This is the Word of Yahweh:
Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh. (Jeremiah 12: 14-17)

Right-wing crap? Hardly!
A while back, I got an email from a disgruntled SnyderTalk reader. He told me that he had been drawn to the website www.hisnameisyahweh.org and had gravitated over to www.snydertalk.com. When he saw the content of SnyderTalk, he was infuriated because, as he said, “it’s just a bunch of right-wing crap.” He said some other very unflattering things as well, but that’s another story. Today I want to explain that what he called “right-wing crap” is what I call the most important moral issues of our day.
Let’s start by taking a look at abortion. I’ve come down foursquare against it. Liberal progressives like to throw up rape and incest as good reasons to support “a woman’s right to choose”, but rape and incest account for a tiny fraction of the abortions performed in the US each year. Those issues are red herrings designed to take our eyes off the ball. Most women who decide to abort their babies do so because they think children will interfere with the lives they want to live. In effect, they trade the lives of their unborn children so they can … what? The kindest thing I can say is so they can live their lives without encumbrances from infants who need constant attention. In effect, they don’t want the responsibility of raising children, so they decide to end their children’s lives. That’s classic immorality, and it couldn’t be done if our laws where abortion is concerned were not immoral. This isn’t a right vs. left issue. It’s a right vs. wrong issue. If that offends you, I’m sorry, but my goal isn’t to tickle your ears.
And what about our deficit and debt situations? I devote a lot of space to the twin pillars of self-destruction because they amount to living large today at the expense of our children and grandchildren. We are trading creature comfort today for their misery down the road. That’s exactly what we’re doing, and guess what. That, too, is a moral issue. If it isn’t, I don’t know what is.
I could go on listing issues, but I won’t. This is the point I want to make. Many Christians have been led to believe that their opinions matter more than Yahweh’s word. Since we live in a representative republic, they think that the majority rules on every issue. It does in a temporal sense, but in an absolute sense our rulings have no bearing on Yahweh’s word. His word is true and will hold no matter what mortal men may say or do. This isn’t a right vs. left issue either. It boils down to standing with Yahweh regardless of the consequences, and I’ve chosen to stand with Him.
I want to be clear about this fact. It is by grace that any of us have been saved. As Isaiah said, “For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.” (Isaiah 64: 6) We all need a Savior, and thankfully Yahweh was willing to take the penalty for our sins on Himself so we can be saved. That said He didn’t die for us so we can commit cold-blooded murder with impunity. I’m not saying or implying that a person who has had an abortion, for instance, can’t be saved. I’m simply saying that Yahweh didn’t shed His blood so that we can wantonly take the lives of innocents.
For your information, SnyderTalk readership is up more than 300% year over year, and the growth rate in SnyderTalk readership is almost 15% per month. Obviously, there are people who are drawn to this message for the same reason I was. We were led here by Yahweh, and the message resonates with His people – not all of them, but a very large percentage of them. For that, I am thankful.
I am not a Republican, and I never have been. I was once a Democrat, but not any longer. Today, I’m as independent as I can be, and I do my best to take positions on issues that I think are in line with Yahweh’s word.
Paul said, “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4: 12-13) It should surprise no one that Yahweh’s word separates the wheat from the chaff. He said it would, and it does. The truth of Yahweh’s word has stood the test of time. I’ll stick with Him.
