This is the Word of Yahweh:
Thus says Yahweh concerning all My wicked neighbors who strike at the inheritance with which I have endowed My people Israel, “Behold I am about to uproot them from their land and will uproot the house of Judah from among them. And it will come about that after I have uprooted them, I will again have compassion on them; and I will bring them back, each one to his inheritance and each one to his land. Then if they will really learn the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ even as they taught My people to swear by Baal, they will be built up in the midst of My people. But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh. (Jeremiah 12: 14-17)

Isaiah 64: 5-6—You meet him who rejoices in doing righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways. Behold, You were angry, for we sinned, we continued in them a long time; and shall we be saved? For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment; and all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.

Omar Suleiman and the Muslim Brotherhood
Omar Suleiman, Egypt’s newly appointed vice president and former head of Egyptian intelligence, is not naïve about the risks associated with giving the Muslim Brotherhood a seat at the table in Egyptian government. He knows from bitter experience how dangerous they can be because of their repeated surreptitious attempts to undermine efforts to liberalize Egyptian society. The MBs primary goals are to depose the Egyptian government, to impose Sharia law, and to eradicate Israel – in that order. Their aim isn’t to liberalize. It’s to stigmatize and destroy. The world in which they live is eerily similar to the Dark Ages.
According to WikiLeaks, Mr. Suleiman has been very vocal in sounding the alarm, but to little or no avail. (See WikiLeaks: Suleiman on Dangers Posed by Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.) Western liberal progressives don’t see Suleiman as a reformer. They look upon him as a tyrant, a holdover from a brutal repressive regime and a man who can’t be trusted. (See Mr. Suleiman’s Empty Promises.) Despite Suleiman’s justifiable concerns, Western intellectual elites can’t fathom a world in which the MB doesn’t play an instrumental role in governing.
The MB was founded in Egypt, and it grew to maturity and prospered in Saudi Arabia. Today, it’s a vital part of the Wahhabi sect of Islam. More than any other group, the MB is responsible for the emergence of al Qaeda. Its adherents were instrumental in the rise to power of the Taliban in Afghanistan and in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Suleiman is fearful that any attempt to legitimize the MB in Egypt will lead to more of the same, or worse because of Egypt’s strategic importance in the Middle East.
Suleiman’s efforts to suppress the MB in Egypt are no different than our attempts to contain the Ku Klux Klan in the US. We have deployed the police, the FBI, and the National Guard to eradicate the dark vestiges of the KKK, and for good reason. Try to imagine a foreign government or a group of influential liberal progressives from around the globe telling us that we have to include the KKK in the president’s cabinet. We wouldn’t tolerate it because we know from experience what the KKK stands for and what giving them a seat the table means. It’s arrogant and hypocritical for us to pressure Egypt to do something we would never accept.
Liberal progressives in the US have done more to destroy our economy and to undermine our national security than any other group, but they haven’t stopped there. They want to impose their will on Egypt and other foreign governments who face security problems that make ours look like nothing by comparison. We can’t trust our LPs at home, so how can we trust them to see clearly what other governments need to do?
Omar Suleiman isn’t perfect, but he knows his country better than we do. In case you hadn’t noticed, Barack Obama isn’t perfect either. Even with all of Suleiman’s faults, I trust him more than I trust Obama. At least Suleiman comes to the table with some practical experience under his belt. That’s something Obama doesn’t have, and his glaring deficiencies don’t seem bother him. Our president may be intelligent, but he’s not smart. He’s certainly not wise enough to dictate terms to foreign leaders who have to live with the decisions they make.
