Scripture of the day:
Isaiah 40: 15-17—Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on the scales; behold, He lifts up the islands like fine dust. Even Lebanon is not enough to burn, nor its beasts enough for a burnt offering. All the nations are as nothing before Him, they are regarded by Him as less than nothing and meaningless.

SnyderTalk Editorial: And they say liberal progressives have no common sense
Question: How many Democratic contenders for Congress met President Obama at the airport in Austin, Texas?
Answer: Zero, nada, zip. And they say liberal progressives have no common sense.
This is a quote from the article above: “At a fund-raising event for Democrats in Dallas, where Bush now lives, Obama said the former president’s ‘disastrous’ policies had driven the U.S. economy into the ground and turned budget surpluses into deficits.”
I’m not going to defend President Bush because he had a Republican majority in the House and Senate for 6 of the 8 years he was in office, and the housing bubble grew to gargantuan proportions under his watch. Clearly, he was not a fiscally responsible president, but, and this is a big but, President Obama makes President Bush look like a fiscal conservative. Mr. Obama has mortgaged what’s left of our economic future to pay off groups that supported his candidacy in 2008. That’s not just irresponsible. I think it’s criminal.
Hopefully, the Democratic contenders for Congress in Texas know that President Obama’s policies are leading us in the wrong direction, and they have serious reservations about his policies. This isn’t rocket science. You can’t solve a financial problem by heaping mounds of deficit spending on an already bloated national debt. Those bills have to be paid by our children and our grandchildren.
You certainly can’t solve the problem by paying off your friends while you ignore our critical infrastructure needs. I’m referring to all those “shovel ready” projects that were supposed to create jobs and lift us out of the “great recession”. We need massive infusions of cash to deal with our infrastructure problems, but President Obama has failed to deliver on his promise. That’s a verifiable fact—not my opinion.
Things are looking up when Democratic stalwarts distance themselves from a sitting president from their own party. I can feel it. Change is on the way. Thankfully, November 2010 is right around the corner.
