Elad Benari—Senators Told to ‘Ignore Israel’ On Iran:

Republican senators who were briefed on Wednesday about recent talks with Iran were reportedly told to “ignore anything the Israelis say” about the issue, BuzzFeed reports.

Members of the Senate Banking Committee who spoke to the website after a briefing by Secretary of State John Kerry and lead Iran negotiator Wendy Sherman sharply criticized the presentation.

The briefing came as part of an ongoing appeal by the Obama administration to the Senate to hold off on a new round of sanctions against Iran.

Senator Mark Kirk (R-Il.), a member of the Banking Committee, described the briefing as “very unconvincing” and, in what seems more disturbing, he said it was also “anti-Israeli”.

13--Perspectives 2

#####

Dore Gold: The Emerging Geneva Agreement with Iran—Eliminating Iran’s 20%-enriched uranium, but allowing the Iranians to continue to produce 3.5%-enriched uranium, is an unacceptable option if the goal of the West is to prevent Iran from advancing to a nuclear weapon. Allowing Iran to enrich to the 3.5% level will not address the threat emanating from Iran’s latest generation of faster centrifuges and the scenario of a fast dash by Iran to weapons-grade uranium, known as “nuclear break-out.”

Terresa Monroe-Hamilton: Obama’s Betrayal of Israel and Arming of Iran— Obama’s betrayal of Israel is stunning and completely predictable. It’s right on schedule along with the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. I don’t know how anyone could be surprised by this. Whispers are on the wind that a nuclear deal is within reach between the US and Iran, but the US has already been quietly lifting financial sanctions, enabling the terrorist Islamic state. While Obama and his Muslim acolytes have been busy emboldening, financing and arming Iran to destroy tiny Israel, he has distracted America with a myriad of emergencies and shiny objects all of which spell death to Israel and eventually death to America. The infidels have been duped and Iran is now simulating missile attacks on Israel, getting ready for the big show to come.

Karl Vick: Israel Remains Suspicious As Iran Nuclear Talks StallIt’s an extremely technical business, negotiating a nuclear agreement. But in the case of the talks in Geneva last week over the Iranian program, a helpful level of understanding can be had simply by seeing who goes where. The easiest way to tell that Tehran and world powers were close to at least an interim accord over the weekend was seeing who showed up unexpectedly in Geneva:  U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry broke off a trip to northern Africa to swoop in, joining European diplomats of the rank appropriate for signing such a document, should one be agreed upon.

George Jonas: We Pay, Iran Promises— The West was ready to sign a deal with Tehran’s nuclear ayatollahs in which they get billions in lifted sanctions, and in return we get a promise that they’ll develop their nukes more slowly. That’s the deal. We pay, they promise. The reality is that nukes are proliferating not in peaceable kingdoms but in bellicose tyrannies, and the question is, when are we stopping them? Today, when it’s already too costly, or tomorrow, when it may also be too late?

Dror Eydar: According to Grey Lady, the wicked will prosper— And then U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry ran in a frenzy all the way to Geneva. Peace is fast approaching, and we must seize it with both hands. The Iranians realized the U.S. had taken the bait; it was Munich 1938 all over again. The only thing missing was the umbrella in Kerry’s hand. Through their use of flattery, Iranian hagglers managed to make a declining West dance to their own tune. The sight of Kerry scrambling to Geneva was their cue to toughen their stance.

Alan Dershowitz: Nuclear Peace With Iran in Our Time: Is This Our Chamberlain Moment?— The deal that has been offered to Iran—to soften some sanctions in return for a promise by the mullahs to preserve the status quo with regard to their nuclear program—does not serve the interest of peace.  This is not to discourage further diplomacy and negotiation, but it is to underline what Secretary of State John Kerry has said:  namely that a bad deal is worse than no deal.  This is a very bad deal for America, its allies and peace.

Con Coughlin: We Must Not Capitulate to Iran over Its Nuclear Program—In previous negotiations the Iranians have frequently indulged in delaying tactics, stringing out the talks so that Western negotiators are led to believe they are about to get a deal, when in fact they were just buying themselves more time. As every nuclear expert knows, there will come a point when Iran has enough enriched uranium that it can press ahead with building a nuclear weapon. For all the encouraging noises being made by the Iranian delegation, there has been no let-up in Iran’s uranium enrichment activities. Thankfully it has been left to the French to demonstrate that not everyone taking part in the Geneva talks is gullible enough to accept the Iranian promises of good behavior at face value.

Brian Murphy: Deal struck on wider UN inspections of Iran sites— U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Iranian envoys had backed away from a wider deal this weekend seeking to ease Western concerns that Tehran could one day develop atomic weapons. Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, countered by criticizing Kerry’s remarks, telling an Iranian TV talk show that the American’s “conflicting statements” damaged confidence in the process, adding that “considerable progress was made” in Geneva. The flurry of announcements and comments showed both the complexities and urgency in trying to move ahead on an accord between Iran and world powers after the talks in Geneva failed to produce a deal.

Dr. Ephraim Kam: No takebacks— There is no reason to be happy about the latest round of talks in Geneva failing to end with an agreement. The sides have already agreed, more or less, on the framework of the deal and on some of its details. More discussions will still be needed, and perhaps the Israeli protestations will move Western governments to try harder with Iran. But the deal is not far off. The reason is simple: The Iranians are very much in need of a deal for sanctions to begin being removed, and the six superpower governments want a deal in the hopes that it will maybe stop Iran’s nuclear program.

Daniel Pipes: The silver lining of Obama’s weak America— That the socialist French government of François Hollande just blocked a bad deal with Tehran, emerging as the hero of the Geneva negotiations, is on one level a huge surprise. But it also follows logically from the passivity of the Obama administration. American foreign policy is in unprecedented free-fall, with a feckless and distracted White House barely paying attention to the outside world, and when it does, acting in an inconsistent, weak, and fantastical manner. If one were to discern something so grand as an Obama Doctrine, it would read: “Snub friends, coddle opponents, devalue American interests, seek consensus, and act unpredictably.”

14--Blessings from Revelation 2

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
