4--Scripture of the Day

Ezekiel 43: 1-5

Then he led me to the gate, the gate facing toward the east; and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory. And it was like the appearance of the vision which I saw, like the vision which I saw when He came to destroy the city. And the visions were like the vision which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face. And the glory of Yahweh came into the house by the way of the gate facing toward the east. And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

5--HNIY Print form

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important.  It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.

  • God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
  • “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
  • “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land.  In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)
  • Yeshua said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” (John 8: 58)

13--Perspectives

#####

Bernard Starr: Jesus Was Jewish? That’s News to Many Christians— When I interviewed Christians and Jews for my book “Jesus Uncensored: Restoring the Authentic Jew,” I heard over and over “everyone knows Jesus was Jewish.” But when I dug a little deeper I discovered that “everyone knows he was Jewish” really means “he used to be Jewish.” Then I found that many still believe that Jesus was born Christian and that he launched a new religion.

Boaz Bismuth: A different America, a different president—America has changed. The most recent election campaign has proven just how much.

Ely Karmon: The Hostage Kidnapping in Algeria Was Planned Before France’s Mali Intervention—The hostage-taking at the Algerian BP facility has only indirect connection with the French intervention in Mali, and was planned many weeks or even months before the Mali incident. The attack is connected with the in-fighting among the various factions of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). Mokhtar Belmokhtar, head of AQIM’s southern Sahara unit, is in conflict with the present emir of AQIM, Abu Musab Abdel Wadoud, who refused to nominate him as emir. It was reported that Belmokhtar split from AQIM, or was expelled from the organization, in the last months of 2012.

Barry Rubin: White House Confronting–Sort of–Egyptian President’s Frothing Hatred of Jews Reveals Its Deeper Policy Thinking— When it came to light that Egypt’s new president had made blatantly anti-Semitic remarks (in the Western context today, they could also be called racist), it finally became necessary for the U.S. government to reluctantly and grudgingly remark on these statements, through the medium of spokesman Jay Carney. (By the way, this also occurred only after the New York Times covered the story, putting Morsi in the most apologetic light.) A State Department statement said that Morsi now saying he is against intolerance was an important first step, and they expected him to show that he believes in religious tolerance….

Steven Plaut: Reporting on the Radical Left Is ‘Spying’?—Absurd claims of political oppression from the tenured extremists running Israeli universities.

Michael Widlanski: Staring Down the Dangers of Modernity—Humans have been inventing things that save and improve lives for a while, but we now realize these signs of modernity can also hurt and kill us, and they therefore need to be controlled: guns, subway trains, ice cream drinks and supermodels…

Robert Spencer: Algeria: Obama’s Chickens Come Home to Roost—Latest jihad attack a harbinger of much more — and much worse — to come.

Oleg Atbashian: The Collectivist Mind Game, Part 1: Demonizing the Non-Compliant—In a society shaped by the government’s mind games of manipulative illusions, a dissenter sticks out like a sore thumb. Once the resistance has been demonized, its members will be quickly identified and denounced by the compliant citizenry.

Steve McCann: The Left’s Inability To Be Civil—The lifeblood of a Democracy is civil discourse. It is painfully obvious that the left, the mainstream media, and the Democratic Party have no interest in any other point of view or even the future of the country.

Roger Kimball: The Next Target of Leftists: Talk Radio—Why? Because it represents an independent source of opinion.

William A. Levinson: Governor Cuomo: Dishonesty is not Enough—When abusing state power in order to harass law-abiding gun owners and manufacturers, you need incompetence as well.

Janet M. LaRue: Clergy Declares Holy War on NRA—The battle to demonize the National Rifle Association became a religious crusade when the Rev. Jim Wallis, CEO of Sojourners and “progressive” spiritual advisor to President Obama, convened some clergy for a witch trial.

Andrew E. Harrod: The New Moral McCarthyism—In free societies, pornography largely remains an often frowned upon matter of private adult autonomy while the global homosexual movement is increasingly gaining acceptance of its agenda as a civil rights issue demanding public approval.

William Voegeli: Against Swedenization— Imagine a foreign visitor who has learned just one fact about America: For the past century our politics has been defined by a contest between two movements, one intermittently calling itself “progressive” and the other more consistently calling itself “conservative.” He would rightly conclude from those labels that partisans of the two movements agree that the arc of history bends toward progressivism and away from conservatism. Progressives, that is, believe they have history’s wind in their sails. They constitute, in that sense, the party of the future. Conservatives, on the other hand, are committed to the stewardship and transmission of a legacy that is both vulnerable, thereby requiring conservation, and valuable, thereby deserving it. Conservatives thus constitute the party of the past.

James Pethokoukis: Deficit Dreams— If only President Obama could issue an executive order disappearing the national debt. If only Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi could simply wish the deficits away. They can’t, of course. But that doesn’t mean some on the left aren’t trying anyway. For instance, last Friday economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman wrote that “neither the current deficit nor projected future spending deserve to be anywhere near the top of our political agenda . . . [there’s] no big problem in the medium term, no strong case for worrying now about long-run budget issues.”

Bill Straub: Supreme Court May Have Final Word on Obama’s Gun Control—So what does the high court’s history say?

Star Parker: Are MLK’s Christian Values Welcome Today?—The Rev. Louie Giglio, designated to give the benediction at this year’s presidential inauguration, has withdrawn, under apparent pressure, after the surfacing of remarks he made, some 25 years ago, about the sinfulness of homosexuality.

Daniel J. Mitchell: Suspended for Playing Cops and Robbers? The Continuing Wussification of America—I’ve had fun documenting and comparing examples of government stupidity in both the United States and United Kingdom, and today’s story clearly belongs on those lists.

Tim Carney: Beneficiaries of Obama’s policies bankroll inauguration—Major corporations profiting from Obama policies are bankrolling President Obama’s official inaugural committee. While we know the names of the donors to Obama’s inaugural, we don’t know much…

14--Blessings from Revelation

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now.  There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.
