Today’s Feature
More Messianic Prophecies:
Micah 2: 12-13—He will lead His children the way a shepherd leads his flock.
Repeatedly in the Scriptures, the Messiah is referred to as the Shepherd of His people. For instance, Ezekiel chapter 34 explains Yahweh’s role as Shepherd, as does Psalm 23. It begins with these words: “Yahweh is my Shepherd…”
Zephaniah 1: 14-18—He will return at the End of Days as the Righteous Judge and the Mighty God.
This prophecy deals with Yahweh returning to earth at the End of Days to redeem the Children of Israel and to liberate the Promised Land.
Isaiah 52: 14—He was brutally treated and disfigured to the point that He did not even resemble a man.
Isaiah 53: 4-6—He is our sin offering.
Isaiah 53: 7—He is the Lamb of Yahweh.

Commentary
Senator John Kerry from Massachusetts is trying to sneak a $20 million spending bill through Congress to support an educational institute honoring the late Senator Ted Kennedy from Massachusetts. I’m outraged. By tucking the “Kennedy provision” into a defense spending bill, it will likely attract little attention…unless we speak out boldly.
Where are all of Senator Kennedy’s wealthy friends and family? Why don’t they pony up for the institute honoring Senator Kennedy? Why does John Kerry think we as a nation want to support this particular organization? Let’s allow people to decide for themselves where their money goes. That may be a foreign concept to Senator Kerry, but it’s not to me. Attaching the “Kennedy provision” to a defense bill is a shameless and deceitful attempt to impose a burden on us that we may not want to bear. I know I don’t.
My problem with Senator Kerry’s maneuver goes beyond my personal disdain for Senator Kennedy. I am offended that members of Congress give so little thought to spending our money. It’s as if they believe our money is theirs to do with as they please. I object to that point of view during good times, but when our nation is running trillion dollar deficits, I’m incensed by it. You should be too. Why not take a minute and tell your members of Congress?

Editorial comment: I wonder if Zelaya is seeing spooks…the ghostly kind. It sounds like he may be suffering from paranoia. That’s one of the problems Stalin and Hitler had. Please, let’s not put the U.S. government behind a man who is probably suffering from delusions of one sort or another.

Israel and Middle East
“On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind Yahweh, take no rest for yourselves; and give Him no rest until He establishes and makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

Editorial comment: Keep your eyes on Mahmoud Abbas, a.k.a. Abu Mazen. This is the beginning of the Palestinian two-step—or double cross. He’s actually starting to run for cover now…and prematurely I should add. When the time for signing a peace treaty nears he’ll break into a full sprint. Bottom line, he won’t sign. At the end of the dance, he’ll stomp out, blame Israel, and declare another Intifada. He learned from his master, Yasser Arafat. Why do I think this? Because if he signs a peace treaty he becomes a target for assassins who won’t rest until he does, and he knows it.
As long as Abbas heads up the PA, he’s in an enviable and lucrative position. Arafat pocketed more than a billion dollars while he ran the PA. Right now, Abbas can rant and rave and slam Israel before adoring crowds. If he signs a peace treaty, he’ll have to actually run a “country”…with outside auditors looking at the books. Suddenly his life will be in real danger, and he’ll have to account for all those dollars and euros he’s handling. Nope…he won’t sign.
