Daniel Greenfield: Why is Obama Refusing to Use the Israeli Knesset for his Big Speech?— The real purpose of Obama’s visit to Israel is to give a “high profile” speech to the “youth” of Israel calling for a renewed push for peace and framing Israel’s relationship with the United States in terms of the peace process.

4--Scripture of the Day

Daniel 2: 44-45

“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever. Inasmuch as you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands and that it crushed the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold, the great God has made known to the king what will take place in the future; so the dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”

5--HNIY Print form

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important.  It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.  It’s also available for free in PDF format.

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

13--Perspectives

#####

Khaled Abu Toameh: If a Palestinian State Were Established—As President Obama prepares to visit the region, he would do well to take the following facts into consideration: Any agreement reached between Israel and the Palestinian Authority would be rejected by a large number of Palestinians, especially Palestinian refugees who continue to insist on the “right of return” to their former villages inside Israel. A majority of Arabs and Muslims would also reject such a peace agreement, especially in the wake of the “Arab Spring.”

Orhan Kemal Cengiz: Turkey, Israel and International Law—When Turkey starts to use international law to deal with Israel, there is a great chance that the same mechanisms will be used against Turkey. Despite calls from the EU, Turkey does not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court because it is afraid that three major issues would be brought to the court.

Washington Post Editorial: Syria’s Bloody Anniversary—Two years ago this week, protests erupted against the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad. Most likely, as the regime slowly loses ground to the rebels, Syria will crack into pieces controlled by rival authorities – including a regime remnant in Damascus or along the Mediterranean coast, backed by Iran, and an al-Qaeda-controlled zone along the border with Iraq. Fighting along sectarian lines, and between extremist and moderate Sunnis, will continue to spread into Lebanon and Iraq, destabilizing both those countries. Eventually the regime may resort to using chemical or biological weapons or attempt to transfer them to its Lebanese or Iranian allies.

Michael Curtis: The Syrian Yarmouk Brigades: A New Islamic Threat to the West?—While almost unknown in the West, “Yarmouk” has a deep meaning in the Islamic world.

David Brog: The Media’s True Failure in Gaza—Earlier this week, the UN confirmed that the tragic death of 11-month-old Omar al-Mishrawi, previously blamed on Israel, was actually the result of a Hamas missile that fell short of its target. Here’s how the Washington Post’s Max Fisher explained away his rush to implicate Israel in this death: “It’s difficult to see how knowing whose rocket or missile killed Mishrawi would resolve the larger questions for which that debate is a proxy….These are notoriously thorny debates. As with so many protracted geopolitical conflicts, neither side comes out looking as angelic or demonic as its partisans might wish.”

Efraim Inbar: Israel Is Not Isolated—A close look at Israel’s interaction with countries near and far, as well as with international institutions, belies the claim that it is isolated.

Jamie Dettmer: Hizbullah, Jabhat al-Nusra Set for Showdown in Syria—A new development could bring sectarian conflict that much closer to Lebanon and have wider repercussions for the entire Arab region: the likelihood of a confrontation between Lebanon’s Shiite Hizbullah and Sunni fighters with Jabhat al-Nusra, the jihadistmilitia that has evolved into the most effective rebel formation fighting to oust Assad in Syria.

Barry Rubin: The Secret Document That Set Obama’s Middle East Policy—“… we have to confront is violent extremism in all of its forms. … America is not — and never will be — at war with Islam. We will, however, relentlessly confront violent extremists who pose a grave threat to our security — because we reject the same thing that people of all faiths reject: the killing of innocent men, women, and children. And it is my first duty as president to protect the American people.”  – President Barack Obama, Cairo, June 2009; “The United States is now experiencing the beginning of its end, and is heading towards its demise. … Resistance is the only solution. [Today the United States] is withdrawing from Iraq, defeated and wounded, and it is also on the verge of withdrawing from Afghanistan. [All] its warplanes, missiles, and modern military technology were defeated by the will of the peoples, as long as [these peoples] insisted on resistance.”  – Muslim Brotherhood leader Muhammad al-Badri, Cairo, September 2010.  What did the president know, and when did he know it? That’s a question made classic by the Watergate scandal. Now, it is possible to trace precisely what Obama knew and when he knew it. And it proves that the installment of power of the Muslim Brotherhood was a conscious and deliberate strategy of the Obama administration, developed before the “Arab Spring” began.

Dovid Efune: One Small Step for Media Accuracy on Israel—This week, two vicious, accusatory and vastly damaging media reports about Israel were publicly exposed to be false. As is often the case…

Matthew Brooks: Foreign Policy Priorities Must Include Pro-Israel Actions—The strong ties between the U.S. and Israel find expression in the traditionally bipartisan support for Israel in Congress and in…

Adam Levick: A Nation So Racist that the Cinematic Depiction of Jews is Deemed a Security Risk—The most egregious example of bias against Israel demonstrated by the mainstream media is the dynamic by which they…

David Schenker: Israel’s Next Front: Syria— For the better part of 40 years, the Syrian border has been the quietest of Israel’s frontiers. Notwithstanding Israel’s 1973 capture and subsequent annexation of Syrian territory in the Golan and Bashar Assad’s ongoing support for terrorist organizations targeting the Jewish state, the border has been tranquil since the signing of the 1974 armistice. Indeed, the boundary with Syria—a state officially still at war with Israel—has proven even more secure than Israel’s lengthy borders with its nominal peace partners Egypt and Jordan.

Tom Blumer: Obama: Our Out-of-Control Debt Is ‘Sustainable’ for the Next Decade—In early February, the Congressional Budget Office, using fairly aggressive growth assumptions, projected that the government will run cumulative deficits during the next ten fiscals years through 2023 amounting to $7 trillion, and that the “debt held by the public” (i.e., what Uncle Sam owes its bondholders and creditors) will grow by $7.7 trillion.

Herb Keinon: Arad: Obama Not Coming to Press Israel on Palestinians—Uzi Arad, who sat in on Obama-Netanyahu meetings as Netanyahu’s national security adviser for the first two years of the prime minister’s second term, is not among those who believe that foremost on President Obama’s mind will be pressing Israel on the Palestinian issue.

Yoav Zitun: IDF Military Intelligence Chief Surveys Middle East Threats—IDF Military Intelligence chief Maj.-Gen. Aviv Kochavi said Thursday that “some senior Iranian officials are saying that maybe the nuclear program ought to be reconsidered due to the sanctions.” He added that “the nuclear program is progressing, but Iran is making sure not to cross any internationally perceived ‘red lines.’ Their chief goal is to preserve the regime.”

Gwen Ackerman: Israel Ramps Up Its Cyberdefense Training—Twice a week about 200 Israeli high school students in seven separate locations meet after school for six hours of extra classes. The students ace two exams to qualify for the extra tutelage, which is taught by veterans of the Israel Defense Forces. The students are training to become the best cyberwarriors in the world. Israel’s government networks are among the most highly attacked anywhere, with daily assaults numbering in the tens of thousands.

Avi Zimmerman: IDF Reserve Duty: A Stone’s-Throw Away from Home—My reserve service, being situated in the vicinity of Ariel, passing by my home on a regular basis, clarifies what every single Israeli is aware of – that he would not be able to sleep soundly at night if not for the IDF. By the same token, IDF soldiers occasionally experience a profound sense that, “wow, I’m really protecting my country.”

Glenn Fairman: Human Excellence and Dependency: Who Built What?—”You didn’t build that” carries with it all the statist arrogance and ideological narcissism that has ruined the Social Democracies of Europe.

J. Robert Smith: Broadway’s Matilda: Pro-life and Pro-family?—Matilda sneaks a surprisingly traditional message under the radar of today’s politically-correct Broadway.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
