Steve McCann: First Comes Honor—A nation without honor is a nation without a future. Today the United States finds itself in a quagmire of ever-increasing self-doubt and foreboding. Chief among the factors that have brought America to this point has been the abandonment of a sense of what is right.

4--Scripture of the Day

Ezekiel 45: 18-20

Thus says Adonai Yahweh, “In the first month, on the first of the month, you shall take a young bull without blemish and cleanse the sanctuary. The priest shall take some of the blood from the sin offering and put it on the door posts of the house, on the four corners of the ledge of the altar and on the posts of the gate of the inner court. Thus you shall do on the seventh day of the month for everyone who goes astray or is naive; so you shall make atonement for the house.”

5--HNIY Print form

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important.  It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

Evelyn Gordon: Turkey Threatens to Attack Israel; Media Stays Mum—This weekend, a NATO member threatened to attack one of America’s major non-NATO allies–and nobody in Washington even appears to have noticed. According to the Turkish daily Hurriyet, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu lambasted Israel’s reported airstrike on an arms convoy inside Syria and warned that “Turkey would not stay unresponsive to an Israeli attack against any Muslim country.” He also lambasted Syrian President Bashar Assad for failing to launch retaliatory strikes against Israel himself and charged that Assad must have “made a secret deal with Israel.”

Joseph Klein: Why Israel Was Justified in Attacking Syria—The Jewish State does the work the UN has failed to do by preventing Hezbollah from acquiring more weapons.

Ariel ben Solomon: Analysis: Ankara, Jerusalem ties unlikely to improve—Recent threatening statements by top-ranking Turkish government officials against Israel demonstrate that any rapprochement between Israel and Turkey is not likely in the near future, or as long as Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan remains in power. All talk about a possible deal between the countries ignores the continuing rhetoric, actions and Islamist ideology of the Turkish regime, which seeks to lead the Arab world toward a new phase of uprisings and Islamist governments in the region.

Ruthie Blum: Taking moral relativism to immoral heights— A study that ignores the Palestinian glorification of martyrdom simply oils the cogs of the Palestinian propaganda machine.

David M. Weinberg: End the haredi chokehold— Rolling back ultra-Orthodox influence on matters of religion and state is critical to the health and unity of this country.

Gideon Allon: An insider’s guide to the Knesset— Before the Knesset members become totally overwhelmed, a veteran Knesset reporter offers some friendly advice.

Nir Gaist: Soft spot: The cyber battlefield— Israel must move much more quickly toward considerably enhancing its actual cyber defensive capabilities.

Michael Filozof: New York’s ‘SAFE’ Act: The ‘Rape’ of the Second Amendment— The most widely reported provision of the law is the total ban on the sale of military-style rifles classified as “assault weapons,” effective Jan. 15.  The provision forever prohibits anyone other than a law enforcement agency from acquiring such weapons, including the popular hunting and target variants of the AR-15 rifle.  Current owners of such rifles must register them with the state by 2014, and the registration must be renewed every five years.  This gives the state a list of persons from which to confiscate them in the future, and the five-year renewal provision gives the state an excuse to find ways to deny ownership once every five years.  Current owners of such rifles may never sell them to another New York State resident in the future. Shockingly enough, in many ways the “assault weapons ban” is actually one of the statute’s lesser infringements on the Second Amendment.

Carol Brown: Government schools gone wild— A group of students at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins Colorado have altered the pledge of allegiance by saying “One nation under Allah.” Apparently the group prides itself on being multicultural, one of the great code words these days for all things stupid.

Thomas Sowell: Prophets and Losses—Now that the federal government is playing an ever larger role in the economy, a look at Washington’s track record seems to be long overdue.

Jonathan S. Tobin: If You Can’t Insult Ahmadinejad …—Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a leading figure in a tyrannical regime that has murdered untold numbers of his own people and which funds international terrorism that has claimed the lives of many Americans, including our soldiers in Iraq. He is a Holocaust denier and, like the government he fronts, is a font of vicious anti-Semitic invective that has repeatedly threatened to destroy the State of Israel. But, according to a Michigan congressman, Americans should mind their manners when speaking of him.

Georgy Gounev: Obama’s Egyptian Dilemma—President Obama and Secretary Clinton, were not able to develop an effective strategy towards Islamic terror. The actions of the current administration are facilitating the growth of the poisonous seeds of radical Islam.

Jonathan S. Tobin: The Point of Obama’s Gun Tour—With President Obama heading out on the road today for another campaign stop to promote his gun control package, thanks go, as they often have in the past, to Vice President Biden for helping to put the issue in perspective with some unscripted candor. The tenor of the discussion about the proposals has, since the president first unveiled them last month, been largely emotional as it seeks to tap into the universal horror felt by Americans about the Newtown shooting. But Biden made it clear that any thought that the White House’s advocacy on guns was geared to prevent a recurrence of that massacre is something between a fib and a forlorn hope. Speaking Thursday at the Capitol, Biden told reporters the following: Nothing we are going to do is fundamentally going to alter or eliminate the possibility of another mass shooting or guarantee that we will bring gun deaths down.

Dr. Rafael Medoff: Ed Koch, FDR, and the Holocaust—What about claims that helping the Jews would have undermined Roosevelt’s ability to convince the public to fight Hitler? “I don’t accept that,” Koch said. “I believe that the American public could have accepted saving Jews.” Koch wasn’t a sociologist. He just knew what he had experienced among the people he met in the neighborhoods where he lived and worked. Some were bigots, but most weren’t.

The Jewish Press: Head of UN Rights Panel: Report Is ‘Weapon’ against Israel— The head of the UN panel that issued a one-sided report attacking Israel, has said publicly that the document could be “a kind of weapon for the Palestinians.”

JINSA Report #1139: Supporting Israel in the Face of Syrian War Spillover—Last week, the Israeli Air Force reportedly attacked two different targets in Syria. One is said to have been a convoy ferrying advanced anti-aircraft missiles to the Shiite terrorist organization Hezbollah, the other, a large compound reported to contain training camps and research facilities housing Russian technicians as well a number of Iranian special operations troops. Accounts are incomplete and Israel has not officially acknowledged either attack.

Isi Leibler: Candidly Speaking: Hypocrisy, deceit, evil at the UN— Israel is the first country to boycott the annual human rights review presented at the bogus United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Despite being tacitly rebuked by the US, Israel was justified in doing so. For years, while ignoring the rampant denial of human rights and the butchering of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians throughout the world, the proceedings of this despicably biased body were concentrated on relentlessly condemning, demonizing and delegitimizing the Jewish state.

Arthur Herman: Why Israel will rule the new Middle East— If you still think the future of Israel looks bleak, think again. A few months ago it looked like the Jewish state might not survive until 2013. Rockets were raining down from Gaza; revolution was about to install one Islamicist government in Egypt, and another was poised to take over in Syria. Iran was threatening to finish what Hitler’s Holocaust started, with an atomic bomb. The Obama administration seemed unwilling to stop that happening– while Israel’s only alternative to nuclear annihilation was a preemptive strike that was bound to start a major shooting war in the Middle East.

Daniel Pipes: What Planet Does John Kerry Live On?— The two-day old tenure of Secretary of State John Kerry got off to a flying start today with an astonishing statement from his ambassador to Egypt, Anne W. Patterson, at a joint ceremony in Cairo to mark the delivery of four American-made F-16 aircraft: Today’s ceremony demonstrates the firm belief of the United States that a strong Egypt is in the interest of the U.S., the region, and the world. We look to Egypt to continue to serve as a force for peace, security, and leadership as the Middle East proceeds with its challenging yet essential journey toward democracy. . . . Our 34-year security partnership is based upon shared interests and mutual respect. The United States has long recognized Egypt as an indispensible partner.

Gary Jason: Domestic Energy: Triumph in the Face of Adversity—The real problem is that “adversity” is the word to characterize our own government.

Chris W. Bell: What the Despised Rich, Smart Kids, and Fallen Heroes Have in Common—In the same manner that they have demonized the rich as being undeserving, progressives are now demonizing gifted students.

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
