But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares Yahweh.

The “email informed” are uninformed.
How many emails to do you receive each day that contain pithy content suitable for forwarding? How many emails do you receive each day with hyperlinks to news articles? If you are like me, you get lots of them, but if all you know about what’s happening in the world is what you receive in those types of emails, you don’t know very much. In fact, you are dangerously uninformed.
We live at a time when the world is at our fingertips, literally a click away. Even so, some people, far too many I’m afraid, get all of their news from those types of emails, and they don’t seem to care. It reminds me of a Denise the Menace cartoon that I saw several years ago. Denise was walking in the woods with his pal Joey, and he said, “We may be lost, but we’re making good time.”
After I stopped laughing, I realized how much truth there is in that statement. The world is full of people who are ignorant about what’s going on around them, but they are very busy doing this and that. Many of the things that fill their days are unnecessary and irrelevant but they stick to their schedules, and their schedules don’t include time for staying current. Those people are what I call the “email informed.” It means that they are uninformed, but they think they are. At best, they’re dilettantes.
Several years ago, a research study reported that most Americans get all of their news from people like Jay Leno, Oprah Winfrey, David Letterman, and Jon Stewart. Today, emails are included on that list, but things really haven’t changed all that much. People are still woefully uninformed about serious things that will affect them personally, and they still don’t seem to care. They are hardly willing to lift a finger or click a mouse to get informed. They probably think that someone will send it to them in an email if it’s important.
