Today’s Feature
The Concept of “Original Sin”
The concept of “original sin” is foreign to many Jewish people today, but it was not a foreign concept to the ancient rabbis. The following quotes from ancient rabbinical writings will prove my point:
Midrash Rabbah XXIII 5-6:
“…Adam whom I charged with one commandment which he was to perform and live and endure for ever’; as it says, Behold the man was as one of us (Gen. III, 22). Similarly, And God created man in His own image (ib. I, 27), that is to say, that he should live and endure like Himself. Yet [says God] he corrupted his deeds and nullified My decree. For he ate of the tree, and I said to him: For dust thou art (ib. III, 19)….you have ruined yourselves like Adam, and so, ‘Indeed, ye shall die like Adam.’”
Midrash Talpiyot 58a:
“…The Tora was before the Holy One, blessed is He, containing six hundred thousand letters, in disarray. And when Adam the first man sinned, [God] arranged the letters into words, such as, When a man dieth in the tent (Num. 19: 14), or the section about inheritance, and the section about levirate, and many more the like. For had Adam not sinned, the letters would have arranged themselves into other words. Therefore, in the Future to Come, when the sin of Adam will have been forgiven, the words will return to their primordial state, and the very Tora of Moses will contain the full complement of letters, neither fewer nor more, arranged into other words, as it would have been had Adam not sinned.”
Zohar 1: 113b, Midrash haNe’elam:
“In the future time to come, the Holy one, blessed is He, will render the bodies of the pious beautiful like the beauty of Adam the first man when he entered the Garden of Eden.”

SnyderTalk® Commentary
- Berlin landmark backdrop for climate protest
- NE fall snowstorm breaks record in NY, NJ, and PA
- What happened to global warming?
The data points to global cooling while Fat Albert and his compadres are making a fortune selling global warming. I guess P.T. Barnum was right. He’s reported to have said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” There is more room for doubt about whether Barnum made that remark than there is about which way the global climate is heading. Still people are following the pied piper. Let’s hope we snap out of it before we waste a fortune for no reason whatsoever.
If you follow SnyderTalk on a regular basis, you’ll see the facts about climate change as they unfold. If you are new to SnyderTalk, you can click on the “Climate Change” page in the right column of each SnyderTalk post. I maintain an inventory of articles providing accurate information on global climate change. That’s one important reason why you should make SnyderTalk your “go to” place.
As Thomas Jefferson said, “For here we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it.” On SnyderTalk, my goal is to provide accurate, unbiased, and non-politically correct information that you can share with your friends and associates. We will have to pay for this boondoggle unless we take steps now to prevent mindless movement down a path that leads to massive wealth transfers from people like you and me to people such as Fat Albert.
“The vast right-wing conspirators are trying to make me look like a wacko, again.”
