“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: may they prosper who love you.”

Rabbi Yosef Bitton—Echoes of the Big Bang:
The recent discovery of primordial gravitational waves supports the Torah’s account of creation, and may shed light on the age of the universe enigma.
“Space Ripples Reveal Big Bang’s Smoking Gun,” Dennis Overbye recently informed us in the New York Times. A few years ago, scientists predicted that the Big-Bang must have passed a series of phases throughout its development into its present size. The most dramatic phase, the cosmological theory asserts, was the “inflation” period which immediately after the Big Bang, caused the universe “to swell faster than the speed of light for a prodigiously violent instant.”
In the inflation phase, this theory asserts, our Universe grew, in less than a cosmic eye-blink, a trillion trillion times, from the size of a grapefruit to at least what we are able to observe today. This inflationary phase, scientists predicted, must have generated gravitational waves, which should be detectable in the universe, similar to the cosmic background radiation detected by Penzias and Wilson in 1978. Last week, scientists were able to identify those gravitational waves, giving confirmation to the Big Bang.

Jonathan S. Tobin: A Murderer’s Life and the Chances of Peace— The New York Times did a valuable public service today by profiling the life of Muqdad Salah. But the story, which demonstrated how unlikely peace between Israelis and the Palestinians is, wasn’t intended as an indictment of Palestinian society. Salah, 47, is, as the Times reported, doing his best to make up for lost time. You see, he lost 20 years of his life to a prison sentence in an Israeli jail from which he was liberated last year. To help ease his transition back to society, the resident of Burqa in the West Bank got a generous settlement from the Palestinian Authority, an honorary rank of brigadier general in the PA military, and praise from his neighbors and fellow Palestinians. In the seven months since he got out, he has married a much younger woman, remodeled a family home, and bought a business. He’s now the picture of a successful Palestinian, but he’s got a couple of problems. One is that the no-show salary of $1,800 a month he’s collecting from the PA (which gave him $100,000 at his release) isn’t enough to live the life of ease he craves. The other is that his travel is restricted. And oh, yes: some Israelis are really mad about the fact that a terrorist with blood on his hands like Salah is walking around free and enjoying life.
Mark Mardell: Ukraine crisis: Stalin’s joke sums up Obama’s dilemma—During his visit to the Vatican today, US President Barack Obama won’t be tempted to ask Stalin’s sneering question: “How many divisions has the Pope?” But the Soviet dictator’s joke lies at the heart of Mr Obama’s Eastern dilemma. Stalin’s point was of course that the greatest moral authority in the world is still impotent in the face of the sort of power that comes from the barrel of a gun.
Thomas Lifson: Iran pokes a finger in Obama’s eye— Behaving like the “strong horse” Osama bin Laden used to talk about, Iran: “…has named a member of the militant group that held 52 Americans hostage in Tehran for 444 days to be its next ambassador to the United Nations. The Iranian government has applied for a U.S. visa for Hamid Aboutalebi, Iran’s former ambassador to Belgium and Italy, who was a member of the Muslim Students Following the Imam’s Line, a group of radical students that seized the U.S. embassy on Nov. 4, 1979. Imam was an honorific used for Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the Islamic Revolution.”
Daniel Greenfield: Dancing with the Devil— Many books have been written about the cost of war. Far fewer have been written about the cost of diplomacy. Diplomacy, diplomats assume, is always a good thing. There can be no harm in talking to an enemy. Talking, talking and then talking some more. It’s the myth that Obama has built his entire foreign policy around, broadcasting his eagerness for unconditional dialogue with totalitarian states, and it is a myth that Michael Rubin challenges with a combination of hard facts, historical accounts and bigger ideas in Dancing with the Devil: The Perils of Engaging Rogue Regimes.
Michael Curtis: Are the Boycotters of Israel Violating International Law?— The world is now aware of the bias and bigotry of Oxfam International in objecting to Scarlett Johansson’s decision to become a spokesperson for the Israeli company SodaStream because of the company’s factory in an Israeli settlement town. Oxfam considers Israeli settlements illegal and thus in violation of international law. In addition to its support of a boycott of trade with Israeli settlements, Oxfam has not adhered to a policy of neutrality in the Middle East. It has issued statements calling on Israel to end its supposed restrictions – i.e., checkpoints and roadblocks – on free movement of people and goods in the West Bank. An important question now is whether Oxfam International can claim to come to the Middle East table with its moral righteousness intact.
Eli Levine: The Jews of Venezuela— Hundreds of thousands of protestors have rocked the Venezuelan capital of Caracas over the past five weeks. Over 30 protestors have been killed. A pregnant woman was the latest casualty. In light of the recent chaos, Aish.com interviewed a member of the Jewish community of Caracas this week. He says that the story of Venezuelan turmoil is 15 years in the making. We are using a pseudonym to protect his identity. “Today, I just found out a friend of mine, a Jew, was assassinated,” Daniel said to Aish.com. “He was trying to defend his property.”
Jim Yardley: Is George Orwell Working in the White House?— You have to wonder sometimes if one of the multitude of “special advisors” to Barack Obama has a George Orwell fetish. All of us have read hundreds of blog articles and thousands of comments made in passing by co-workers, family, friends and the occasional total stranger that allude to the Obama administration and it’s resemblance to George Orwell’s seminal work, 1984.
Chriss Street: Europe Runs Out of Other People’s Money— Margaret Thatcher famously commented on the European welfare state spending, “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” European elites are panicking over a report in the Financial Times of London titled, Data Deepen Eurozone Deflation Fears. With government spending at 50% of the gross domestic product, the 28 countries of the European Union have pursued economic policies that generate inflation to spike tax collections by pushing their citizens into higher progressive tax brackets. Having stifled economic growth and used inflation to tax away prosperity, European elites should panic.
Bruce Bawer: War Over Wilders— On March 19, addressing supporters in The Hague after a local election, Geert Wilders, head of the Freedom Party (PVV), asked if they wanted more or less of the European Union. “Less!” they shouted. Did they want more or less of the Labor Party? “Less!” they repeated. Then he asked, “Do you want, in this city and in the Netherlands, more or fewer Moroccans?”
David Waciski: A Localized Culture of Violence— H.L. Mencken once said “For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.” This quote seems applicable to the activists who blame a “culture of violence” for the high rate of firearms-related homicides in the United States and propose restrictions on or elimination of 2nd Amendment rights as the solution. A previous article “Guns Don’t Kill People, Democrats Kill People” examined three diverse states and demonstrated that the majority of firearm homicides in 2013 occurred in the small fraction of the voter precincts that overwhelmingly voted for Democrat candidates.

Adolf Hitler couldn’t have said it any better. In Erdogan’s Turkey, a “state secret” is anything that makes him and his Islamist brothers look like what they actually are—maniacal despots bent on destruction.

Malachi 2: 13-16
“This is another thing you do: you cover the altar of Yahweh with tears, with weeping and with groaning, because He no longer regards the offering or accepts it with favor from your hand. Yet you say, ‘For what reason?’ Because Yahweh has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant. But not one has done so who has a remnant of the Spirit. And what did that one do while he was seeking a godly offspring? Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth. For I hate divorce,” says Yahweh, the God of Israel, “and him who covers his garment with wrong,” says Yahweh Sabaoth. “So take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now. There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone. Click here to order the eBook. It’s about a travesty of justice, and it reveals Yahweh intervening in the life of a believer to rescue her from danger in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.
