Jeremiah 12: 14-17

Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them.  And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land.  Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people.  But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh.

Jeremiah 32: 16-25

“After I had given the deed of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, then I prayed to Yahweh, saying, ‘Ah Adonai Yahweh! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm!  Nothing is too difficult for You, who shows lovingkindness to thousands, but repays the iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their children after them, O great and mighty God. Yahweh Sabaoth is His name; great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the sons of men, giving to everyone according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds; who has set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, and even to this day both in Israel and among mankind; and You have made a name for Yourself, as at this day.  You brought Your people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders, and with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm and with great terror; and gave them this land, which You swore to their forefathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. They came in and took possession of it, but they did not obey Your voice or walk in Your law; they have done nothing of all that You commanded them to do; therefore You have made all this calamity come upon them.  Behold, the siege ramps have reached the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans who fight against it, because of the sword, the famine and the pestilence; and what You have spoken has come to pass; and behold, You see it.  You have said to me, O Adonai Yahweh, ‘Buy for yourself the field with money and call in witnesses—although the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.’”

Falsely Accused is a true story about a young woman who was accused of committing a double homicide.  It’s about a travesty of justice, and it reveals Yahweh intervening in the life of a believer to rescue her from danger in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds.  Everyone will enjoy the book, but young people in particular need to read it because the mistakes made that led to the problem could have been avoided.  They were the kinds of mistakes that young people are prone to make.  As they say, forewarned is forearmed.  Click here to order the eBook.  Click here to order the paperback.

“I read a book.”  So what?

Two statements cause my antennae to go up when I get feedback from people I don’t know on something I’ve written or said: “I read a book” and “I read an article.”  Let me be clear at the outset: I have not read everything, and I know that there is a great deal of material that I still need to read and digest.  Even so, my experience has taught me that many if not most people do very little reading and they tend to lock in on the last thing they read or heard, particularly if someone they admire wrote or said it.

Life isn’t that simple, and neither is Yahweh.  Have you ever wondered why the Messiah told us to be on the alert for End of Days happenings, and then He told us that no one except the Father knows the day?  He even went so far as to caution believers that many false prophets will arise near the end, and they will mislead many.  I’ll bet that most of those false prophets read “AN” article or “A” book, or maybe “AN” idea popped into their heads and they had a “eureka moment.”

It pays to be careful when you read and listen because many of the people who want to influence you are peddling their own ideas, or they are just seeking attention.  Whatever the case may be, you should examine what you read and hear thoroughly before forming an opinion because once you accept something, it’s yours, and you will be held accountable.

I include a large number of articles in SnyderTalk that are written by a diverse group of people from all over the world because you need to hear many perspectives from people who have something meaningful to say before you reach a conclusion.  If you rely on just one source or just a few sources, you are making a terrible mistake.  No matter how thoughtful that person or those few people are and no matter how well-informed they are and no matter how well-intentioned they are, you are taking a big risk if you give too much weight to their views.

As strange as this may sound, many people allow others to assume a place in their lives that is reserved exclusively for Yahweh when they permit others to tell them what to believe.  The best single source of information is the Bible.  Start there, but you will quickly realize that many issues in the here and now don’t have obvious parallels in the Scriptures.  That means you will have to do some digging and some thinking on your own to find answers.  You should not try to circumvent the learning process by simply accepting what others say.  That may save you some time and energy, but you won’t learn what you need to learn.

At any given moment, there are at least a dozen books on my shelf that I am reading, and I read many articles every day as I prepare SnyderTalk.  Still, there is much more that I need to know so the learning process never ends, and it won’t end until Yahweh returns.  Even then, I suspect that it won’t end.  It will simply change because we’ll be able to ask Yahweh in Person.

Until Yahweh returns, we need to be as well-informed as possible.  I’ve designed SnyderTalk to be a great source of information for you, but it’s not the be all and end all, either.   It’s a great source and I think it’s the best source, but don’t take anything you read in SnyderTalk as the gospel unless it comes from the Bible.  Even if it does come from the Bible, you need to make sure that it’s appropriately applied.

Joel 3: 17-21

Then you will know that I am Yahweh your God, dwelling in Zion, My holy mountain.  So Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers will pass through it no more.  And in that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine, and the hills will flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah will flow with water; and a spring will go out from the house of Yahweh to water the valley of Shittim.  Egypt will become a waste, and Edom will become a desolate wilderness, because of the violence done to the sons of Judah, in whose land they have shed innocent blood.  But Judah will be inhabited forever and Jerusalem for all generations.  And I will avenge their blood which I have not avenged, for Yahweh dwells in Zion.

His Name is Yahweh

His Name is Yahweh explains why the Name of God, Yahweh, is so important.  It’s available in eBook format and in paperback.

God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ This [Yahweh] is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation.”

Exodus 3: 15
