

Justen Charters: Barack Obama’s Net Worth Has Risen 438% Since Running for President— According to financial disclosure reports, President Obama has an estimated net worth of  $7 million dollars. Since he was worth $1.3 million in 2007, that makes the millionaire 438% more wealthy than when he first ran for office. As reported by the International Business Times: “President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama listed assets worth between $2 million and $7 million for 2013, of which $1 million to $5 million were in Treasury notes, according to financial disclosure forms released Thursday.” Let me be clear, there is nothing wrong with being a millionaire.  The United States is home to the most millionaires because of the kind of opportunity it offers to hard-working entrepreneurs.

SnyderTalk Comment: Maybe Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and Hillary Clinton should join forces and co-author a book.  Here’s a possible title: How to Get Rich in Politics.  I believe that many people who enter politics do it so that they can get rich, and they sell a populist line to harvest support and dollars for themselves.  Do you think I’m saying that the Clintons and Obama are charlatans?  You bet I am.

4--Scripture of the Day Yahweh

Genesis 23: 10-16

10 Now Ephron was sitting among the sons of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the sons of Heth; even of all who went in at the gate of his city, saying, 11 “No, my lord, hear me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the sons of my people I give it to you; bury your dead.” 12 And Abraham bowed before the people of the land. 13 He spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, “If you will only please listen to me; I will give the price of the field, accept it from me that I may bury my dead there.” 14 Then Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him, 15 “My lord, listen to me; a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that between me and you? So bury your dead.” 16 Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, commercial standard.

SnyderTalk Comment: Abraham bought Hebron.  It belongs to him and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob/Israel.  Today, it’s a greenhouse for terrorists who are trying to destroy Israel.  Read His Name is Yahweh.

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
