Isaiah 37: 1-4—And when King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth and entered the house of Yahweh. Then he sent Eliakim who was over the household with Shebna the scribe and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz. They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘This day is a day of distress, rebuke and rejection; for children have come to birth, and there is no strength to deliver. Perhaps Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom his master the king of Assyria has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

Shalu shalom Yerushalayim: Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. (Psalm 122: 6)

Scripture of the day:

SnyderTalk Commentary: I saw video of Iranian physicist Shahram Amiri while he was in the US.  It looked to me as though he was here on his own volition.  I’ll bet he got word from Iran’s leaders that members of his family were being held and that they faced torture and death unless he returned.  That’s the way the Islamofascist thugs masquerading as religious leaders work in Iran.  Mr. Amiri would have known they meant business.  I also believe the remainder of Amiri’s life will be short and unpleasant.  That, too, is part of the modus operandi of the brutal regime in Tehran.  Their day is coming.

SnyderTalk Commentary: Congratulations to Brian McCann from the Atlanta Braves for being selected the 2010 All-Star Game MVP.  His 7th inning double that scored three runs was the key to victory.  Pitching on both sides was excellent, as expected.  McCann’s heroics at the plate produced the NL’s only runs.
