Facts about the West Bank and the Middle East Peace Process
Where Israel is concerned, the mainstream media has done a terrible job of reporting. Most of the so-called “facts” they present aren’t facts, and the truth seldom sees the light of day. Below are two short videos that will help you to understand the West Bank and the Middle East peace process. Please take a few minutes to watch them. You’ll be glad you did.
- Israel Palestinian Conflict: The Truth About the West Bank
- Israel Palestinian Conflict: The Truth About the Peace Process
The Palestinian and Hamas Charters
The Palestinian and Hamas Charters reveal an ugly truth that you need to take hold of. You can access them by clicking on the hyperlink in the previous sentence, or you can read them in the Appendix at the end of this book. You need to read the documents themselves to fully appreciate what Israel is up against. If you don’t realize what Israel’s neighbors are trying to accomplish, there is no way you can understand the Middle East peace process.
Yasser Arafat, founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), stated the Palestinian position on Israel clearly and concisely:
“Since we cannot defeat Israel in war we do this in stages. We take any and every territory that we can of Palestine, and establish sovereignty there, and we use it as a springboard to take more. When the time comes, we can get the Arab nations to join us for the final blow against Israel.” (Yasser Arafat speaking on Jordanian television, September 13, 1993—the same day the Oslo Peace Accord ceremony was held in Washington, D.C.)
Arafat also said,
“Peace for us means the destruction of Israel. We are preparing for an all-out war, a war which will last for generations. Since January 1965, when Fatah was born, we have become the most dangerous enemy that Israel has….We shall not rest until the day when we return to our home, and until we destroy Israel.” (El Mundo, Caracas, Venezuela, February 11, 1980)
It doesn’t get any clearer than that, and Arafat meant what he said. Nothing that has happened in the Middle East since the PLO was founded or since the Oslo Peace Accord was signed contradicts those statements.
Even though Arafat died in 2004, his philosophies are alive and well. Leaders at all levels in both Hamas and Fatah—the political party that is the major force behind the PLO—continue to push ahead with their plans that they hope and believe will lead to Israel’s eventual annihilation. Hamas rules the Gaza Strip and Fatah rules the West Bank. Saying that they don’t get along is an understatement. Clandestine operations, murder, and intrigue mark their relationship, but as I said, they agree on one thing. They both hate Israel.
The Palestinian and Hamas Charters paint a portrait of a people wholly committed to one thing—Israel’s total destruction. They have a rabid fetish for Israeli blood—particularly the blood of innocent Israeli civilians, and they will be satisfied with nothing less than the elimination of the tiny Jewish homeland in their midst. President Obama, the European Union, and the Quartet can’t change that reality, and ignoring it will be the costliest mistake they will ever make.
Israel’s Problem is Bigger than Hamas and Fatah
Israel’s problem is bigger than Hamas and Fatah. The entire Arab world refuses to recognize Israel’s existence. It’s true that Israel signed peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, but the “Arab Spring” proved that those pieces of paper aren’t worth very much.
Arabs see Israel as the enemy, and the Arab street is committed to Israel’s destruction. Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, and a host of other Islamist groups with menacing names take full advantage of Arab animosity toward Israel, and they use all the resources at their disposal to incite violence against Israel. If you read SnyderTalk, you know that. What is President Obama’s problem? Is he unable to understand what is taking place right in front of his eyes?
Facts about Palestine and “Palestinians”
The Pages in the column on the right of each SnyderTalk post contain a wealth of information with which you should be familiar. One of those pages is titled Facts About Palestine and “Palestinians”. Below is some content from that page:
- People we call “Palestinians” today are in large measure descendants of a hodgepodge of unruly Arabs that none of the Arab nations wanted to absorb following Israel’s War of Independence in 1948, and for good reason. For instance, Palestinians who migrated to Jordan following Israel’s War of Independence created havoc for King Hussein, so he booted them out killing thousands of them in the process during Black September. Click here and here for details. “Palestinians” then fled to Lebanon and helped to foment the Lebanese Civil War which lasted for more than 15 years and cost untold more lives.
- The Romans changed the name of Israel to Palestine following the Bar Kochba rebellion in 135 B.C. Click here for details. They chose that name to insult Jewish people because the Philistines were Israel’s mortal enemies.
- Until 1948, anyone who lived in the country we call Israel today was regarded as a “Palestinian,” including Jewish people. Click here for details.
- The number of Jews forced out of Arab countries in 1948 was greater than the number of Arabs who chose to leave “Palestine” for what they thought would be a short time while the Arab nations “drove the Jews into the sea.” Since tiny Israel defeated the combined Arab armies, they found themselves homeless.
- Rather than absorb the “Palestinians” who were displaced by the War of Independence, the Arab nations opted instead to set up refugee camps for them. They did this to create squalid living conditions for “Palestinians” in hopes of winning global support for an anti-Israel public relations campaign. Click here for details. It’s worth noting that Israel absorbed more than 850,000 Jewish refugees from Arab countries following the War of Independence. Click here for details.
- Yasser Arafat (an Egyptian, click here for details) commandeered the name “Palestinian” in 1964 when he created the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Click here for details. The primary purpose of the PLO was and is to destroy Israel. Click here for details.
The mainstream media spreads lies about Israel with reckless abandon, and masses of people buy what they are being told. Believers need to prepare for the inevitable confrontations that will result when those lies are exposed. I said “inevitable confrontations” because saving face is of paramount importance to Arabs, and in their world, launching unprovoked attacks against Israel is an acceptable way to save face. It’s as though they say, “We don’t have anything better to do, so why don’t we attack Israel?” That may sound silly, but I think it is very close to the truth—if not the truth.
This is an excerpt from If You Voted for Obama in 2008 to Prove You’re Not a Racist, You Need to Vote for Someone Else in 2012 to Prove You’re Not an Idiot. You need to buy the book, read it, and share it. Don’t take anything for granted. If we fail to do our job, we will get four more years of Obama. Click here to order the eBook. Lamentations 3: 60-63
You have seen all their vengeance, all their schemes against me. You have heard their reproach, O Yahweh, all their schemes against me. The lips of my assailants and their whispering are against me all day long. Look on their sitting and their rising; I am their mocking song.

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important. It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.
- God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.” (Exodus 3: 15)
- “Therefore behold, I am going to make them know—this time I will make them know My power and My might; and they shall know that My name is Yahweh.” (Jeremiah 16: 21)
- “Behold, the days are coming,” declares Yahweh, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘Yahweh our righteousness.’” (Jeremiah 23: 5-6)

Blessings in the Book of Revelation is a book that you need to read, especially now. There are blessings throughout the Scriptures but Revelation is the only book in the Bible actually containing a specific blessing for reading it. It’s repeated twice, once at the beginning and again at the end. This is the reason that I believe Revelation should be the first step toward studying biblical prophecy. Though not easy to do, Revelation can be broken down and understood by anyone, not just the academic elite. So, Revelation’s blessings are for everyone. Click here to order the eBook.
