Yahweh Appeared to Hagar
When Yahweh made the covenant with Abraham, Sarah had no children. She was desperate to have a child, and she asked Abraham to have intercourse with her maid, Hagar, so Hagar could give birth to a child for her. Abraham agreed. He had intercourse with Hagar, and she became pregnant.
When Hagar realized she had conceived, she despised Sarah and created a serious problem for Abraham. Evidently, Abraham was giving Hagar special attention because she was about to become the mother of his child (this child’s name would be Ishmael), and Sarah believed Abraham’s behavior was responsible for her attitude. She was furious, and she told Abraham,
“May the wrong done me be upon you. I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight. May Yahweh judge between you and me.” (Genesis 16: 5)
Not knowing exactly what to say, Abraham simply told Sarah that Hagar was still her maid and that she could do with her as she pleased. Afterwards, Sarah treated Hagar so harshly that she fled to the wilderness. Along the way, Yahweh appeared to her by a spring and said,
In Genesis 16: 8, Yahweh said, “Hagar, Sarah’s maid, where have you come from and where are you going?”
She told Him she was running away from Sarah, and He said,
“Return to your mistress and submit yourself to her authority (Genesis 16: 9)….Moreover…I will greatly multiply your descendants so that they shall become too many to count (Genesis 16: 10)….Then she called the Name of Yahweh who spoke to her, ‘You are a God who sees (El Roi); for have I even remained alive after seeing Him?’” (Genesis 16: 13)
Did Yahweh actually appear to Hagar? Yes, there’s no doubt about it. First, He told her that He would greatly multiply her descendants. What angel can do that? Only Yahweh can. Furthermore, Hagar knew she had spoken directly to God. She called Him El Roi, the Strong One who Sees, and she seemed to be surprised that she did not die after having seen Him. Also, Hagar called the well at which He appeared to her “the well of the Living One who Sees me.” (Genesis 16: 14) Yahweh did appear to Hagar, and she talked with Him in Person.
Fact is Stranger than Fiction
“The will of a Muslim towards building a Church is a sin against God, just as if he left his inheritance towards building a nightclub, a gambling casino, or building a barn for rearing pigs, cats or dogs.” That’s the ruling of the Egyptian Muslim Council. It is a sign of intolerance and hate that Muslims profess to deplore in others. I wonder if Obama mentioned it during his Ramadan dinner at the White House yesterday. I have my doubts. Our president is too naïve…and I’m trying to be diplomatic.
How can a thinking person make sense of the rulings of so-called Muslim “spiritual leaders?” In yesterday’s SnyderTalk, there was an article about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s “spiritual leader.” He ruled that rape (either heterosexual or homosexual) is condoned by Islam if it is part of a torture regimen and the person being raped doesn’t appear to enjoy it. The only caveat is that while the perpetrator is engaging in the act of rape, according to the “spiritual leader” he is required to chant prayers. I’m not kidding. That’s exactly what he said. That kind of stupidity is incomprehensible, but Mahmoud Ahmadinejad eats it up. It’s no wonder people think he’s an idiot.
As difficult as it is, try to imagine this. They take people, men and women, to dungeons and rape them in the rear. The Muslim “men” doing the raping are chanting prayers. It’s wicked, shameful, and despicable. They must think they’re heading for heaven, but I’ve got news for them. They’re going in the opposite direction, and the “spiritual leaders” who promote that kind of immoral behavior…well, there must a special place in hell for them. Let’s not forget the political opportunists who leverage off the gullibility and naiveté of young people to advance their evil agendas…people like Yasser Arafat, for example. He has already met Yahweh. I’ll promise you that he wasn’t greeted by 70 virgins—male or female.
Do you think the vast majority of Muslims around the world know that their religion has been hijacked? Even if most of them have nothing to do with the depravity that is so commonplace among the Islamofascists, the actions of the minority color our attitudes toward all Muslims. That should surprise no one. Candidly, I think it’s unwise to ignore the rantings of the “spiritual leaders” because they hold sway over the imbeciles who blow themselves up in crowded places or worse. The fact that these corrupt and perverse people are treated seriously by the western media proves that fact is stranger than fiction.
